Hi,

you have waited a long time for this update but you will be rewarded for this! We have redeveloped large parts of the backend, so that the software is more stable now, runs faster and is better extendable.

Apart from that we have improved a ton of things. The most important features can be summarized as follows:

  • Undo/Redo implemented
  • Export/Import via XML, so that editing in text files is possible
  • Redesign with new colors, some new icons and a lot of other changes
  • Group colors are completely customizable now and can be stored/loaded from/to files
  • New hand histories importable

Moreover we have fixed a large amount of bugs, enhanced the usability and the user interface of the software and worked a lot for a more stable PokerRanger. You can find all the changes here: ChangeLog.

As always we are looking forward to your amazing feedback and your great ideas!
Have a nice day and a lot of fun with the new update :)

Hi!

Just downloaded trial version.

I select two ranges + a complete board. Then nothing happens in "Board hits" and "Two Player Board Hits", but the right stuff seems to be there in the other tabs. Do I miss anything?

Hi YohanN7,

do you use WindowsXP? This is only a display issue. There is a workaround, you can just go to the Option Menu and unselect "Hide Empty Lines in Evaluation Tabs". Then, you should be able to see the results.

Have a nice day,

Hi, thanks for the quick reply!

Yup, XP, suspected that myself.

Next problem: When I start it now, it says 0 days left on trial, downloaded yesterday.

Should I try to download a new trial instance? (You surely have mechanisms to disallow this.)

Another problem: Yesterday, the program was idling in the background. Then suddenly the CPU went up to 100%, and it was PokerRanger.exe.

Hi again,

the trial going down is very unusual. This happens, when something on the system changes or when the date of the system is changed.

In the trial dialog, there is an icon on the upper left corner. When you click on it, you will get a copy menu button. You can use this text and send it to us via e-mail, community tool or skype (you can get my skype nick, too, when you add me as friend and look into my profile). You can also paste this data here, it will not be of use for anybody else. :)

Then, we can reactivate your trial version. Reinstallation will not change anything.

We apologize for this inconvenience, thank you very much for your interest!
All the best,

The problem is very likely to be on my side. I kill one windows service running under svchost.exe every session, which has behaved badly lately. (Don't know which service yet, the taskmanager doesn't tell.)

Hi,

your trial version was still set to 6th of Dec. We have set it to 7th of Dec, but this will not change much. You should also make sure that PokerRanger has permissions to connect to the internet and that it has file and registry access. All of this could influence the license access.

If all of this does not help, we would suggest you to add us on skype. For that, just add us on the pokerstrategy community tool and then find our skype nick in the profile. You can also send us an e-mail with your skype nick to pokerranger@elypson.com. In my opinion, this is the fastest way to resolve this issue. Of course, other communication tools will work, as well. Just let us know which one is your favorite one.

We apologize for this inconvenience and thank you very much!
Have a nice day,

Things are working now :)

I don't know what could have caused this, (my astray windows service and my poor internet connection are suspects), best is to forget it.

The "Hits" tabs display properly with the workaround.

Thanks!

Hi,

the update is out now!

There are some new features:

  • New EV/FE Lines: There are x-bet/fold as well as x-bet/call lines for the x-bet/ship lines now. For example, that allows to convey both 4-bet/fold and 4-bet/call as reactions for a line 3-bet/ship. Moreover, reactions to check/raise involve bet/fold and bet/call now.
  • Range Weighting: Range weighting can be simulated with suits in a more comfortable way now. There are 25%/50%/75% buttons which select specific suits which are equivalent to those specific weights. For most of the use cases, this is sufficient for range weighting. Only, if range groups are used for postflop evaluations in conjunction with non-rainbow boards, it is necessary to temporarily add the suits back.
  • Group Suit Colorization: The new weighting system is also facilitated by the new group suit color system. For example, if 75% of the suits of AKo are in the red group and 25% of the suits of AKo are in the green group, AKo will be displayed 75% red and 25% green. This makes it easier to design ranges with groups for visualization purposes.

There are further features and a whole lot of bugs has been fixed as well. As always you can find the complete list in the ChangeLog.

Images can be found on Facebook.

We are looking forward to hearing your great feedback and wish you a lot of fun with the update,
have a nice day,

Hello.

A question:

I am making an analysis and let's say I selected some range on the flop which villain calls. Next I want to use the modified range on the turn (i.e. I don't want to see hands which he folded). I don't want to start again with my basic range which was selected preflop. What should I do?

Hi Djorkaeff7,

the basic idea in that scenario is that you define groups in the hand selection dialog. You can specifiy a basic range (say, preflop) and then narrow it down by creating groups. You can specifiy a parent group for each group and, that way, build entire hierarchies.

For example, you can specify some preflop range. Then, you can build some range which follows up on the flop. After that, a sub range to that range might be thinkable which only contains hands that do not fold on the flop.

In the EV/FE tab, you can use all the groups. If you have defined those ones in the dialog before, you can use those.

At the moment, this is the recommended way to use different range parts in the EV/FE tab.

Thank you very much for your interest and all the best!

Hi KKOOO,

there is an English PokerStrategy video for PokerRanger in general. It explains the EV/FE tab as well. Maybe, this helps you. :)

To your example:
1, 2) correct
3) correct, as well, but the rake calculation is an approximation based on PokerStars and may not be correct for PartyPoker
4) Player1 is the one whose action you would like to analyze, so yes
5) Since you want to analyze 3-bet/ship, you should also insert 3-bet/ship here and not raise/ship
6) Player1 has invested 1bb before the 3-bet (since he is the big blind), so this has to go into the "Player1 posts" field; Player2 has invested 3bb before the 3-bet, so this should go into "Player2 raises" field (this field appears, when you change the line to 3-bet/ship)
7) Those are the stack sizes just before the 3-bet; so, if hero has 34bb left, when he 3-bets (because he has invested one bb), 34 should go into his stack size, then
8) everything prior to the first action (= 3-bet), so this is sb + bb + raise = 4.5, correct :)
9) As your yellow box says, this should be 35 instead of 34
10) This is the part of villain's range that he folds to our 3-bet (at the moment raise, but as stated above, you should change the line to 3-bet/ship)
11) When you change the line to 3-bet/ship, this is correct. It's the range Player1 3-bets
12) This is the line villain calls against our raise, so it's his 3-bet/call range

Hopefully that helps. You are right that there should be more video material for the EV/FE tab, as it sometimes is not that intuitive. In the case you have not yet discovered it: There is also a text tutorial which might help you: http://www.pokerranger.net/Features/EVFECalculations

Thank you very much for your great interest and for making your questions that precise via your screenshot!

If you have further questions or ideas, do not hesitate to convey them!

All the best,
Eisflamme

infinitely grateful

I will watch the video and study how the tab EV/FE

thus would http://screencast.com/t/iE6CC2B84

It is the same result 3bet/ship and raise / ship :P

if I had a question ev + line but lower your ev
Ev example player1 "2" Ev player 2 "3"
although it must have a + EV range 3betpush more closed so that your calls with this range unprofitable.

thanks for everything

P.D excuse my English translator haha
I'll make some tables 3bet/push and compare it to other soft "crev"
