oye guys, I`m Bogdan, a romanian citizen living in your country (also working illegally, but don`t let it out of the trust circle, ok? :f_love: ).
I`m gonna start off by saying why I opened yet another blog here: mainly because I left the old one(s) (might be more, can`t remeber) rust in the romanian forums. why did I do that you ask? oh, you didn`t ask... I`m gonna tell you anyway: no real goals, posting rarely, no feedback and so on. It is called the way it is called because I want to make a change in my life, dump the laziness and be the man and the poker player I know I can be.
Also, chose the english forums to improve my mad engleeeshz skeelz.

On the poker related chapter, I busted my 50$ free, a few 10$ deposits _cool: and a few other rolls built from freerolls. why? poor study, no hand reviews plus tilt equals mayhem. My 'main game' was STTs, but the lack of time made me give cash a real try.

my short term goals
:club: move to NL10 at the end of may
:club: hand reviews every day
:club: get a sesion reviewed by a coach (and how do I do that?)
:club: feasting in the articles for NL provided by this website
:club: restarting insanity and finishing it this time
:club: making some friends around here maybe (sounds lame but I work 10 to 1 with 1 day off, so no real time for anything)

:club: reaching and keeping gold level monthly

long term goals
:club: 100k$ profit
:club: quitting job and moving alone
:club: poker as my only income
:club: getting married to emma stone _evil:

I didn`t set a goal to crush NL200 or NL400 in the long run, because if I`m goona keep doing what I have to do, I will crush all of them (right? right guys? come on...)

so, it seems I have the honor of replying first in this awesome blog. here`s the graph for the 8k hands i`ve played so far at NL4

I know it`s not a lot, but my time is limited and I`m trying to play only when I can focus and I`m rested.
going to review some of the big pots lost and play with some filters to see how I can reduce my non-showdown losses, maybe c-bet less on frikky boards and 3-bet less oop. here`s a hand from today`s session that`s bugging me:

Hand converted with online PokerStrategy.com hand converter:

Play hand

$0.02/$0.04 No-Limit Hold'em (8 handed)

Known players:
[tg]MP1$1.20:///////;MP2$4.15:///////;MP3$4.06:///////;CO$4.47:///////;BU$4.00:///////;SB (Hero)$4.02:///////;BB$7.79:///////;UTG2$2.48:///////;[/tg]

Preflop: Hero is SB with 7:d, 7:h.
6 folds, Hero raises to $0.12, BB calls $0.08.

Flop: ($0.24) A:h, A:d, 6:c (2 players)
Hero checks, BB bets $0.11, Hero calls $0.11.

Turn: ($0.46) A:c (2 players)
Hero checks, BB bets $0.22, Hero calls $0.22.

River: ($0.9) 2:s (2 players)
Hero checks, BB bets $0.86, Hero folds, BB gets uncalled bet back.

Final Pot: $0.9.

plan was to call any river, but the potsize bet got me thinking... what do you think?

Greetings Bogdan and welcome to blogs [again :) ]

(I wanted to be the second to be honoured to post here)

It seems some of your old ways remind me of myself, just sort of auto-piloting or drifting along? It does look like you've started here with a more positive and forward looking approach, so well done so far! :f_cool:

We'll see you at the other end of nl10 vey soon I hope.

P.S. Your English is exceptional already so no worries there.

Have fun,

Mal.

hey, didn`t post here because I was pretty busy at work, the other guy got sick and I had to cover his shifts. Played a few hands thou, but after 14-15 hours of work my concentration was at 3-4% and I donated a few stacks, got them back in fast fold anyways. Also read a few article concerning the big bad red line, seems I had some big leaks and was missing the opportunity to 2nd barrel quite often. gonna watch some more vids since at the time I finish work there are only 2 or 3 nl4 tables, moving up to nl10 at the end of may still seems 'doable'.

