Pre flop and river play

really unsure if I agree with Preflop call. This hand shouts for trouble...

OTF I think you have to donk with 4 players. With 3 players I think your play is good.

i think pre is fine.

Flop is a must donk every time almost i'd say. The only way for you to be happy with the hand 100% is to finish it otf. And when you donk you often achieve that as Axxx raises you here so you can be happy stacking off as a 60% favourite.

River i would bet much much smaller. 1/2 pot. You are not getting called by any worse hands with this sizing, often making even a Q high flush fold easily.

can you please explain us the reasons why this is a call preflop? I don't understand.

The way I look at it, and maybe you can correct me if I'm wrong:

1- we're in the sb so if we just call, we'll be oop for the rest of the hand

2- our hand has straight possibilities, but except for A23 flop, we'll most likely be at the bottom end of a straight versus a similar rundown containing for example 5678.

3- we have a suit in our hand, but it's 5 high so I guess it's not that helpful.

4- even if we hit our set, it's likely a lower set than another one

So considering all this, I'm thinking that we don't necessarily want to just call, because we'll be in a mw pot, oop and with a hand that doesn't play well. So I'm thinking a fold or 3-bet would be better (to try to play an head's up pot).

As played, would you consider a bet/fold to a raise on turn and river?
I guess our FH can be easily outdrawn...

i would never 3b as we are not getting it HU often enough. I think our hand has enough potential to warrant a 3bb preflop investment. Obv we are not going crazy unless we flop something great, but it's worth the risk if you are not spewy postflop.

If you are spewy postflop, you have to fold pre that's for sure

As played actually i would b/f both streets. People just don't bluff here imo.

I think that problem with calling vs. 3-bet is not just the number of opponents but also the SPR.
If we do flop the set, it's usually bottom set and with spr ~6 we're almost never too happy when money's starts to fly to the middle. Against reasonable stacking-off range we have like 30-45 equity, depending how light they're willing to go broke.

well like skod said u have to be carefully and if lets say mw comes K58 and u get action its a easy fold.

also in the hand here AA5 if i get raised ott or otr its a easy fold . i agree with skod that often we play in a mw pot if we 3b here in sb.

for such a small investment and massive potential implieds we can really fold most flops, and stackoff on the premium ones for our hand.
