I think I'm suffering from some kind of post-book poker hangover at the moment. I just can't motivate myself to play or blog. On the bright side I have started playing badminton again, and I'm going to play chess this season. That's the bright side for me, not really for my blog. Maybe it's run its course now. I'm feeling quite inhibited by the fact that I'm not anonymous anymore.
Here's a thing. Manu mentioned something about PokerSnowie to me a while ago, and I didn't really think much of it, but I hadn't realized that it's been created by the people who wrote Snowie for backgammon, which revolutionised that game. These neural networks are really powerful. I discovered this by listening to

from about 13 minutes onwards. Really eyepopping stuff. I have plenty of opinions about this, but the main one is that poker is going to be fundamentally changed over the next five years. One limitation of their approach is that it only uses three different bet sizings: 0.5 pot, pot or 2x pot. Another is that it tries to play GTO and doesn't exploit. I'd strongly recommend listening to that podcast. I will try the 10 day free trial soon and report back.