I`m a little obsessed with learning a new language, I think I`ll go with japanese... any of you fellas can use this alien language?

hey dudes. weirdest thing today, actually yesterday. worked 14 hrs and came home a little tired but I was somewhat happy `cus I managed to pass an exam so I decided to open WPT and see what`s going on. a few full tables on NL4, but I spotted one with only 2 players, one of `em had 150BBs and the other 200BB. Joined the table and after a few hands I had 250BB in front of me. Left the table smiling and decided to bust 1$ on a tourney so I registerd for a 500$ guaranteed R&A (these are way out of my league). Not that many players registerd to be fair (¬130 with ¬200 rebuys), long story short I just shipped my first tourney and got my first 3 digit ($$$) win. I want to thank all my fans supporting me and my family for not snoring too loud tonight. Here`s the hand that pretty much ended the journey

Hand converted with online PokerStrategy.com hand converter:

Play hand

$4000/$8000 No-Limit Hold'em (2 handed)

Known players:
[tg]BB (Hero)$324589.00:///////;SB$388411.00:///////;[/tg]

Preflop: Hero is BB with 3:d, 3:c.
Hero raises to $12,000.00, SB calls $8,000.00.

Flop: ($20000) 7:s, 8:d, 7:h (2 players)
SB checks, Hero checks.

Turn: ($20000) K:c (2 players)
SB checks, Hero checks.

River: ($20000) 3:s (2 players)
SB raises to $379,611.00, Hero calls $311,789.00.

Final Pot: $711400.
Results follow:

Hero shows a full-house, threes full of sevens(3:d 3:c).
SB shows three of a kind, sevens(2:s 7:c).

Hero wins with a full-house, threes full of sevens(3:d 3:c).
SB wins with three of a kind, sevens(2:s 7:c).

_cool:

now I have a pretty good BR for NL10, but I`m not gonna jump there until I manage to fully understand and get some exp with some things.

cheers, going back to work in 3 hrs :<¬

so... I managed to get gold status after all. I didn`t play that much in the last days, busy at work and always tired, most of my mini-sessions were played with 30% or less focus on the game and graph got swingy, not going down thou. I am going to shoot a NL10 session in the next days, after I change some things on my HUD and watch some more vids of the ones I unlocked.

Also started reading SF`s productivity guide, found some really interesting stuff in there, don`t know if I can follow it since it requires some time on a daily basis, time I don`t have for now. Hope to quit my job soon, always tired and when I get home the only thing I want is to sleep.

anyway, my winrate for nl4 is somewhere between 9.5 and 10, pretty low, but it could definitely could of been higher if I would of always played at 100%, so I am somewhat happy with myself =d

okay, I found my blog in the 11th page of the blogs section. I didn`t update it because I, I really don`t know why. anyway, moved up to NL10 where I am BE on a pretty decent sample. It`s getting more and more frustrating, I know I still make a shitload of mistakes but I also know that my game has improved. It`s even more frustrating that I made a deal and someone is coaching me for 1h a week, I learned a lot of thing but still not winning.

on the least interesting side, I am in the process of quiting smoking (3 days woosh) and I`m just puffing an e-shisha to fill in the time when I would`ve smoked.

this is the nl10 graph, also known as the line of tears

will update on a daily basis with hands from now on.

Welcome back again! :)

My graph at nl4 looked like that for the longest time, I called it nl meh.

I don't know why yours looks like that but my biggest problem was having so many family pots, like 4/5 handed all day verusus bit-stack stations t nl10. So much for iso-raising AQ from the small blind then! I played a lot of fit/fold for quite a while.

Nice to see the return. :)

Hey guys! As I said, I will post daily, I know you don`t really care but at least I`m blowing off some steam . My main goal now is moving up to NL25 until January. I started playing with the filters in HM and saw I was losing money opening small suited As and small PPs early. Also, bad c-betting costs. ALOT. Here`s the most confusing hand I had in the last session:

Hand converted with online PokerStrategy.com hand converter:

Play hand

$0.05/$0.1 No-Limit Hold'em (6 handed)

Known players:
[tg]BB$5.00:///////;MP2$19.20:///////;MP3$9.90:///////;CO$8.53:///////;BU (Hero)$10.55:///////;SB$16.49:///////;[/tg]

Preflop: Hero is BU with 8:h, 9:h.
3 folds, Hero raises to $0.25, SB calls $0.20, BB folds.

Flop: ($0.6) T:h, K:s, Q:h (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $0.42, SB calls $0.42.

Turn: ($1.44) 3:s (2 players)
SB bets $0.68, Hero raises to $1.70, SB raises to $3.23, Hero calls $1.53.

River: ($7.9) K:c (2 players)
SB raises to $12.59, Hero folds, SB gets uncalled bet back.

