Well, hello again!

Sorry for not being around when you needed me!

So, what have I been up to and what have I learned?

[x] Prepared all legal stuff for the new job, which took quiet a bit of time and effort
[x] Realized I won't be able to take a vacation for quiet some time, therefor =>
[x] Took a vacation
[x] Learned Italians are morons as they decided in the end that Czech market is too small and non dynamic, so they will not invest in it and droped their interest in me
[x] Didn't play much, cuz was saaaaaaaaad

Bit sad, cuz I started looking forward to the new experience. But at least I have broadened my horizons and realized that I actually do want to do something which involves interaction with poeple. What seems to be the closest to me in doing that atm is joining a real estate firm of my brother-in-law. Closest as in not so close, but talking abt it.

Anyways, for the time being gotta stick to poker.
Back to nl25 unfortunately as the vacation had bit bigger hit on the BR than I planned and I have bunch of stuff I am gonna have to spend money on in near future (xmas, school tuition, ALCOHOL)

It's bit shitty, cuz I already started to feel somewhat comfy on 50 and having bit troubles now focusing 100% on 25, getting out of line bit too frequently, but will have to pull myself together obv.

Was thinking of asking for a stake, but not so sure it's the best idea.. Probably i wld be up for it with someone who would want to guide me a bit with it too, but I dont really feel like anyone wld be interested in that.

Add Vacation:

Went to Cape Verde w gf. Well, I do recommend If you are looking for amazing pristine beach and crystal clear water. It has that touch of a paradise!
Only downer is that its prob bit too expensive destination for young poeple so the partylife and the general evening posibilities arent too hot there.
Oh yea, if you are kiting, then u d be loving it too.

We obv enjoyed it to the max anyways, but since we r young we shall drop exotic destination and do Greece, Ibiza or something similary hectic in the fun way.

OK, so, interesting thing happened to me today.
My lovely lady prepared wonderful meal and then as always we went to relax and digest the food in vertical position comfortably on the bed. Shortly after she dozed off. Well, I knew she was tired as fuck from school so I was happy for her and wanted her to get nice rest. She always notices when I leave the bed and wakes up immediately, so my only option was to lay/sit quietly.

After a while when my mind quitted sending me the urges to go and be active I started to feel super mindful and did some hardcore conscious thinking. Pretty awesome, will try to do that more often.

What did I think about and what did I figure out? Let me divide it in blocks:

Poker is absolutely amazing job and I am total asshole for not treating it that way
Who are we kidding, at least in here, if I were to get a job for which I would be considered qualified, I would be lucky to get $800 for 160hrs of doing something super shitty.
With just 100h on silly nl25 with silly 3bb/hh winrate one gets to ~$1200
Those are pretty convincing numbers, so what the F is the deal.
Why isnt everyone playing the game ? ♦
nl25 is peanuts and I def aim higher than that and am pretty sure I can get higher if I start treating it properly..

Time managent
I waste too much slacking. I know that for a fact, which probably is a good start. That needs to be improved, how? I will try to monitor what on and how much time I spend on it. Then will gradually cut it down minute by minute till I can call myself productive and efficient.

Planning
I will introduce careful planning to my life. Setting reasonable daily/weekly/monthly goals considering all other aspects and plans and fulfilling them is of utmost importnace.

Get into MTT world
Thats where the lifechanging happens, so I need to involve myself in it.
Obv wont just jump straight into SM, but I should get active on sundays.
Thorek has pretty cool concept of basically freeroling the tourneys for 15%. That seems like a really good way how to start while not taking too much risks yet keeping the possible results decent.

Languages
Thats more of a longterm goal. After I get comfortable with managing poker time, I shall restart learning languages. I spoke chinese pretty well after I spent 6 months in China when I was 17. I remember shit now and thats a fucking shame.
Spanish comes as a second choice as I was learning that for a year at uni.

This is the last thing I thought abt, I started experimenting with min 5betting and theoretically, it makes so much sence to me?

Esp IP it seems wonderful. They wont really try to float our 5b OOP, they prob wont get too frisky and fancy and try to 6b bluffshove as in their mind we pretty much have enough EQ to call w anything we decided to 5b with.

SO => we dont lose value w premiums, and we save $$ on our bluffs?

anyone with me on this ?

yeah, i always found the world of min3b/min4b/min5b fascinating (min3b all your continuing range in buvco and bbvsb is also pretty interesting), though i've always been too much of a chicken to try it out for any real amount of time

i think it's definitely a legitimate line ip, but i'm too scared to try it out oop.
maybe do it in an opponent basis? i guess that a min5b gets a lot of credit from most decent regs, even when you are oop.

I'd say one of the most noticeable changes in regs play since BF was smaller 4bet sizings which did naturally lead to flatting 4bets and min 5betting becoming an option.

More or less everyone flats 4bets IP and OOP these days. And so far only better or more aggro players have min5b in their arsenal @ 100.

1 year or less and everyone will be doing it too.

And yea, poker is the best job in the world when you run good, and worst one when running bad. I'd say you shouldn't measure jobs only by their income. Job satisfaction > income imo.

As long as you believe in the product, Im pretty sure its a way to go. You will enjoy offering and obv have way higher chance in selling it than some random dude, who just presents it, because its his job ♦

@5bing: talked a bit with Manu last night and it def is legitimate strategy. He also enlightened me into some other concepts that one should apply to his game to be ahead of the competioton, so THANks! ♦

Tomaloc: yea, pretty much every decision in every spot should be based on how we view that particular opponent. But the 5bing seems to be valid as a general game plan, so dont be scared and try it out.

but yea, I suppose flexibility is something I value the most. Cant really see myself satisfied with 9-5 job, even if it was something super interesting like... something super intersting ♦ I cant even think of something interesting enough to make it reasonable ♦

Yea was at nl200 but had to settle some emotional issues which affected my play so I sort of took like a 3 month break and withdrew close to maybe 70% of my roll and decided to drop all the way down back to nl25 to rebuild that confidence.

It's awesome that you're trying to improve your planning and time management and I LOVE your approach (tracking your time to see where it goes) :).

You have to be careful with one thing though - productivity not only about managing your time, it's also about managing your energy and willpower, which are very important - if you are very tired and don't have the will to do something, then having plenty of time alone won't help you get productive.

I talk about a lot of these things in my productivity guide and videos, and especially the videos on motivation, goal setting and the visual planning series will help you a lot.
