Opp is unknown when played hand. I think it's very easy hand, post it to just be sure I'm right. What can opp ch-r on such a dry board? Sets, doppers, may be sometimes low wrap if he had this, and sometimes hands like Jxxx (QJT8 for example). I'm way behind sets and doppers, and near flip vs wrap and Jxxx. Never way ahead. So easy bet-fold? Especcially vs unknown opp.

ps Sometimes I just limp behind with weak aces, but on btn with 1 suit I think its 100% raise.

I'll take a swing at this.
See if skovid agrees.

Preflop: call and preserve implied odds..
The reasoning is: You have one suit and thats pretty much it. The four does help abit but not much.
I would like this more if you are in position, because then you have more room to maneuver postflop.

Another argument for not 3beting trashy aces OOP: If villian is defending top50% of is range versus trashy aces, AA72 in this example (which isn't far off from your hand).
Villian will on average make a profit of 7.5 bb without even knowing it. And when he calls the 3bet he will make a profit of 11bb.

On the flop: SPR ~7
I think it's close between folding and calling. It's an unknown and he's putting you on aces most of the times and usually shipping light.
Due to the high spr i think it's a fold, i don't think you are on the above the ~47% often enough.

With that beeing said:
Everything could have been avoided by calling preflop, keeping the spr high and keep the implied odds.

Who's skovid? ?(

You missread 2 important things about the hand. First of all, hero did not 3bet, but isolated 2 limpers which is definetly fine. 2nd of all, he has position, so your statement that he's 3betting trashy AAxx oop doesn't make sense here .

So there's no reason villain would put hero on AAxx here. His raise here is strong. It's a good spot to bluff raise just because hero has to fold a lot of his range here, but i doubt villain was planning that here, and imo it's J6xx+ here every single time.

Good fold.

Typical.

Missread the hand completly.
Came to the right conclusion though, which is a +.

On that note: Nice fold!
