Greenstein breaks Ivey down

Can anybody remember the 7 (i think 7?) points that Barry Greenstein attributed to Ivey as an explanation for why he crushes poker?

For example they were like 'mathematical knowledge', 'patience', etc...

I can't remember where I heard or read it now, but I have come across it a couple of times, so it must be out there somewhere!

Yeah, thanks guys, I have done about 200 internet searches but no dice!

Now I think about it I'm sure I read it in Ace on the River, so that might explain why it's not online (haha, because nobody's read that book).

I'll have another look and update the thread if I find it

Cheers man, there was a tiny bit on Ivey (towards the hour mark, maybe just before) actually one or two quite interesting points about him (e.g. even when he eventually became a good player, he still struggled a lot to win in the big games for a while)

Still struggling to find these 7 points though! I know I've seen/heard them somewhere...maybe Norman Chad just mentioned it in passing at a WSOP, might explain why there's seemingly no written evidence anywhere.

Flicked through Ace on the River last night briefly but didn't spot anything

Oh crazy...I think I just found it scrawled on an old notepad.

Yep, just googled it and came up with this on a twoplustwo forum:

Norman Chad: I asked Barry Greestein why Phil is so good, and he says, 'he 's a 6 tool player: good focus, introspection, self control, recall, qualitative mathematical understanding of the games, and logical thinking in post hand analysis.

So it was Norman all along... I would post the link but not sure about the rules on that. just google that quote though if you want to see the original page.

Cheers for all the help everyone!!
