Well from the German forum I know that not everybody sees this promotion in their account.
Enter "jumpstart" in Account --> Enter stars code.
It will give you a headstart into the new year through giving you free VPP´s based on the amount you earned the month before ( or atleast on your VIP Status Idk that clearly tho)
That makes the grind in Januar for normal players very easy imo <3.

I've heard it to. Whatever your status if you enter 'jumpstart' under star code you get an instant boost of VPPs (not FPPs).
From what I can gather so far:
BronzeStar = 15 VPPS
ChromeStar = 25 VPPS
SilverStar = 125 VPPS
Gold Star = 625 VPPS.
I am not aware of higher rewards. These VPPs can be used as a jumpstart for you to retain your level as well as counting for VIP Stellar bonuses.

Ok that seems logical as the Pokerstars staff did post on 2p2 that this year its meant for lower VIP Status players.
Well for me just grinding some extra money its a very nice thing ♦
I got 1k VPPS so lets see how much higher it can be 
And got my first Stellar cleared so im happy about it

Will the corresponding amount of SPs be credited along with these bonus VPPs (e.g. 625/2 = 312 SPs for a Goldstar)? I suspect that it won't but it doesn't hurt to ask, and it would be nice of Pokerstrategy to make this gift anyway

I would assume that SPs are awarded as per rake generated. As this is a gift I would also assume then that they wouldn't count.
However I am not 100% sure of it

It is a gift so no StrategyPoints for it 
Actually, Pokerstars seem to have changed their mind and included the gift VPPs into yesterday's update. Or maybe they've messed the stats up... I don't mind either way as I'd renew the Gold status for February by play regardless - the evaluation forums are too good to miss on (I haven't abused them, however).
