I think i played 30-40 mtt yesterday.

Had a good run in the Big 22 and the Hotter 55

As we discussed, playing mtt for a living is insane. Too much variance

Yea, but many pros do it because they have all the time in the world and there is insane value in MTTs compared to cash/stts etc

Big update guys :)

Sooo...

I have been playing nl100 zoom for the past two weeks with decent success.

Last night i decided to have my last session and then take a 1-2 month break to focus on non poker-stuff that I need to get done, mostly preparing for exams + submitting job applications.

The session ended quite well, I think it was +6 BI.

Today my poker break began, and I started getting things done. In the afternoon, I was mostly doing routine jobs such as printing docs, filing etc and I got really bored.

So I said , what the heck lets fire up a few mtt's so the time passes quicker. I logged on Stars, went to the tournament section, applied a filter for turbo mtt's and registered in 4 of them. One of them was the Hot $33. Oh, btw I am on a new laptop (a Macbook Air) so I don't have HM2 yet.

There I was, on my desk, doing some routine jobs and playing a few mtt's on the side. After an hour or so, I noticed that I was doing really well in the Hot 33. I had a top 20 stack. So I stopped what I was doing and focused on the mtt.

By the next hour I had the third biggest stack. Unfortunately I lost 2 big all-ins and was left with 10bb. I was 20/27 and then 18/21. Then I shoved a few good hands and doubled up without getting called. In a matter of minutes I moved up to top 5 stacks and then I was 1/15 with a 2:1 chiplead over the second stack.

At the final table I played really well, putting massive pressure on my opponents. And finally I was heads up with even stacks vs a very good opponent. I searched him on a website and found out that he had 19% ITM and big winnings.

The heads up match was very even as both of us were playing really good.
After 20 hands, there was a crucial hand. I have the hand on boom atm, but I will try to convert in a readable format soon. Villain put me all in OTR, I hero called and I was good!

Villain was left with 3bb and next hand I finished him.

First place was a whopping $7k

Now it's time to CELEBRATE!

Saw that hand, was railing you. Good thing you had a timebank because it took awhile. Indeed villain's action doesn't make sense. I think straights and Kx pair would bet smaller on river for value?

Gratz ofc! I am going to add some turbo MTTs now along my session :f_biggrin:

When we take the donk flop, check turn line we pretty much have to call any river.

Well yes, his sizing doesnt make much sense imo. He would def bet smaller with Kx, straights etc OTR as we cant really have anything decent that can call him.

Thanks ragney for advising me to only play turbo/hyper turbo mtts :)

Hopefully you ship something big in the coming days!!

:spade:

Yeah think I would also call.

His sizing is ofc large, usually I'd not take much notice since some people shove Kx here vs a weak range, get a light call knowing they don't rep all that much and take down the tourny and others bet small to extract value and edge out a lead vs the weak range. At this point in the tourny though, he MUST assume alot of f/e putting your tourny on the line, and as you say a $2000 decision, so it probably weights him in favour of bluffs.

Ofc he doesn't rep too much OTR and your donk F line pretty much owned him. Actually really like the donk F c/c T c/c R. It's so cool because you make him float wide OTF then pwn him hahaha

NH man WP GG! +7k.

Hopefully you crush 100 over sample now :)

I have an idea who it is too... :P

See? My money wasn't bad luck after all :P

Funny thing was that after I came home from partying I regged a few small mtt's and won first place in a $3.3r and a $27 knockout one, for $1k total.

So 31st of October was almost an $8k pay day :)

From now on, the last day of the month is mtt day _biggrin:

Oh BsB, remember that hand i sent you where I won a 600bb pot at zoom100? I was OTB with AA, SB 3bets, I 4bet and bet three streets on a low board with two spades and the guy hero called with QQ

I was heads up with that guy on the $3.3r. Last hand of the match I limped the BTN and bet all three streets as I had flopped a pair and turned two pair. He hero called me with 4th pair . Some people never learn

Thanks man :)

I really liked the line as well. Tanked on all streets tbh, especially OTR but thankfully I made the correct play.

I think Villain played fine, he should get a lot of folds OTR

It would have sucked a bit if I lost the first place as I had almost a 5:2 chiplead vs 2nd biggest stack when the final table started.
