I just started today, have had videos for 2 years but never had either time and/or place to workout.

Now I'm paying all my expenses with 4h of poker daily and I have rented a huge room so I'm going with this finally.

Day 1 fit test results:

SWITCH KICKS 50
POWER JACKS 44
POWER KNEES 94
POWER JUMPS 25
GLOBE JUMPS 12
SUICIDE JUMPS 13
PUSH-UP JACKS 19
LOW PLANK OBLIQUE 44

How to do day three of insanity when your quads and shoulders are giving up on you even on everyday tasks? I will find out in about an hour

Anyone did this insanity all 60 days, is it so that you're sore on every workout or are those "recovery" videos really turning down tension a bit?

I did insanity for 60 days and the sore will get less for sure.

Hey, thanks for replies. Yeah, I was sore for the second and third day only, then my body adjusted like I've never experienced before, soreness went away over night completely.

I did 9 days then I got really ill, had 1h sleep in total in 4 days. In this condition i did 2 more days but could not go on. Right now I'm in a situation where I missed Friday and Saturday workout of week 2, I'm still on antibiotics but I feel fine so today I'm starting to repeat week 2 and continue on, think that's a good idea? I think missing 2 days then repeating entire week should be fine.

As for body parts, quads and shoulders are giving up on me everywhere. I'm not surprised by quads, they're huge muscles and used a lot, also I didn't train them that much throughout my life. But shoulders are a different story, one of my strongest parts, I could do advanced tucked planche for 10 sec before starting insanity yet keeping my arms straight during those in-outs and triceps exercises and all the crap is killing me

Also, I'm interested how long into that "warm-up" that is on most days of first 4 weeks did you handle? There's 3 circuits of exercises with no rest between, each circuit is the same but you go faster. My last one was the best and I only did 2 circuits, then I started taking pauses often when you're actually supposed to give it your most, getting faster

Great to hear you picked up the insanity virus.

Do not worry to much if you miss a few work outs when you realy have a good excuse (like being ill). First 60 days a missed a handfull of work outs but later on in the 2nd and 3rd round i did not worry to much when i realy could not work out.

About the amount of breaks, whahahaha i still have to take them. Don't know cause i mix it up with p90x now but when i did worked out p90x the other day and did a ton of push ups the push up parts of insanity kills me the next day. But like Tony Horton always says, do your best and forget the rest.

I would not look to much at the numbers etc, as long as you push yourself to the max each time you will do just fine. I did so much insanity over the past 1,5 years and still i can hardly make it to the shower once am finished ;)

Feel free to ask me anything if you like to know more

ATM am 1,5 week away from finishing my90 days p90x/insanity combo challenge.

Feel better then ever before and i still work out as hard as a can. Some days i push harder then the other day cause am still human but overall am pretty happy with the results the last 90 days.

I don't see as much changes as the the first p90x challenge but if i push on my biceps or triceps they are harder as ever before.

I will take a few weeks off to recharge, in these weeks i do the household tasks i skipped all the time. I do some light workouts like push up and pull up challenges on my android phone. Then first thing in 2014 i will start with body beast.

After this challenge i already have a 2nd lined up

Did you try some advanced flexibility, stretching videos?

Yoga seems most appealing here but the thing with yoga is that you have defined poses, if you can't do one, you just can't. I'd do yoga only when I'm already "well-stretched", beginner stuff in yoga just isn't as good IMO.

It would be better to have some program where you use sports stretching, but designed by some gymnast who knows what he's doing, similar to insanity, like 60 days to flexible body. I'd like this a lot and you can combine it with exercises easily!

Just did 2nd weeks "pure cardio" Saturday video. Off to do abs video. Managed to get through 2 cycles of warmup routine and first two exercises of third cycle without stopping. Skipped heisman completely then in that 3rd cycle though . Very very wet, I just can't support myself with arms anywhere on my body, simply slips, I've never been this sweaty in my life before and I've done some crazy shit!

