Sick achievement. congratulations!
Galvin, why would you want to play more tournaments when you are destroying everyone at 2/5+ cash games?
Once again, thanks everyone for the well wishes. I know that my results were kind of a fluke (has to be when six separate guys curse at u in chat in a single month). Ill try not to get complacent and i also know that i was autopiloting for most of the month watching shows and streams while playing. Ill stop doing that for 2014.

Glory and larger prize pools
One of my fellow singaporeans cashed 500k for first place 2 weeks ago. Besides its good to mix things up, doing the same thing over and over again can get boring
Its also easier to become stars Pro if you play MTTs because you can attend some events with their logo etc ![]()
Gratz on SNE btw.
Playing dota anytime in the future? ![]()
Btw try a mechanical keyboard - we talked about it short last time. I bought a budget one to test mainly and they are really good.
Congratz on SNE man! So so sick.
Anyone notice the 150k hands BE stretch in that graph? That would be 3-5 months for me

What graph are u referring to?
Congrats Galvin! I remember watching your videos a year or so ago and comparing that to where you are now is simply amazing! You are truly an inspiration!
P.S.: I think he meant your december graph

Spoiler
Oh ya if anyone here is semi pro at Dota2 feel free to join me in ranked games. My solo and party MMR is around 5k
There is no max, some of the pros are 6k+. Most pros are 5k+. Above 4200 would be the top 1%.
5k is pretty damn good, you'd get some games with pros at this rating?
What jules97 wrote.
The top pros from top teams (the international) are around 6k
The other pros that aren't that successful yet are around 5.5k
Some good players like are floating around 5k.
Most 4-4.5k players have some basic knowledge about the game but they are HORRIBLE, I REPEAT HORRIBLE at map awareness and decision making.
Most pros using "disguise" names when playing, so I'm not sure if I encounter them. I play about 2-3hr dota a day on avg.
Most of the time I play the solo mid role, because my map awareness and decision making is usually good (used to draft for my team and I watch alot of comp games).
Offering Dota2 coaching if you teach me Poker

Yep I love Invoker ♠_cool:
Well u are a hu sng player and i cant teach u that
I play mostly position 4/5 heroes and i probably sux hard at solo mid
Not to mention lag from cross server. I wouldnt mind trading the occasional coaching when im free, if u have
I find it pretty hard to hone my skill though. Back when i was playing warcraft a lot there were always replays to dl and learn from. Now all i have is bts vods which have little educational value. I can micro treants/NCs w enchant/chen pretty well but i tend to overextend myself by crossing the river alone and getting backstabbed. Or pushing the lane with furion and not leaving when i should

Fun fact 1: i beat iceiceice in the semi finals of wcg sg in war3 in 2005
Fun fact 2: he was playing two games at once and his team won dota 5.84c while he forfeited his 3rd/4th placing match.
He probably wasnt really practicing much so i have a lot of respect for him being such a talented gamer
As a 3/4/5 position role you want to ensure your team is having a good early game start. I hate people who are passive or stay in the woods too long, usually those games are lost. Your job is to make sure the early game lanes are won (especially mid and safe-carry lane).
The solo mid is all around, usually strong in both early, mid and late game. It is really important to make sure your solo mid doesn't fall behind.
The carry should ensure the mid/late game with high dps.
iceiceice is obviously a game genius.in the few days ago, he won the wpc with DK vs IG .They lost the first 3 games in bo7 and then won the next 4 games, which was amazing! such a shame for IG

I think he was also one of the best zergs in Wings of Liberty for a while in South-East Asia, until Dota 2 came out.

Finally back from my Bangkok trip. My primary objective was to leave Singapore and have a good rest. I actually wanted to visit other places since I had been to Bangkok a year ago but my friends insisted otherwise. I ended up going for many massages (twice a day) and eating a lot of food.
i feel like blogging some strategy, so I'm inviting you guys to provide some suggestions. Preferably about topics that aren't too simple and aren't too complex (can be covered in a single article).
Maybe I'll do something like a hand of the week too, providing a in-depth analysis of ranges for a single hand.
Teach me how to play medium strength hands OOP on the flop and I will love you forever.
