I have been playing a ton of Dota as well for the past 2 years. Hit me up if you ever wanna play together. Atm my internet is really shitty though but still barely playable. Whats your mmr? Mine is really low I guess with around 3600, although i actually have a good understanding of the game I would say. I watch live commentaries often. My steam is Joenaes I think.

Hello! I would be really interested into topic "how to construct resteal/flatting on steal ranges when we know oponents tendencies (steal ranges/fold to RS etc)". This might be pretty basic for higher level players, but as a beginner i find this really hard to figure out by myself which value hands i should just flat to increas EV and how does it changes against different steal ranges.

Im 3600 now too, just sent an invitation. Gonna try hitting 4k soon, I have been playing like 10+ games of enchantress for the past 2 days and I think I'm starting to get pretty good at it, though I'm still pretty bad at dewarding stuff

How long does an avg game in Dota last? And how big is the starting level as a newb like me, i've played a bit of LoL but was always interested in Dota cuz of the warcraft background. Somehow that interest slowly dissapeared, but seeing the talk here brings it back again.

About the same as LoL, I only just switched over so haven't played that many games so might not be super accurate. I found Dota a lot harder... Then again I was pretty crap at LoL

hmm early game can end as quickly as 20 min, and it could drag as long as 1 hour. Average game is probably 45 min.
LoL probably caters more to the recreational player based on what I heard (no creep denying etc), but I'm more of a hardcore gamer so I suppose Dota suits me better.

*perfect* betsizes preflop & postflop for single & 3bet pots against different stacksizes (maybe vs 40bb, 50bb, 75bb, 100bb, 125bb, 150bb) and why that particular betsize is superior.

I am an active pokerstrategy member of the portuguese comunity.
I am playing now NL25FR zoom.
This is my 2nd month on zoom, and it is not being easy get good results. I know that I am beeing afected of the variance in this begining of 2014, and I Know I will get a decent winrate playing it, but it may take some time. Maybe 4bb/100 wr is a good target?
I decided to moove to zoom, becaus it is the only way I have to play a decent volume. At regular tables, I only can play something betwween 15k-20k hands a month, and in zoom i can play 45k to 60k.
What kind of advices do you think it is important to change for the regular tables to the zoom tables?

I used to play DOTA for fun, now I like to watch my brother play or some sick replays.
MBML (and rest of the guys who play dota) , have you heard of Purge? He has tons of replays on youtube and apparently is very well respected player. What do you guys think of his playing style?

Hmm I think Purge is one of the only guys who makes videos for individual heroes. I don't really like watching purge. He tends to go for some lame pub build and usually I'm trying to learn what the pros are actually doing, given that I'm assuming that the top teams know the best way to unlock each hero's fullest potential.
Example: I want to learn support VS, he might end up playing a carry VS instead.

In all honesty when Rush first came out, the main difference was that preflop played much tighter and postflop was fairly similar. When I made the switch to play 200/500 Zoom in 2012, I felt that it played very similarly to a regular game.
Why? I was always 12-20 tabling in the past and I wasn't the type of player to focus on writing notes and keeping track on specific dynamics unless there was some huge battle going across multiple tables vs specific opponents. The player pool also tends to be smaller and especially at 500, players have a much better understanding of optimal play. they aren't going to just fold to see the next hand - They'll open something because it's profitable to do so.
I honestly don't think I have anything meaningful to write about the topic. Zoom merely plays tighter preflop, and this holds true for fish to a larger extent. And of course since the player pool is larger at lower limits, you'll tend to meet unknowns at a higher frequency.
What this means is that you should probably be stealing slightly wider than the usual limits. of course these days people are also just 3betting really light vs unknowns so you should have a fixed game plan in mind - You'll 4bet this hand by default, call this hand by default, and fold this hand by default.

ok, seems like many people are really interested in fast-fold variants. I'll think about it.
