Hey pleno1

How is your HUD going? Did you finish your popup? If yes, I'd be proud to be your first customer :)

Hi, I'm wondering the same thing mooNkr (opening ranges at zoom 25nl and below, esp CO and BTN) is as well. I normally play SH games on regular tables and having trouble figuring out what my default game should be versus unknowns at the zoom tables. I normally open around 30 UO in CO and 50 UO in the BTN on average but was wondering by how to expand that for zoom, and if I should also tighten up EP and MP opening ranges by a tad (remove smaller PP, lower SC's as we dont expect folds and get most value from TP type hands going to showdown).

Also I watched your 10nl zoom video from a year ago and wanted to ask what is your through process when your 3Betting light with small raises and they call OOP and you go to the flop. From what I understand you just play in position with the initative and them going to the flop with a weak range (capped as their better hands will have 4B back OOP). What I'm having trouble with here is playing them postflop. What boards are we going to be cbetting here? And what would we consider to be value since if they are bad enough to call a 3B oop, what they perceive to be good enough to continue on the flop would most likely be pocket pairs, and draws I think. I know it sounds really silly but I have no idea how to exploit that...I am clearly overlooking something there.

What's the biggest piece of advice you could give to someone who wants to move up through the microstakes as soon as possible, without playing a style of gameplay which may be high in variance? Should they be playing on websites that have a fishier player pool, or websites that have more games/bonuses (such as Pokerstars)?

At the same time, how can somebody create a style with less variance? I've noticed that I can have very good days, or very bad days at the microstakes. I'd love to be able to have a consistent 45 degree graph in the + zone, but don't seem to be capable of it. What's one big mistake that's often made at the microstakes which could result in such high variance?

I've watched your free video here, along with a live stream you did on Justin.tv, and find it very informative. I've noticed you didn't use a hud on these videos, which is good in my opinion. Do you think any winning player could still be a winning player at the microstakes without the use of a HUD?

Thanks again PLeno. _love:

Hey bro!

I'd suggest

76s+
JTs+
55+
ATs+
AQo+

As a tight solid range for a kinda beginner.

Fr advanced I'd add in one tappers like 97s etc

Hey

So generally just think about their range. Lets not say a fish but a passive bad reg.

He will call with Broadway's and pocket pairs normally so lets say the board is

652. We can't really put pressure on his range here on basically every run out he will have a few sets that he will let us know about but the ret will be weak showdown hands. If the turn is ever j or higher and we bet 3 times he will really struggle to call you down.

The main reason we 3bet is to isolate him against us at smaller stakes people love to see flops just like a live game, so they will call from the b,inds really wide and now we don't have the weak regular to yourself.

Once he adjusts to you he will either

- open fold too much
- fold to too many 3bets because he knows how tough it is to be against such an aggro reg like yourself! This will filter to bvb and even btn v b,inds to so,e degree so as well as the auto profit initially we also manage to build a great dynamic.

One thing with these guys is they won't put a lot of money in without a great hand (good for us and our red line) but they also will now know that we are a maniac and we get more action on our good hands, that's where we start trying to learn how to leverage sizings and put net sizing pressure onmourmopponents.

Hey man

I would actually suggest to use a HUD. Absolutely! Any information you turn down is obviously minus ev but in those videos I was trying to illustrate points. Also in n,10 I never have any sample, size so HUD is irrelevant.

My advice would be to play! People talk so much in poker. You need to wake up and be the grinder. If you want to be a cash game grinder, don't even dabble in mtts, watch YouTube videos of wsop or stuff like that. Just dedicate yourself to cash games and really try and push on. 2014 is coming up set yourself a goal for before then and grind to it then in 2014 set yourself a LNG yer goal and then 10 things you're going to do to get there.

You sound like you have the motivation and passion to succeed, now lets get in the game and start crushing.

I'd suggest Pokerstars generally. My favourite site for basically everything.

Hey man

Thanks varune!

I really want to illustrate this point to everybody. I get a lot of people complaining that I play loose and too aggro. We checked stats at end of video and I played 21/16 really super normal stats people really struggle to understand the difference between tight nd bad. If you're not taking plus ev spots then you aren't playing tight! You're playing bad!

It's a thing that has bugged me in coachings and videos over the last 6 months or so because when I'm doing stuff it's not to show off or do anything differently I'm doing things that I think show a profit and thus are the best line.

Hope you enjoy it anyway bro

Thank you for the response. :)
I'm tempted to play at both PokerStars and Party Poker at the moment, simply since I get PokerStrategy points at Party Poker. I'll consider my options.

Regarding your live streams, and people saying you play too loose, I was actually amazed to see how tightly you played UTG and OOP with certain hands. For me, I used to raise 21% of hands UTG. That's not to say I was raising rubbish (it was rubbish relative to position though), since my range was any decent-ish broadway (QTo included), 22+, 98s+.
That's changed massively since I've watched your videos. Now I'll fold most small PP's from UTG unless there's a fish who will call down with any pair for three streets. I'll fold all the UTG garbage (like QTo, KJo, KQo at times, ATo as well), and still play 98s+.

I think people have only started complaining that you play loose because of how your range looks during the videos. Since you're opening wider in the BTN, and defending BB's to 2x opens loosely (A8o was an example I've just seen in the recent livestream), to me it would seem as though people have this idea that you're just playing any random crap OOP, when I've just seen you fold 44 in the SB to a UTG open, and seen you fold KTo vs. an open, which seems to be far from the loose approach.

It's hard to explain, but I think that basically because your range isn't 22+ and broadways, you appear to play looser, when in reality your range simply isn't static, and you play hands that you can play profitably at a frequency which won't make them unprofitable to play.

Just my 2c's.

I'll definitely be making a new goal for 2014. :) I'm hoping to start back at 5NL, and be at either 100NL or 200NL by the end of the year! It will take a lot of grinding to get there, I'm sure, but I definitely love having my ability challenged, as succeeding through difficult challenges helps me improve as a player and as a person (when it comes to self confidence).

Thank you for the response Pleno!

What should be your calling and stacking ranges againts midstackers 3bet. They are usually 3betting more but i'm always hiting into their top ranges I think. Need to fix that, because i bleed money there

Hey Pleno,

Any advice vs 20bb shorties playing like 22/22. I hate giving them action but I always end up re-shoving garbage on the bastards.

Should I just read up on SSS here & see what they're up to? so far it seems some of them get any PP, AQ+ in preflop ...

Cheers.

hey Pleno1,

First of all great thread and effort, so thank you :)

I am concerned that I might be loosing too much with one pair, so I filtred hands at showdown, but I couldn't find any info about what the standard range of winrate should be.
my overall sample is around 1 million and I am winning 6.84bb/100.

could you tell me whether my winrate with one pair is standard or am I getting stubborn too often?

How do your 3bet ranges both ip and oop change when

- The open raiser is short?

- There is one or more caller?

- The opener is a fish?

Is there a chance you could post the word document with the different ranges somewhere in order for us to download?

All the best,

Hmmm this is really hard as I have no way of sending to 200 people. Let me try and upload everything onto the forum AFTER the bootcamp has finished.

Can You post link to this word documents?
I can't find it.

When do you continue to barrel on complete blanks? I usually barrel scare cards or cards that improve my equity, but when the bottom card pairs for example I don't have many bluffs when I only bet cards that improve my equity or range

hey riverdiver!

so, in this spot i guess that cards that improve my equity are A an J, and scare cards are all broadway cards. but im still not sure if those cards are still good for barreling, since they also improve his range?

so overall this spot is not to good to continue barreling, since there aro no really good turn cards?

still feel kind of confused in this spot... ?(
