like your updates, keep it up and GL with SNE ![]()
btw how good are you at dota2? if your experienced we could play a game or two if the timing is right. i've been playing dota since warcraft 3, something like 5yrs?
well assuming you are european, there is going to be lots of lag. Since you asked, I made a short post on my dota stats
http://galvinbay.net/2013/11/06/dota/
I have only been playing dota 2 for a few months (since august). I did play Eul's Dota in Reign of chaos, and a little bit of 5.84c in The Frozen Throne but I never really gotten into it. I always had a prefence for 1v1 games because you didn't have to blame your teammates for your losses. Also did play some Three Corridors and Footmen Vs Grunts which were also pretty fun IMO.
Yesterday I was feeling kinda bored so I played some Chinese Chess online with my buddy and I raped him 4-1. Feels great to win at some of the games I used to play in Secondary school.
im a bit lazy and pressed for time today (It's 1530 and I still have not played a single hour). I'll just paste the 10 largest pots for yesterday here.

Just curious why so little on the flop? Any: A, K, T, 9, 7 can be action killer. Do you think they will call you more in this spot if you bet small? Let assume you bet 120 Flop, pot is 390, on the T you bet 320, River is 1030 and you have around 870 effective stack size left. Nice pot and nice stakes, gz!!
yes a larger bet probably makes more sense, i would halfpot headsup vs the BU though since he's short.

So this is my second losing day of the month (it's as good as a breakeven day though).
Coaching Deal
Some polish guy asked me to coach him with some sort of deal (I won't say who cos he doesn't want to get outed). I was pretty reluctant initially cos from personal experience, such deals are hugely in the favour of the student and the student can easily be free-rolling the coach but based on what he showed me I think he seems sufficiently organized and dedicated.
Anyway, I decided to opt for more of a shorter-term deal which will involve 30 hours of coaching in 3 months and I'll get profit share of his earnings for the following 3 months. The aim is to push his game up from NL25 to NL100 or maybe even NL200.
Some of my closer friends have asked me for help but they aren't sure whether they can actually do this for a living. The main purpose of this is to prove that I can teach/mentor well and that I can turn any hardworking individual into a winner.
Homework 1: Go work out your preflop ranges for calling and 3betting in blinds vs BU, using some guidelines.

I got no guidelines, but how'd I do? ![]()
I did one each for a 2bb and 3bb open.
Purple is defended by calling, yellow by 3b.
3bb open
Villian risks 3 to win 1.5 SB/BB need to defend at least 33.3% together
Spoiler
SB

2bb open
Villain risks 2 to win 1.5 SB/BB need to defend at least 42.8% together

I often read somethng like this, "to prevent BU profitable open ATC, blinds need to defend xx %"
Why blinds (sb and bb) have to prevent BU open profitable ATC? BU have position advantage, and by defend wide, blinds could be loose more than his share pot. Why not just defend very tight and let blind open ATC?
I know this is GTO's thing. Anyone care to explain?
During what times does nl1k zoom usually run? I almost never see people sitting there
@riverdiver: it runs way more often during weekend, and it runs at night, maybe 8-12 hours a day
@patszerdonk: if you can lose less by calling/3betting as compared to folding, then do that. if not fold. it's simple math and comparision of the EV of each decision.
@jules97: well I'm not going to bother reading that, no free coaching sorry

i did make a video on the topic of range construction though, you could watch that if you want some ideas on how to do that.
you also need to think about what you can call profitably and maybe use a polarized range for 3betting (but you can also add in some playable SCs and AXs type of hands esp vs guys who fold less)

Late update, was a little lazy yesteday. I'm going to update day 6 soon. So far it's going great, it's 5am and I'm watching Starcraft 2 WCS while playing some Zoom here and there. 4 hours played so far.

I'll try to catch up on some sleep today and maybe I'll play more like I do on a regular weekday, and take a breather on Monday. Games are so much better on Sun and Sat

Ended the one-week challenge with a bang. After that I treated my family to a nice dinner, bought a new mouse to replace my crappy Razer DeathAdder mouse with an AquilaX5 Armaggeddon, and got a nice foot reflexology massage.
I'll try to maintain the daily pace of 6000 VPPs so that I can free up some time in Decemember.
^Have DeathAdder as well, I'm ok with it but I'm looking for a good keyboard, any suggestions?
Was thinking of a Mechanical one, although I have never experienced one before. What keyboard you use/recommend?
