The sb v bb idea sounds good.
FWIW there is an interesting hand discussed on pokerstars pokerschool from a few days ago on that scenario with ike haxton coaching xflixx @ nl500 zoom.

Here's another topic idea.
Defending wide BTN opening ranges (~60% 2bb) raises from 3b's against aggressive polarized BB and also a depolarized SB.
Hola,
I will do the Hero SB 1st in topic for next coaching. I will try the same as last time, seminar like and see if my endurance is better. My main worry is I can't deliver as well towards the end but as long as you guys feel it's good it's great. You can already start posting hands. See you on Monday!
Manu.
My question is kinda basic, I just want to know how to construct an SB opening range vs. a villain who basically 3bets half a time and doesn't have a flatting range. I made a photo just to illustrate what I mean :
He's also aggro postflop, barrels a lot. I usually open JTo on SB but vs. this guy I find it hard because I don't want to 4b/f or call OOP. Should I just open a very tight range and widen my 4b/call range for value? I don't really have sample on him how much he folds, calls or jams vs. 4bets though.

Hero checks, BB bets $4.66, Hero calls $4.66
River: ($15.82) 3

Villain is a relatively aggro reg, 26/22 over ~700 hands. 21% fold to cbet, 56% turn afq, 53% river afq, 81% fold bb to sb steal.
I don't know what's up with this guy folding his BB so often, but him folding so often makes this a pretty mandatory open imo.
Flop cbet for value against a guy that doesn't fold seems pretty standard as well, and no need to make it very big on this board.
Considering him being pretty aggro on the turn and river, I decided to go into check/call mode after that, and let him fire away with his air. Considering this, it might be better to check/call three streets with a wide range instead (on a good runout)?
Unfortunately, I missed the last coaching. And now I think it's dissappeared from justin.tv? I'm pretty sure it was up not long after it went live, but is now gone.
Any recording or it gone forever?

I checked a few days ago, no recording, don't know why that is. We missed you at the coaching, nobody asked as many questions as you! ♦
Regarding Monday, I was thinking about talking BB vs SB when SB opens and we have to defend.. What range, why, how to approach postflop, etc. You can already start shipping hands for that. ♠_cool:
Ok, here's my thoughts and if you want it could maybe be used as a starting point for the coaching.
My range and why
Defending a 3bb SB open from BB, assuming a TAG opening SB about 40% and folding to 3bets a tad over 50%.
BB is risking 2.5bb to win 1.5bb, so 2.5/(2.5+1.5) = .62.5%
So we need to defend at least ~40% to stop him opening any two cards profitably. If we defend by calling, he's going to realize his equity sometmies, so we will need defend a little more than 40%.
Being IP, I can defend somewhat ok, so I'm picking a range of about 50%.
Total range defended, 49.9%
Total 3bet range, 15.4%, value part 7.2%, bluff part, 8.1%

Approach to postflop: Make him hurt for being OOP and daring to steal my blind!
Disclaimer: with equity and/or signs of weakness.
I couldn't really find too any interesting hands, it seems I just always flop top pair in BB v SB steals. ♠_biggrin:
But at least this one shows I show how I'm adapting my range given the circumstances.
Hand 1
Open Raise SB 37%
Fold to 3b in SB 68%
Call Preflop 3b OOP 20%
Hands 8k
Postflop fairly balanced when oop,
Except Probe turn 65%
Given those stats and reasons, my preflop defending range changes to the chart below.
Value 3b 4.2%
Bluff 3b 12.4%
Total 3b 16.6%
Total defended 47.5%

On top of that I also probably 3bet another 5-10% trash if it's not too obvious (i.e. I haven't been 3betting him every orbit his last 5 3 opens) because he folds so much.

hey everyone,
I am back from vacation and I'll be doing the coaching today. Start posting hands (as always, using weaktight links).

CO: 24/20, 500 hands
he was 3betting alot vs my MP, CO & BU (>20%)
fold to 4b 100% (4/4)
So Im looking at AQ (somewhat unlikely), QQ, KT and very unlikely bluff
+ the fact that the overbet is usually the nuts = easy fold?

SB: 19/15 400 hands
SB RFI: 58%
fold to 3bet 22% (9), 0/4 in SB
this was his 2nd 4bet overall
he tends to cbet alot (in 3b: 90% (9/10))

BU reggy 25/21 over 30 hands
What do you think about the line I took on F+T?
I guess I should bluff the River as well since I dont really have SDV with the K?
Speed on Ipoker
BU seems to be a Reg 22/22 over 9hands
What is the best line to take on the turn?
I dont really have a huge value checkraising range on the turn and I just have FEQ against weak pairs against which I have lots of equity anyways but on the other hand I've no SDV at all with 9 high so x/c sucks a little bit as well.

MP 21/17 badis reg he look kind passive but only 280hands. Fold to cBet only 15
Is that fold on river?

He is pretty tight and I feel like he is never bluffing there, can we fold this although we are at the top of our range?
