Resteal light-ish with QJs vs. winning reg. at $1.50 45-man

Guy was pretty tight so thought he might fold a lot of raising hands that he wasn't shoving. Is this play okay here as a light-ish re-steal? Figured he should be shoving with the stack sizes after him (in terms of tourney adj. BBs) so thought he may be trying a sneaky steal against unknowns, as though he was assuming players would be poor and not think about re-stealing?

My personal thoughts looking at the HH now are that maybe I should have sensed a bit more strength from the raise rather than the shove, especially seeing as how my notes put the player down as a winning reg. in these SnGs (over a small sample size) but then again I think at the time those notes were what made me think he had the ability to fold.

You have v little fold equity, look at the odds he is getting.

He also shouldn't be opening wide with his stack from that position.

Hey MBJUK!

No fold equity + tight villain + villain is not deep stacked = easy muck!

You can jam a few pps like 66+, kq, aj+ or something like that!

Hey MBJUK =)

If your opponent was tight he obviously had a fairly tight opening range anyways. Therefore you won't have a lot of fold equity against his already strong range.

At the same time your stack is very small. Too small for a resteal. You will only have fold equity with such stacksizes when open pushing. For a solid resteal 15 to 25BB would be preferable.

The spot itself isn't too bad. However, you should have a bigger stack and your opponent should be a bit looser as well.

As played you won't get many folds out of your opponent (if any).

Asaban
