Hey 1hajzlik

That's a decent amount of volume you're getting are you playing fast fold poker?

Ipoker network have good traffic so sites like Titan, William Hill, Everest . And their pokerstrategy + VIP systems are quite good so definitely worth checking them out. Feel free to come back and ask more questions if need be.

Regards,
Luke

Hello,

I currently play on pokerstars microstakes sng 1 table tournaments and 6 max zoom poker. I'm doing very well so far and hoping to make the most out of poker and go far with it. I was wondering whether I should change sites since pokerstars probably has the best players since it's so well known or should I stay there? I want a site that has a form of "zoom" poker, has decent player traffic, has lots of fish, and most importantly is reliable and can be trusted with player funds. I usually play 4-6 tables at once and am hoping to work my way up where I can be making good money playing poker. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hey Michael2345,

I moved your post into our dedicated thread for this, you will probably get the best response here!

Kind regards,

Hey Michael2345

The point that you mention about stars having the best players is half true. Yeah it does attract better players because of the traffic but there are also loads of fish there as well so it's just about choosing the pots you play carefully on zoom. A lot of sites have the fast fold game (like zoom).

Over at Ladbrokes 24h and Unibet they have 'Blaze' which is the same and at the moment there is a cool promo where they are giving away 10€ every 5 mins which is pretty cool you might want to get amongst it. That ends on the 7th btw. The games are pretty soft there.

Failing those options Ipoker have good traffic so rooms like Titan, William Hill, poker770 and Everest.

I know I just casually recommended 7 different rooms but that's the beauty of it. They are all very similar and you still get a good choice and theres not much room to go wrong. If you need more help by all means feel free to pop by again.

Luke

So you'd recommend that I switch to one of those sites instead of staying on pokerstars?

Hey Michael2345

Well pokerstars is good for the reasons mentioned above so I would advise staying there especially if you are doing well there, but if at some point you feel like stars isn't the room for you then any of the rooms I mentioned will be good.

Luke

Hey Condra

Welcome to the pokerstrategy.com community. William Hill and Gala are both good rooms and Coral poker too. Since they are all on the ipoker network they share the same player pool so the traffic is the same and they share the same software. Coral poker has the better vip system (Coral + pokerstrategy VIP = 28%) of the 3 with WH and Gala both having 23% rakeback. This becomes increasingly more important as you move up the stakes. William Hill has the added bonus of being part of our gemstone program so I would recommend William Hill of the two. Make sure when you sign up that you follow the bonus instructions to a T to make sure that you are tracked correctly :)

Btw condra have you heard about our beginner's course. It's worth checking out and will definitely help you in your quest to move up the stakes and to reach you $20 profit per month and then increase your winrate. And also you might want to introduce yourself to the guys and gals here.

Sorry for the big block by the way, hope it didn't seem too spammy.

All the best,
Luke

Hey, thanks, I'll register for a course as soon as I get my bronze status, and then I'll do my intro and start officially speaking to members, so picking a poker site was a priority. I took a longer look at WH and the first-time deposit freeroll is kind of a bummer ;)

Thank you for taking the time to fully reply to my question, it didn't seem spammy at all, just very helpful.

I'm an SnG grinder who's spent his last 1,5 years on Party network. Due to recent changes (software even worse than before + ridiculous RB) i don't have much choice but to migrate somewhere else. Unfortunatelly it can't be Stars atm (unless you can work your ps.com magic to retrack my P* account - ive never deposited there, never played real money (unless freerolls count), havent logged in in at least 2-3 years) since i value ps content too much but don't want to pay extra for it :) so the plan is to wait until im a Black Member before i move to untracked P* :)

I'm mainly asking abt traffic (and skill level of opponents if you have any info abt that though thats not super important), ive done my reasearch abt RB and FDBs already.

1. Which game type you play? (No limit? Sit & Go? MTT? PLO, Fixed Limit, Other?)

STT SnG, preferably turbo, less happy abt normal speed and definitely not happy abt hypers

2. Which limit do you play? (example: NL25, SNG $11, FL .50/1)

FR - preferably 50$+, 20$+ if i don't have other choice (staying at 50$ 'forever' is fine by me)
6max - preferably 30$+, 20$+ if i don't have other choice (plan is to build my skills + roll so it would be great if 50$ and 100$ are running as well)

3. Short handed or full ring tables, or even Heads-Up?

My main game was always FR but i'm migrating to the 6max world atm and want to make it my main (and prolly only) game for the foreseeable future so the 6max traffic is more important

4. How much do you play? (e.g. I play 3 hours a week, or I generate $1000 rake/month)

~1200 tourneys/month (FR + 6max combined) so if the traffic allows it can be up to ~4k$ rake/month

5. How many tables do you want to play?

since i don't mix FR with 6max in the same session (and don't really want to change that) my requirements may be actually a bit optimistic :)

FR - 9-12 tables (50$ turbo > 50$ normal > 30$ turbo etc., but not lower than 20$)

6max - 6-9 tables (30$turbo > 30$ normal etc., but im interested in info on the traffic on the higher stakes as well, e.g. whether it's possible to 6-9 table 50-100$)

6. What are your goals for the next 3+ months?

make myself comfortable at 6max 30$, hopefully move to 50$ and as soon as i feel ok there drop the FR and go full time pro :)

additional info/wishes:
- i don't have accounts on anything except Party network and Stars
- preferably a site which is not gonna stop being your partner anytime soon (Ipoker than? :))
- I actually thought abt taking advantage of my current situation and becoming an FDB whore for a little while so it would be nice if that was a network so i can complete more than one FDB without changing the player pool (stats, notes etc.)
- it must support HEM1 (HM2 may be ok as well i guess) together with it's HUD
- it would be nice if it supprted sth like Table Ninja or it's equivalent, although thats not a priority

I'd be more than greatful for any kind of info that may help me decide! :)

Hey wiarygodny

Unfortunately i'm pretty confident that your stars account can't be retracked. In terms of traffic ipoker is the next best option to stars and yeah as you mentioned it shares the same player pool so rooms like Titan, Everest, poker770, William Hill, Gala, Coral bet365 are all on there so theres quite a bit of FDB hunting you can do. Can't speak from experience about the traffic at the ~$50 unfortunately but considering ipoker in general has the next best traffic to stars i'd say you most likely would get decent traffic there. HEM software and HUDs are supported on ipoker but not sure about table ninja. Hope it all works out for you and you become a full time pro by the way. All the best.

Luke

thanks for such a quick response!

couple more question then:
- is there a reliable way of telling which skin is in which tier atm? as far as i know you can't find this info on the skin's website, i can't seem to find it through google either and i believe than even info to be found here on ps is not 100% correct. Do you have an up to date info abt this matter?

from my research:

top tier:
Paddy Power
betfair
Titan
Coral
Gala
Everest
William Hill
Poker770
bet365

low tier:
Mansion

can you please confirm that? Do you have any history of skins being downgraded/upgraded in the past? from what i know only Coral, Gala and Everest have been upgraded at some point, haven't found any info abt downgrades though. I'm simply worried that if that happens often it would be really difficult to make any midterm planning since i believe i can't play on the low tier and i heard the tier valuation is done on a monthly basis which may potentially mean a lot of fluctuation.

and lastly maybe a silly question - do i have a seperate account on each skin (meaning a different screen name) like it is on the Party network or do all my Ipoker accounts share one screen name?

Yeah I understand there is still a bit of confusion to do with tiers in the ipoker network.
No unfortunately I can't confirm that for you. I can only speculate based on what I read in news articles but it sounds like you've done something similar. I think betfair may have been upgraded as well but again that is unconfirmed.

It is unfavourable that we don't know which skins will stay on which tiers as it all depends on how the individual skins do in terms of traffic and player sign-up quotas so that aspect is impossible to foresee which does mean for players like you mid-term planning is almost impossible but there's nothing that can be done about this.

I'm confident that you would have different screen names for each skin.

Luke

I haven't done this, but perhaps the way to do it would be to download each skin, but not sign up.

Then,
Check the size of the pool playing one limit -- say NL 5 speed.

There should be two levels.

Note that the segregation is only for certain game types / limits.
it is possible that at your limit it is all one pool. Also I did not check -- speed poker might include both tiers.

iPoker traffic is quite time-dependant.
From 00:00 CET approx until ?? the pool is small and somewhat reggy.
The rest of the day is fine -- at least at my limits.
I don't know what time it actually picks up again, because I don't get up until about 15:00 CET and it is fine again by then.

Here is more info:

http://www.pokerstrategy.com/news/world-of-poker/All-bet365-paddypowerpoker-Tables-in-iPoker-s-Top-Tier-Player-Pool_67991/

And some forum discussions:
Ipoker 1 vs Ipoker 2
Ipoker Network

Note that "Tier 1" and "Tier 2" refers to the number of people signing up at that skin, NOT the skill level of the players, as some other rooms have done.

Best of Luck!

1. Which game type you play? NLHE

2. Which limit do you play? NL5-NL10

3. Short handed or full ring tables, or even Heads-Up? 6max

4. How much do you play? (e.g. I play 3 hours a week, or I generate $1000 rake/month) I think I want to go to 2 hours/day when school, maybe around 5 in vacation (next 1.5 months)

5. How many tables do you want to play? I currently play 3/4 tables, I'd like to go to 6 when my game is better

6. What are your goals for the next 3+ months? Become a better player, win at my limit so I can move up to higher limits.

Thanks!

Hi MarliesB

Do you currently have play at any poker rooms? Do you have any desires in terms of traffic, rakeback, player softness, software?

Luke

Hello,

I currently play on poker stars. I think softer rooms would be better because making some cash really keeps me motivated. If it doesn't hurt the improvement of my game, of course. In terms of traffic, and rakeback, I don't really know from what I can choose? Less rakeback = you keep more money? More taffic = more fishes?

Hey MarliesB

Yeah softer rooms would be good I wouldn't worry too much about it affecting your game at this stage. Lower rake means you keep more money but higher rakeback means you get more money back from the room. And yeah traffic means more fish generally but then some rooms that have lower traffic have mostly fish because some regs chase the fish in the rooms with more traffic but imo proportionately it evens out.

Are you tracked on stars? The reason I ask is that you could have your account on stars that you can use to grind and get your strategy points and have another account that you use for when the fish are abundant that might not have the traffic available at the times that you play. If that is the case I suggest Unibet or PKR. If that is not the case a happy medium would be one of the ipoker rooms so something like Everest or Gala would be good options.

Luke

Good morning :)

Can I have the list of the .ee poker-rooms that work with PokerStrategy? Thanks :)

Hi legand,

Yes, I am tracked on pokerstars. Aren't unibet and pkr also tracked? I'm a bit confused, do you mean to say that there are almost no tables at unibet and pkr?
