hero tried to steal the pot from the villain loose preflop raiser and got good value to call and see the flop when villain reraised him, hit the nut str8 with a draw to improve and since he was in position he was more than happy letting the villain inflate the pot since there was almost no chance he could get outdrawn and beaten on that board.

A :diamond: Ax

I think this could be answered with JJ+ but to pick a hand I'll go for A :diamond: Ax.

Here opts for a 3-bet/call PF and trying to get to showdown vs TT-KK for maximum value IP on all streets.

Also to call flop/turn/river I think sometimes HERO could fold JJ-QQ by the river so seems we can narrow the range even further to KK+.

KK

I think hero is trying to trap utg, maybe he has some sort of reads that villian is barrel happy/spewy post flop. So instead of 5b pre flats and with the above reads calls down.

I think he has KK

Pre: Vill seems interested in the hand, don't have to 5b shove and face a fold.

Post: well with the overpair KK the hand almost plays itself.

sounds like a classic case of KK vs our hero having AA's with the ace of diamonds. with all that money in the pot, that's the scenario I came up with!

6 :heart:6 :diamond: maybe thinking about utg can hold strong range and when hit set we take full stack or sometimes AK and kick him from hand after flop, on flop we hit not that bad equity vs QQ+ and it's always one call after preflop call, friendly turn and the show goes on

Judging by the bet sizings villain is a reg, so his utg 4bet range should be QQ+, AK.

In this situation I would shove or fold in hero's place, but maybe he had info on the villain that he is aggressive postflop, so he called the 4bet. This way villain will bet 3 streets out of position, having initiative with his monster, and hero will take down the pot with his <drumroll>: AA

My answer is AA

Its 8s in my opinion, otherwise i think we'd see a raise on the turn, he turned a gutshot to go with his overpair and flats.

AA/KK will be 5 betting pretty much all the time to try stack an UTG 4bet which is repping a pretty strong hand, AK+/QQ+. I think its also possible he's 4betting light against a wide button 3bet but we don't know the hero's image.

When the hero flat the 4bet, we can eliminate the junk out of a polarised 3-bet range like 10-5s etc, with the top of his range being AK, JJ-QQ , and suited connectors and the bottom end. All small pocket pairs are folding (which I think would have flatted the raise to set farm) as we have pretty bad odds here.

When the flop comes 7d3d4h AK is going to fold most of the time against a half pot bet, and with the pot this large floating is a pretty bad idea, unless you think villain is 4betting light, as he is going to double barrel the turn with overpairs and his strong aces. I think this narrows the heroes range to TT, JJ, QQ and any two diamond suited connectors. However, as he calls the river with no flush draw possible, I think he must have flopped a pair or a straight on the flop - 56 of any suit, 67 of any suit. The only diamond hand he could have here is 56 of diamonds flopping the nuts which I think he will flat all the time induce bluffs - however I think 56 and 67 (now 2 pair) are going to reraise the turn to try to get the villain pot commited, stacking against overpairs. Therefore it seems to me hero is playing pot control with an overpair - I think either jacks or queens but I think he might have 5bet queens preflop as hero could have 4bet light, so because he flatted I say pocket jacks. It's so hard to determine a hand without reads on the players :P

AA with the A :diamond:, preflop 3b standard for value with flatting ip vs some aggro guy who 4bets much and bets postflop a lot, so call flop with giving villain chance to barrel scarecards, and yea, call turn and river as well... :f_biggrin:

Hero 3bet range pre can be TT+ AJs
Flop range same.
Turn I think he can call with TT+
River I dont think he can call with TT or JJ if he dont have some reads. So a give to hero KK.
UTG can have AKs. maybe he try to bluff him out.

Hero have KK. Maybe Kd Ks

Seems like a reasonable 3b bluff PF. Hero decides to call, given odds & position (perhaps other reads who knows). Flops GS + a nut backdoor, hits turn calls down easy game.

I also like brokesobrokes A4dd but i'll stick with my Ah5h

Solid 3b pre, nice odds to call 4b with this hand. Standard float on flop. Turn, utg doesn't rep straights, can't have sets, so we're only beat by QQ+ --> call. River, we've got a bluff catcher but we have a read villain is a nit and isn't valuejamming QQ+ here and hence only has bluffs on this runout.

Spoiler

I can insert reads when necessary, right? :f_biggrin:

smth like QQ-AA...

preflop: I guess hero wanted to bet for value with a good hand.

flop: so it is 4-bet pot. Hero might think that there won't probably be anything to do with straight, so flop didn't help UTG. A usual contbet 1/2 pot. Her may realize that if he raises this bet only better hands will answer, so he decides to call down all the streets.

turn: same story

river: only 5 has straight, but probably it is unlikely that opp has it, so he decides to call.

KK,
Hero didn't make a 5-bet, because it would be too strong. Later streets hero let oponent to bluff or make a value bets with 10 10, JJ,QQ. thats all

BB stack shows that he's can be approached as weak player, so 3betting on smaller size Hero is inducing BB to c/r his 3bet as also getting value from UTG 3bet calling range. UTG 4bet range should be pretty caped to premium hands and if Hero 5bets UTG will fold a lot of hands that he dominates atm.
As board runs low, Hero calls down all streets.
