I'd probably say KQ+, AJ+ and any PP is ok to open UTG, but ofc it depends a bit on how ppl are playing too :)

I'd have to check when I get home but I believe that's about the range I've been opening UTG as standard.

I've heard differing views on opening all PP's UTG, but I still do. Off the top of my head i'd go with something like 22+, KQ+, ATs+.

Wow, whole month since I last posted? Time flies...

Lots changed in past couple of weeks, namely no uni, promotion at work and moving house (again), amongst other more personal things. Do plan on playing some poker this month now things are a little more stable, and it's the 6max turbos on Stars ive been playing and am really enjoying at the moment. Few targets for the month:

- Crush $3.50's and have a comfortable roll to move up to the $7's by the end of the month.
- Minimum Silverstar on Stars (should be easy it's only 293 games, i'd like to play at least 4-500).
- Go through minimum of 75% of games through SnG Wizard 2.

I'm only 6-tabling at the moment as my game sucks as SnG Wizard has kindly pointed out, hence the target of reviewing so many games. My sessions will basically consist of playing a set of 6 then running each one through Wiz to see the many spots i've missed. Hopefully will improve my game massively.

Yeah I called and won, think he had 89cc off the top of my head but can't remember now. Nice avatar btw

Played about 8.5k hands at NL25 FR Zoom and am about breakeven. Been so long since I played so im content with that for now, gonna start watching some videos and getting some hands evaluated though so I turn that breakeven into winning. Off out for Sunday Lunch now though before hopefully getting 2-3k hands out tonight.

Yeah I mean I don't think you have any option I think vs 25nl unknown this is check/call R everytime, i'd call pot also, not sure about an overbet but I'm a station.

We don't expect him to turn pairs into bluffs. The thinnest he will probably vbet here is like AT. QTo he prolly doesn't have so that helps reduce value combos. He has some QTs and some Q high fds that spiked but the rest is busted fds and w/e other crap he could spew with like A4hh or w/e

Sup guys, long time no post!

So i've had no money on poker sites in a while. Been spending my free time trading on Betfair a little, to pretty much zero success. Given up on that now, and transferred my very small trading bankroll to Stars to grind STT's from the bottom. After playing 60 or so and losing $47 I decided micro SnG's suck and Zoom's the way forward.

So yesterday at 3pm I hit NL10 Zoom and played my record number of hands over a weekend as below, total of 762 minutes with seeing the girlfriend in between.

Same volume tomorrow?

Week 1 down and happy with the volume, especially as there was a couple of days with no hands played. Not ecstatic with the results but im rusty and results will come with volume. Graph of my first week back playing below.

Spoiler

I think one key thing to note is that im not overly fussed about results at the moment. In the past i'd have got really disheartened at around the 18k hand mark and stopped playing, but ive realised im not gonna shoot up the limits overnight and am happy to put in the time. Will just keep chipping away!

So with the milestone hand promotion being back on Stars, tonight I fired up 16-18 ring game tables and inevitably didn't hit a single one. I did manage a cushty 275minute, 5,323 hand session though and ended up 7.5 buy ins though so it's not all bad.

Quick line check. Villain had just sat down at the table and auto-posted BB. No further reads.

Hand converted with online PokerStrategy.com hand converter:

Play hand

$0.05/$0.1 No-Limit Hold'em (9 handed)

Preflop: Hero is UTG2 with A:c, A:s.
CO posts deadblind, UTG1 folds, Hero raises to $0.45, 3 folds, CO calls $0.35, 3 folds, 2 folds, BB folds.

Flop: ($1.05) Q:c, 2:d, 6:h (2 players)
Hero bets $0.75, CO calls $0.75.

Turn: ($2.55) 3:h (2 players)
Hero bets $2.00, CO raises to $4.40, Hero ??

The Baluga Theorem says fold. Everything else says call and evaluate on the river.

Hi JB, thanks for stopping by. How's life as a Spurs fan?

I did indeed fold, I think it's the safest option against an unknown. I did consider calling, but putting anymore money in the pot effectively commits us to calling the river with him only having $2.40 into a pot of ~$11.35. Plus I'm a nit.

Being a Spurs fan has left me traumatized. Why couldn't I have been born in Manchester, or near Highbury?? :f_cry:

So today I have played a grand total of 10,617 hands in the hope of hitting a milestone hand on the final day of the promotion. I of course didn't hit a single one, and am up only this late so I could grind multiple different stakes / games types in the hope of being on the same game type when the final hand hit.

After being seated at multiple NL2, NL5, NL10 and NL16 tables (SH and FR), the milestone hand of course hit on the game type one above what I was playing - NL25 FR. Typical.

On the plus side, after a record-breaking 10,617 hands played in a day I am breakeven. I think I better sleep..
