Hi guys

Sadly Patrick will be unable to make tonight's coaching.

The coaching for tonight will be removed in due time but felt it appropriate to post and let you all know

How does our calling vs 3bets and squeezes differ? For example if I 2x btn, sb flats and bb makes it 9bb, how does our calling range differ from when I 2x btn, sb folds and bb makes in 7bb?

Every day I see dozens of homeless people and always think there is no way to help as any financial contribution will unfortunately likely go to alcohol or drugs. I finally found a way to help out but theres not long left to join me. I dont think Ive ever asked for any kind of financial help on here (Im too lazy to do a marathon obv ha) and definitely dont feel like you have to contribute here either.

Bit of a moany trip report too.

Hi pleno,

Good to find you here and I hope to help me figure out how can I play against aggro regs, to whom I lose a lot of stacks and they are putting me on tilt every every time. Unfortunately, I don't have enough money to afford a private coaching session with you, nevertheless you are one of the best and may give me some decent advices about both GTO and optimal/exploitative play against there regs.

For instance, we min openraise the BTN and we have a villain reg in the blinds. How do we play against him, if he is:

a) 3-bet range IP >10%, fold to 4-bet>60%, 5-bet range 2.6%
b) 3-bet range IP>10%, fold to 4-bet around 50%, 5-bet range 2.6%
c) 3-bet range IP>10%, fold to 4-bet around 30%, 5-bet range 5%?

Against which villains are we flatting more to 3-bets, against which are we 4-betting more and what would we choose? We more likely choose blockers for FEQ preflop or suited connectors/broadways for freerolling in 4-bet pots?

Second of all, the same case scenario, just we know are OOP, we open raise 3x from CO and the villain 3-bets us very wide at 9x from the BTN. How do we play against the same 3 types of aggro regs, adapting to their ranges?

Hi pleno1, love the content - and the name - of your new site, especially the hand analysis; I hadn't realised you're from (or decided to study in?) Sheffield, which is my favourite city in England and infested with my cousins and their numerous offspring. (I'd thought I could detect a Northern accent on some of your videos, but as I'm not English can never be certain about these things.) The greenest city in Europe, according to Wikipedia, and it's easy to imagine Robin Hood haunting Ecclesall Woods.

The video of the Russian dancing about in victory was a welcome break from the too-serious attitude seemingly now prevalent in poker - people all over the world can vicariously share his joy despite understanding not a word spoken. A reminder of what our game should be about!

Hi pleno1,

I have a question to you or anyone on the thread.

How do you react to min-3B ? When they do that in position and OOP.
Do you 4B bluff, start calling those 3-bets light or what ?

I'm playing 10NL btw.

Cheers!

Hello,

I want to know what is " continuous " learning.

I heard many times and know continuous learning is important, but it is vague for me.

How much do you learn poker? what difference do you think make you successful player?

Are you pleased with the way 2013 turned out for you?

Have you set yourself any major goals for 2014?

hey MD

I dont like folding much in position to threebets, i think especially at small stakes regulars will play turns very face up so i like to float a lot of flops in 3bet pots as people will make things very face up. Our range looks strong when we call a flop bet in a 3bet pot too, so lets say we defend Q5cc and the board is 872cxx I would float these board because villain cant comfortably barrel us because our range looks like stubborn bluffcatchers, people are usuallyvery face up when they have AK, which is a huge % of their 3bet value combos.

You see I think thats what the difference is, in all of your questions you JUST focus on pre flop. If somebody has a 96% cbet in 3bet pots or a 32% ebet in 3bet pots then our range should change significantly.

Dont try to overcomplicate things. If people fold alot to 4bets 4bet bluf a2-a9o, if they dont fold alot then call with connected hands and 4bet wider for value.

Hey continuous learning for me is basically learning without relaising it, reading forums, threads videos, for entertainment value and curiosity as much as wanting to improve will jsut naturally make you think about spots better. Seeing regs do stuff will make you try it, jsut as the game evolves and people have more ideas you will generally continue to learn.

I learn something every day from poker. I have a huge hunger from the game and I think it fits my personality and intelligence perfectly.

Id never ever fold to a min 3bet the odds are just way too good and we gotta punish them for trying it!

Well we should call wider because price is better, but if its 2x, call, 7x, calll the sb will normally call but if its 2x, call, 9x, call the sb probably folds way more. So sometimes vs a weaker player you may call the 9x with a wider range than the 7x if you think sbs range is going to dominate you also the main thing that nobody discusses ever is stack sizes, always better to call 3bets no matter the sizing whenn were deeper.