Final Pot: $7.9.

when he`s donking the turn 1/2 I think he`s got some draw or weak hand he`s trying to get to a cheap showdown with, so I naturally raise. Even if he doesn`t fold here, I can take the pot on the river most of the times if no weird card jumps in. But the sheep decides to raise...
spew or not?

Still no feedback, no worries. I`m grinding to get 2500 SP by the end of the month so I get Platinum... 1323 `till 13th so it`s not that hard. Here`s the biggest pot won and the biggest pot lost in the last session.

Hand converted with online PokerStrategy.com hand converter:

Play hand

$0.05/$0.1 No-Limit Hold'em (6 handed)

Known players:
[tg]MP3$7.26:///////;CO$9.58:///////;BU$10.00:///////;SB$15.38:///////;BB (Hero)$12.51:///////;MP2$12.80:///////;[/tg]

Preflop: Hero is BB with A:h, A:d.
MP2 folds, MP3 calls $0.10, CO raises to $0.40, BU folds, SB calls $0.35, Hero raises to $1.60, MP3 folds, CO calls $1.20, SB folds.

Flop: ($3.7) 9:s, K:c, 4:c (2 players)
Hero bets $2.64, CO raises to $5.72, Hero raises to $10.91, CO calls $2.26(All-In).

Turn: ($22.59) Q:d (2 players)

River: ($22.59) K:d (2 players)

Final Pot: $22.59.
Results follow:

CO shows a straight, king high(T:c J:c).
Hero shows two pairs, aces and kings(A:h A:d).

CO wins with a straight, king high(T:c J:c).
Hero wins with two pairs, aces and kings(A:h A:d).

pretty standard I guess. villain was 51/16, the other stats pretty irrelevant since I didn`t have a decent sample on him.

Hand converted with online PokerStrategy.com hand converter:

Known players:
[tg]CO$11.78:///////;BU$13.48:///////;SB (Hero)$11.83:///////;BB$10.00:///////;[/tg]

River: ($3.16) A:h (2 players)
Hero raises to $10.30, BU calls $10.30.

Final Pot: $23.76.
Results follow:

BU shows two pairs, aces and kings(A:c J:d).
Hero shows a straight, ace high(T:h Q:h).

Hero wins with a straight, ace high(T:h Q:h).

woohoo $$$$. villain 42/5 wtsd 47. yes, he folds any J but A or K will come to the finish line with me.

so I got platinum. yey...

still banging my head against the walls at nl10. I don`t know, it seems nothing makes sense here, these are the top 3 winning 'regs' at this limit:

26bb/100

16bb/100

12bb/100

first line vpip/pfr/3b/ft3b and number of hands. I know I sound pretty lame, but GDHGSDFSGHDFDG :/

edit: yes, I have a lot of things to improve at, and yes, I know my game is far from exceptional, but I don`t think you need to be a poker scientist to kill nl10.

i have 1.27bb/100 in 85k hands...

what do we do against a fishy villain who barrels. ALOT. call or raise? what if the flop was 7:c, T:d, 6:c?

hey dudes and dudeses. how do we play a 2nd pair type hand oop vs a villain that does not fold to cbet and 2/3 times bets when you check. this is an example:

Hand converted with online PokerStrategy.com hand converter:

Play hand

$0.05/$0.1 No-Limit Hold'em (5 handed)

Known players:
[tg]MP3$9.07:///////;CO$16.59:///////;BU$8.91:///////;SB (Hero)$15.90:///////;BB$8.72:///////;[/tg]

Preflop: Hero is SB with K:h, J:c.
3 folds, Hero raises to $0.30, BB calls $0.20.

Flop: ($0.6) A:c, K:d, 7:d (2 players)
Hero bets $0.42, BB calls $0.42.

Turn: ($1.44) Q:s (2 players)
Hero bets $0.70, BB calls $0.70.

River: ($2.84) 5:s (2 players)

should we bet? should we x/c or x/f? how much should we call?

bet vs missed cbet 74, wtsd 30. I know, bigger bet on the turn...
vpip 60, so he could have almost anything. Guess he`s betting busted draws the same as value hands

anyways, seems like the sun came around the corner. finally! here`s the graph for the last 2 weeks

24k hands for 10.8bb/100. yea it`s not such a big sample, still it is a big ego bump for me :f_cool:
