The deeper I go into poker the more I wish I'd done a maths degree. It was 2nd on my UCAS/CAO form as well... But its bit late for me to go back now though especially with those new(ish) fees :f_o:

Really nice article though. Looking forward to more.

I just finished recording 45 minutes of me playing for TT and Manu's coaching on Sunday. I felt really rusty, played far too many hands, cbet too much, and bluffed it off too often. I suspect that I'm in for a kicking, but at least I made a profit, which must mean that I played really, really well. I told them that I'd play one regular NL100 table and one Zoom NL50 table, so, as I'm a reliable sort of chap who sticks with what he says, I played two Zoom NL100 tables.

And I've given up drinking because I think it makes me miserable. It's only taken me the past 30 years to work this out. :f_eek:

It may make you feel better to know that there are slower learners than yourself out there. I too have given up drinking this year... It took me 40 years. :f_rolleyes:

Hmmmm....
Drinking too much makes you miserable when you stop.

The solution is self-evident.

Looking forward to watching the coaching this Sunday..

Well, with the book out these two sentences from the very first post in the blog are somewhat redundant...

Well, life is full of compromises. As long as googling my name doesn't end up here, I'm happy......ish.

Where we lose TWICE the amount we earned in part one, sounds like a legit project :f_thumbsup:

The offer to stake me to play PLO is noted.

I will open a thread on the staking board. :] I mean realistically, I don't have a big enough bankroll to pull that alone.

no bankroll management needed for -ev ventures

despite you (JB) snobbing me last week, I felt bad about not watching and plugged a second screen just for the coaching while I play my tournaments!

... me, feeling bad? looks like I am getting soft! don't go repeating it!

Watched the video of you playing. Very boring tbh. All the coaches were just saying JB is right… JB is right all the time. Ok give them credit they do know a good thing when they see it but boring none the less.

Oh and TT's statement about getting older... your application to become the new Chairperson of the Zimmers club (now that MC is clearly gone) is noted. I second the motion.

I don't think that's exactly what they were saying. Doing +EV things is not the same as doing maxEV things.

MC is not gone. I spoke to her recently, and she's thinking about doing a PhD on bees. She's clearly as mad as a hatter, but I think she may return.

I thought you did a good job; you can obviously play to at least that level and you said yourself you were rusty. I would like to be that rusty when I'm not rusty. I dream of the day a coach says; 'Yes, you are right Mal, well played!' more than once even. Sigh.

I think TT and Manu both said you were playing +EV but not maxEV if memory serves, which fair enough, not many of us are Manu or TT.

Miss MC about the place tbh, it would be nice to hear from her again, loony toons or not - and bees are important. :)

Since JB's blog is no.1 on PS and he doesn't mind me posting stuff in it, I would like to direct any German speaking readers to my blog for this post:

I'm trying to sell our old lawnmower at the moment. Do you mind if I advertise that in your blog?
