Hey Somogyi0,

Hand sample is important here. Unless it's 9% 3bet over decent sample we are better 4betting or folding here. If it really is 9% vs MP, flatting is fine.

Flop call is fine.

Turn is close at these limits, probably a call/turn, fold/river spot.

Hi, w34z3l

Sorry to bother you again with this hand, but...

If villain has a 3bet range of 9% from SB vs MP, i assume that he is playing a 3bet only strategy from SB. So correct me if i am wrong his range should ussualy be value and blocker oriented.

I would like to think that this could be decent range for him, maybe he doesn`t 3bet 77-99 and he uses some suited connectors 89s 9Ts or some Axs.

77+, ATs+, KJs+, AJo+, KQo

So this being the case, we lose to AA(1c), AK(8c), and if he has it in his range 88(3c). Lets say a total of 12 combos.

We obviously tie against AQ.

And we win against AJ(8c), ATs(2c), is he cbets the flop with KQ and KJ of :club: (2c - because he will barrel the turn again, and might bluff the river also). So a total of 12 combos.

So, on the long run let`s say it`s a tie, why sould we call turn and fold river with 27% pot odds?

Board: A♥8♣2♦ 2♣
       Equity     Win     Tie
MP2    52.95%  39.39%  13.56% { AA, 88, ATs+, KcQc, KcJc, AJo+ }
MP3    47.05%  33.48%  13.56% { AcQd }

Sorry for the trouble, :f_grin:.

vs regs I dont like to 3bet hands like: KQ,KJs,ATs,AJ
I 3bet AQ only if villain like to call.

most of the regs polarize their 3bet range.

This is speculation. We have no clue whether villain has a 3bet range only or what type of range he's 3betting. Pretty much no-one has a 3bet-only range from the SB unless they've been watching training videos from mid-stakes guys, so ultimately it's not that likely. Also we have no idea if his range is merged or polarized. We can't deduce that from the statistic. All we know is that 9% is sufficiently wide for us to call.

Problem is this is assuming he fires river with most of his range, which is not necessarily the case. A lot of Ax hands not strong enough for 3barrel etc. FD's may miss etc. So given the tendency for the average opponent to not 3barrel worse hands here we don't have the odds to call generally. If he fires his entire turn range on the river, of course we'd call, but players at these limits have a tendency to tighten up dramatically on river.
