Very nice start to a blog. I can see this one being one of the most viewed.

As JCSeerup pointed out, you can't post images while a basic member but there are a couple of ways you can fix that.

The first is to take advantage of one of our free poker money at one of our partner rooms. This will give you lifetime bronze status as well as being able to post graphs and send PMs.

I think you probably do have the best hand here. I'm not folding much better.

Played a live session today, 28.5 hours total, 22 hours playing, -$371.7. Ran terrible and lost multiple buyins in a few hands.

Some hands:

1/2 $300 deep UTG limps, some more limpers, someone raises to $15, some callers. I raise to $60 in SB with KK. BB calls. UTG shoves. I fold.

1/2 $450 deep there are a few of limpers, I raise TT in middle position to $15. 5 callers, flop is T♦5♦4♣ and there's $80 in the pot. It's checked to me and I bet $55. UTG who limp/called shoves for $450 and wins with A♦2♦

I also lost 2 hands where I was $800+ deep and got raised on the river when I was value betting and folded for around $400 losses. When you raise limpers to $15 and get a few callers, betting 3 streets can puts a lot of money into pots... Not much to say, pretty much I just folded when they obviously had the nuts.

Could you explain why there's a strict division between 6-max and FR cash game specialists? Isn't 6-max just a particular case of FR when the first three players fold (which happens quite often in NLHE, it's not like FR PLO where people limp a lot in EP)?

Perhaps the worst disadvantage of being a basic member for you is the inability to offer stakes in the dedicated subforum So def consider signing up to some room through PStrat, maybe an 'exotic' one like Poker770, just to get the gtd lifetime Bronze status and the PM'ing and staking abilities :f_wink:, maybe you'll even want to become a permanent Gold member (which will give access to all hand evaluation subforums) by buying the status for $228 a year, or raking a bit at the chosen room, or (eventually) by becoming a professional hand judge.

Speaking of Poker770, if you earn >=1 SP on any day, e.g. by playing a €2 HUSnG as a part of the warm-up before the Stars grind :f_biggrin:, then you get 10 bonus SPs for the day, so if you do so every day, you then have to earn only 190-220 more SPs a month by actually raking, which is $38-44 in rake a month because Poker770 awards 5 SPs per $1 of rake; the value of Gold membership is $19/month so you get 43-50% cashback from that, plus 14-18% cbk, depending on the game and stake played, from $10 'reload' bonuses in the loyalty shop... I doubt there's another 65%-ish longterm iPoker deal for someone raking merely two figures a month to a skin

I think most people have tried both and find that they do a lot better at one than the other because of their style. The biggest difference that I have seen is the type of whales that show up, in FR it is mostly guys who call too much, in 6max it is guys who raise too much.

I already signed up for a site to get Bronze. I'm not really interested in hand reviews or videos since I'm pretty sure I have better places to get those so I'm happy with this.

The relative quality of advice depends on the game type. I can't comment on cash NLHE; PStrat PLO forums rely heavily on a single regposter - Skodljivec - and are way smaller than 2+2 SSPLO, that's why I didn't post here for so long; but the STT forums here are about as active as 2+2 STTF.

I know you mean rather the study group of your stable as the main source of advice, but I guess there are quality stables that advertise on PStrat but no other major forum. (You know that better, though.)

True that... and also I forgot that the top 5% of hands makes a bigger part of the profit in NLHE than in PLO and this profit is less dependent on the position, so having a strategic option to play rare preflop monsters from EP changes the picture a lot, as opposed to 6-max which is equivalent to FR with EP autofolding.

Another consideration is the hourly: FR is generally slower, I suspect that e.g. on iPoker even fishes act slower at FR as the natural game slowness makes them more prone to playing backbet games (casino-in-poker)

Stars regs have their own problems, such as choosing between 6-max and FR; on smaller networks, there are no such dilemmas and regs just play everything that runs but the lack of game selection is compensated by higher cashback and sometimes higher field softness.

GL with your FR grind!

I think it just balances out. Winrates are smaller in FR but you can play more hands/hour. One game can't ever be a lot more profitable than the other since if it was then regs would start switching.

Forgot to reply to strategy discussion: As well as stable's chat group but I also have lots of people who play similar games as me to discuss strategy on. I find 1 on 1 discussions with people more helpful than posting on forums.

I see some videos here that might be good but don't need to pay for another training video site right now.

This month I have been a sick crusher due to some changes I've made in my game.

I believe that the key to being a big winner is being skilled at bluffing.

Bluffs are very good HU. This guy was 15 tabling and playing some high stakes MTTs, I told him I didn't know he was a MTT sicko and he told me he was actually a regfish. He obviously tried to bluff me there so I bluffed him back!
