What up!
First I'am going to tell something about myself. I am 20 years old and living in the Netherlands. I immediately start playing for real cash, even though I didn't knew half of the rules ♦ In a couple of months I lost 150 Euro what felt like a fortune back then. After that I got lucky in couple of tournaments and felt like a superstar.
Before September 2012 I was grinding sit/go's and playing tournaments. I had some nice tournament result in the beginning of 2012, but after a while I only kept losing. Then I realized that playing tournaments is not the way to go. Plus I had trouble defeating the 15 dollars sit/go. Back then I found cash games very boring, but after I did research I knew it is the only way to make big money in poker.
So why am I blogging?
Previous week I saw the video "Champions stand up one more time then the rest Part 6". Gordon would coach 1 person out of each community if they could prove they are motivated enough. I send him my application and he told me I'am in if I blog for 60 days in a row. So that's what I'am gonna do!
At this moment I play 50NL 6max and 50NL HU. I am profitable but I'am not crushing yet. 6 max is at the moment my main game, but I also like to play HU. Basically I want to be good at both.
If Gordon is going to coach me, I have to quit college. Before I watch his video I had already decided to quit school for at least 1 year. I don't see any perspective in my future job after my study. I really don't like the idea of working 9-5 at the office, and I hate having a boss telling you what to do. Also 80% of lessons you learn on college or useless and fucking boring.
No, I prefer to make money with poker and traveling the world and living my own life instead of someone else.
But I'am going to be honest. I do care about the opinions of my friends/family. If I tell my family I quit school for playing cards, they probably think I'am addicted to gambling and failed in life. But yeah, that doesn't stop me for still doing it;)
I had a goal to play 150K hands between 2 July-31 July. This are my results for the first week:
