Damn don't even know where to start.
Alright a bit about Bisco:
The wait to get in was ridiculous, we sat in line for 8 hours, we left our houses at like 3pm and didn't get set up until 8am, also my friend brought a tent for me and there were parts missing so we had to duct tape the bitch so I was extremely tilted. The music was amazing, especially at night. Just a really crazy atmosphere with so many people there. It was like a different world where people could do whatever they want, everyone just smoking weed out in the open, people just walking from tent to tent either buying or selling drugs. I decided not do anything and just stick to drinking and smoking a bit of weed.
Last day shit got real, wake up, just sitting there drinking water, all of a sudden I hear this girl screaming Craig, Craig, Craig, someone help, freaking out crying screaming etc. All of a sudden the people working there come rushing over on fourwheelers, throw shit around and carry him out. Apparently the kid wasn't breathing and they found a heroin needle in his tent. Oh and I go to the car while all of this is happening to grab my phone because I was going to walk over to this girls tent that I was hanging out with and all of a sudden I see her laying on the ground, lol so ran over and picked her up and gave her water. It was kind of scary at the time but I guess she just felt kind of dizzy and sick from seeing all of that.
As far as the pics and vids go, I will have to look over them and post them later once I charge my phone. I didn't take very many pics just because the camera quality on my iphone sucks so I took some vids. Also my song selection kind of sucked because every time a good song came on I would just be jamming dancing and forget all about recording and then a bad slow song came on and I will be like oh I should record haha.
A bit about poker+life:
I guess I'm back to the online poker world after putting in like 150-200 hours into live poker last month, ran pretty well, played ok, had a few spots where I could have avoided getting stacked or made more money if I was playing more solid and/or understood live poker as well as I do now. I was easily the best player there though, busted 5 people playing heads up, crushed some ok reg so 6-0 for hu live lol.
Now I'm just sitting here updating all of my clients, poker tracker etc while I type this update, it's a little unusual to be playing after not playing so long but I will get used to it again.
As far as my life goals go, I would like to get some more motivation to work out, just been struggling to go to the gym consistently and it's really bothering me because it's a mindset thing.
The gym is like 30 minutes away, so its an hour there and back so sometimes I don't feel like driving there and back. The biggest thing is having to lift way less than I used to be able to and being wayyy smaller than I used to be so it really fucks up my mind.
Anyway going to put in a session now and continue this later.

I'm honestly the worst at updating but I guess in my excuse I have been home very little and pretty busy. Anyway so I'm moving to this beautiful huge house with 2 other grinders which is like 2 miles away from a casino which happens to run 2/5 with 1k buy in yay licking chops etc.
As far as pics from bisco, long story short my iphone froze got some kind of a stupid error or some shit and I had to completely reset it and lost all pics. Pretty tilting but w/e not a huge deal.
Life is good though, I have been running pretty good playing live poker while going to check out the place and then after signing the lease and what not. Also been playing a ton of golf relaxing/chilling before I move. I have a golf lesson in an hour actually which I'm prob about to go get ready for.

The last 4 or 5 months have left me with a lot of aha moments in my life that everyone typically knows but doesn't quite realize the importance of. I'm sorry for the lack of updates to the guys that used to read this somewhat but hopefully this post will explain why.
About 5 months ago I decided to move in with a friend who has been a live pro since black friday and another dude who my friend is friends with. We picked out a really nice 4 bedroom house which is literally one minute away from the casino. Also during the 3 day trip to check out houses I once again killed it and made something like 5k give or take, I don't remember exact numbers and this is not really about the numbers. In my mind everything was going to be easy and smooth sailing.
Variance
I think everyone has heard of this term. I have also and I have been through many "downswings" through my poker career but none of them affected me because I either had the money to continue playing the games I was playing or I just didn't have to worry about any payments, what I'm trying to say is reality hit. I know have a lot of expenses, a lot of bills and a lot of things that stress me out. I have always been very careless with money and have made a lot of wrong decisions when it comes to investing or spending. Where as some of my poker friends have made better decisions and are enjoying the rewards of it now.
The first two months here I was putting in little to no volume, I met a girl and was mostly just hanging out and having fun. Then I slowly start losing due to many factors. And just like anyone with a huge ego that considers himself pretty good I obviously didn't have any intentions of updating my blog talking about how I was losing. The typical human character is to brag and what not and nobody really wants to talk about loses. The reality of live poker is that it just simply plays higher than it is and there is a shit load of variance and you will experience it at some point if you put enough time in no matter how good you are.
Variance just loves to mess with our heads. I know I have suffered from this before, when you are winning - everything just feels to go perfect so you don't feel the need to improve at all and think you are the greatest, when you are losing - you question everything about your game, every spot, get results oriented and so on. Basically we need to understand that we should thrive to improve every day, whether it is going through hh review, talking to a friend about spots, watching a video, reading etc. And most importantly we have to be confident with what we know so far and be confident with the decisions we make.
Ego
This is another one that really hit home for me lately. Pretty much my whole life I have never been much of a table selector especially when it comes to live poker, I would just sit down at a table and just stay there whole time because I knew I was +EV there. I had this talk with my roommate recently about how even though we don't really go after each other by 3betting and what not we still cut into each others hourly quite a lot because each of us is taking away from the fish and the person with better position on the fish gets to iso the fish more often and sometimes doesn't let the other be in the pot. So we have an agreement to stay off each other tables unless there is a pretty big whale at the table. The point is even though other nitty regs don't cut into my hourly as much as my roommate would, they still do make some difference. And I used to absolutely love getting in 3bet/4bet pots vs these other regs and just want to own them, I mean I still do but if there is a better table available I won't stay just to have a swinging contest. If anything lately my 3bet % has gone down a bit.
Work ethic
Work ethic is an interesting term for me, if someone asked me what I thought of my work ethic I wouldn't know what how to answer. I will say that since moving here I have realized the importance of putting in the hours both online and live, it's just great motivation when you have 2 other people living with you that are also trying to grind so it's very nice to motivate each other and plus we talk a lot of strat.
However I have been slacking in terms of working out and I consider that a pretty important part of my life. I'm not satisfied with everything but I guess I have to give poker a bit more priority since it does pay for my bills and I consider it my current job.
Pokerstrategy
I wasn't very active for few months, just everything seemed to be going down hill and I honestly didn't want to post about it nor did I want to give poker advice when I wasn't sure if I was even a winning player anymore. I strive to give very best advice possible but the truth of the matter is, there are spots that I'm unsure about, there are times when someone will come in and give better advice (internet) and I guess we just have to live with that. I have been posting a bit more in hh review section and hopefully once I figure out some camtasia stuff I will be able to produce some new stuff. I just have a very high standard for my work so often times it takes me a bit longer but hopefully you guys can appreciate that. And lately it just feels like I have so much to do every day and there is such a little amount of time. Anyway I'm going to leave you guys with that and grab something to eat.

Just got back from playing live, started down getting coolered and fucked in a lot of spots but then eventually ran it back up and ended up in profit. Thought I played okay but it was probably more like my B game instead of my A game. I think there were a couple of spots I could have played a little differently and extracted more value but I'm not going to stress to much over it or be results oriented.

Pretty funny story from last night:
These two retards last night, one was a POW and the other one was some black meh player but pretty tight post are in a pot and board is 44K4 and the black guy goes I think we are chopping or some dumb shit, the other guy is like ok we can chop and throws his cards face down lil over the line and the other guy thinks he mucked and shows K8o at this point the dealer is confused what to do and calls the floor over basically the floor says both hands are live action on the first retard he x black guys bets and obv he folds waste of time etc.
then it's sb vs bb folded to them and POW calls the $5 black guy makes it $20 call, flop Tc3s5s x black guy bets $40 POW goes all in for $500, black guys wow I don't think I can call, now this POW retard thinks that means black guy has folded and shows T9ss, the black guy is like ohhh and is now considering calling at this point POW is like wtf I thought he said fold, and the dealer is like no no sir he never verbally announced fold or threw his cards in the hand is still live. The black guy ends up calling and binks a flush lol. The game breaks like right after that and there was table chatter and everyone was like you want him to call to the T9 guy and then he ends up leaving or w/e.
So everyone is packing up and I say something like I would rather have T9ss there every time, and the black guy looks me at confused and don't remember what exactly he says, I go here is what I will do with you, we each get the same hands same flop but the rest of the deck will be shuffled each time and we can run it at least 10x or however many you want and put $500 each time. After that he goes do you want to play hu? Without hesitation I go YES 5/5 timed game? Then he is like oh you want to stay a lil longer to his gf or w/e and then he is like oh i think she wants to leave is a lil tired, and at this point I'm trying to get action and am like i mean its nothing personal but im not scared to play you one on one and then he starts being friendly to me and laughing and I'm like w/e and let it go and just cash out.

Last 2 days have gone pretty well. Went out for sushi with my roommates and then grinded out a small profit live, the next day I was grinding live and the old golf pro guy showed up to the casino to play one of the mtts, ended up drinking with him and my roommate. Also online has been going really well too. I think my game has room to improve but I have been kind of killing it

I had a little "problem" with me being lazy before with posting due to being lazy and depressed, but hopefully this time I will stick to it and post some insight and some interesting stories.

It's very important to point out that all of these in some way are related to one another, but let's try to break down each one and the importance of each one. I'm guessing this person asked me this to try and figure out how to make better decisions in game when we have a limited amount of time to make one.
I think the most important under that list for me personally falls under the category of hero:
-hero's hand, hero's range.
I can't stress enough how important it is to have a solid game plan, knowing your own personal range in every spot is very tough to do but if you have a solid game plan you will be able to make solid decisions with any hand.
Which then ties into decision making and now we can group a whole bunch of stuff together:
hero's possible lines + three street plan, best action vs opp w hand/range is kind of the same thing as the previous two imo. So here we are we have come up with some strats for our range and are trying to take the highest EV line with the hand we have.
From there we start making a plan vs our villain:
opp's range, opp's tendencies.
Unless you are playing vs sickos at high stakes, you will find anyone has leaks and has tendencies in their strat that are not "optimal" and can be taken advantage of. These are very interconnected because in order to guesstimate someone's range we will be looking at our hm2/pt4 stats on them their position so and so forth but even further we try and figure out if the player is a tight player/loose player etc.
And we get to the last level:
sizings, timings, dynamics, board texture, stats, adjustments, note-taking, taking time to think in no particular order. Although I think sizings and board texture are probably the two most important on that list. And one thing I find quite overrated is dynamics, I think players at 50 and 100nl overemphasize that "zomg I just got caught bluffing vs this guy 10 hands ago I can't bluff now with a hand that clearly should be bluffed". To me that's just a mental leak and FPS, if the hand has a higher EV being bluffed than being checked then it should be bluffed.
Summary:
I strongly believe that it's very important to work on your game first and foremost, figure out what your ranges look like in what spot and from there figure out which hands you want to be doing what with.
We then try and figure out the best course of action by trying to give our opponent a range and trying to figure out the opponent's tendencies. You often hear people say omg it's only 200 hands, that's not enough to draw any conclusions, no there is a difference between tendencies and having an accurate stat of someone's 3bet %.
And then we try to gather all of the possible details to make the best decision possible. I try my best to pay attention to what's going on at the table, what kind of an opponent I'm dealing with and so on, but I can't stress the importance of sticking to your game plan. As you get a better understanding of someone's game then you can start taking non "standard" lines.
That's basically how I feel about this topic, I'm sure there are other things we could add here but I can't think of any at the moment.

lol what's wrong with perceived? We can say just range actually, no much difference.. Range is perceived by itself, isn't it? I mean it's not exact and visible. Do I miss something?

I can't find where it was but I was kidding around anyway. Also when I was talking about hero's range, I was mainly talking about knowing our own strat without any reads and as we develop reads we go from there.

here is a funny hand, when I initially was thinking about reviewing this hand I was actually thinking that he opened and I 3bet, but I just realize that a 50bb fish min raised here and this 25/13 fish reg called.
I make several mistakes here imo.
Pre- I definitely should be going bigger here vs these fishcakes.
Flop- Only street I don't mind really. I don't think I can quite go 3 streets on this board and there are a lot of turn cards I'm not quite sure if I can vbet or not. I don't hate a bet but I think this hand protects my x range quite nicely also. The plan was to go for 2 large bets on turn and river if it went x x.
Turn- I feel like I made a pretty huge soul read on him here, this is the first time I had encountered him overbetting, I have seen him bet "normal" as a bluff before and for value but I have never seen him make such a bet before. Also the timing of his bet kinda got me alert but in my mind it was too weak to fold this hand, given I planned to x and bluff catch vs a bet or vbet myself. I'm actually not sure what I would have done if he had x/r me here, depends on sizing I guess.
River-I decided to call getting a pretty good price and 2 fds missing, I have seen fish do this shit with bluffs before to make it look like they are going for value, I would have prob called anything up to pot really.
I mean I'm not going to beat myself too much about this, if a reg takes this line ott I snap him off twice without too much thought, but my spidey senses were going off here cus I think he just use normal sizings with draws and his weak value hands so when he bets this big I think he has to have a very strong hand 2 pair+ or a very huge draw TQdd for example.

Let's do one I thought I played really well in and a lot of you probably miss value in.

CO here is 31/11 fish I iso smaller for two reasons, 1) his stack, 2) i want to be isoing a wide range and I don't want to give sb or bb incentive to 3bet the eff out of me. this is actually a really interesting topic about isoing sizes and can probably spend hours on it and different people have different views on it but that's what I do.
SB playing 30/18 after small sample, that right away tells me he prob flats more than he should in the sb.
Flop- very standard cbet not too much to talk about here, the co often will x/f, sb will often fold to 2 barrels, we have some good barreling opportunities. I didn't go too small, because I want to be able to make it look like I have a strong hand later on. Anyone good probably knows I cbet large with my strong hands here vs 2 fish cakes but I wanted to give myself a better price on a bluff.
Turn- So right away my sizing dramatically increases, I think I even make a mistake here of going too small due to being lazy and smashing hot key buttons, I think more optimal sizing is like 40-42$. I don't hate my bet too much if it causes him to call more often with a flush draw and 40-42 might make him fold it. Plus my sizing might get him to do something stupid like x/r so I don't completely hate it.
River- probably my best played street, probably where a lot of small stakes players miss a lot of value. given our reads preflop about him probably flatting a lot of hands he shouldn't KTo/KJo/KQo given with his timing on prior streets, this is a very very clear shove for value for me. I think something like K6+ for value is a good range, however the problem we run into when we hold a K in our hand is that we reduce the amount of Kx he can hold so this play is really nice when we have sets and straight, but I would be very tempted to make the same play with k6 depending on what I picked up on timing and what not.
Summary: when you have the nuts and slightly over 1 PSB, shovel all of the money in.