Also today is the first day that I managed to get completely through all the stretches with perfect form. So on one hand I'm improving and I'm proud of this, on the other I freaking skipped a whole lot of exercising, sometimes my heart couldn't take anymore, at times lungs were crashing and quads giving up in places. I imagine freaking robot made to do these exercises would have troubles performing it all

I've got a tip. Don't work out next to chairs, beds, couches and stuff if you can avoid it, every time I see it, I have an instinct to lie down so bad.

Just this one more video now and then fit test on Monday. I'm not even sure I'll be better than first time, I really pushed myself and surely will be fatigued.

He man i recognize everything you mentioned, like i said in some other post you might think this tanja is a robot, she makes it look so all easy.

I work out in the living room and some time i do sit down at the couch when i get the feeling my heartrate goes over the top.

Also be carefull with all the sweating, the other week i missed a spot of sweat on the floor when i was cleaning it up during a workout so next move a nearly felt on the ground cause it was all slippery

Yeah i see what you mean with sweating like you never sweat before. I realy hate it when i get sweat in my eyes The salty water realy irritates in your eyes.

I did not do any extra yoga or flexing stuff i just followed the program. Your pains will get less after a few weeks.

Wich excersise you hate the most and wich one is your favorite?

I just hated those power jumps, i love all the push up stuff

SWITCH KICKS 55 (50)
POWER JACKS 50 (44)
POWER KNEES 70 (94)
POWER JUMPS 32 (25)
GLOBE JUMPS 8 (12)
SUICIDE JUMPS 15 (13)
PUSH-UP JACKS 25 (19)
LOW PLANK OBLIQUE 54 (44)

Fit test 2 results up there. I'm doing better now, only 10 minutes to recover and I can sit and type now... last time >30 minutes to stand up and then some lying down on sofa.

I don't hate or love any exercise in particular. What I do hate is when you get like 15 exercises without stopping and they're all heaviest on your quads. Then I'm just thinking - omg just fucking rearrange the workouts order and I will be able to perform so much better, this way you just kill my quads and I have to rest a lot! But in the end the ones you hate the most are the ones that are hardest for you and give you the best results. :)

When I started I really didn't like high knees in warm-up part. Now they're no problem.

And god damn that guy with 40+ push-up jacks in a minute. RESPECT!
I'd probably fail to do that completely rested and fresh.

I took 30-45 minutes and tried to find some good stretching program, nothing like that available, I guess people are just not interested in that sort of thing enough to make it profitable.

EDIT: I really really like that cardio abs video. Static and dynamic working on the abs and it's obviously for functional strength in every way. I will definitely be keeping that video in my exercise routine once I'm done with insanity.

Today i finished my 2nd p90x challenge

So in the last 19 months i did 150 days of insanity and 180 days of p90x . Pretty sick, i could have done more days of working out but i had a knee injury wich took me some time to recover from.

Am not arrogant but am pretty fucking proud i made it again. Yeah i missed a few lessons here and there, yeah sometimes i only gave it 80% instead of 100% but he i still did it.

Overall am realy happy with the results so far, since i used all the p90x worksheets i could realy see i made progress since the weights i used for certain excersices increased steadily. Am at 209 pound and 18% bodyfat, am 6,43 ft tall. 95kg and 1,98 meter

I take a break of a few weeks in wich i will only do a pull up and push up challenge wich i downloaded on my smartphone. You just work out for max 15 minutes a day wich gives me more time to do some stuff in my house etc.

Januari 2014 i will start a new challenge, body beast.

This program also realy focus on eating the right stuff at the right moment, this is a sort of building i guess. I will start with the bulk phase is wich i have to eat 3200 kcall

Yeah am still alive

I just finished my 2nd week of the body beast program. I realy love this program, it is just old school weightlifting stuff, 6 times a week around 50 minutes.

One thing i only have to focus on a bit more is making sure i eat enough. Am in the build phase of the program so i should eat 6 meals a day of about 550 kcall. I eat every 3 hours wich drives my wife crazy ;) and my collegues at work do not understand it anymore since i was eating crackers before.

Anyway after 2 weeks i already feel and see the difference, i give a 100% all the time i train and i plan not to skip any lesson for the remaining 10 weeks.
