Depends on the "this" imo. If the sentence stands alone it cannot be disproved thus no proposition.

The problem
Hello folks!

Lets start with a discussion on the math-problem in my last blog entry. I have no solution to the problem so the following is just my personal opinion about the problem.

All propositions have a truth-value which can be denoted T or F (True or False). The phrase "This statement is false." says that it is false but as roflnub sad there is no way to prove this. The fact that the phrase says that it is false have nothing to do with the truth value F.

It is kind of the same as when your opponent raises. You have a hand but decide to fold. He mucks and then says he had the nuts. Just a useless piece of information that has no value since you will never know for sure what he had.

So in short "This statement is false." my seem to be a proposition but it is just a mind twisting nonsense sentence.

The problem lies in that the definition of a proposition is a bit inprecise.

Enough of my gibberish that may be more or less correct ;) Lets talk poker. Lost like hell today. More than 6 buy-ins on NL50. Sigh, back to NL25 again tired of this thing called poker at the moment :(

The plan for tomorrow is to attend a coaching for the first time to see if I can pick up some new knowledge about shorthanded games.

Aaaaarghhh

Results
My play was terrible today and then some bad-beats on top of that. The result is that I now in total only have lost money on PartyPoker.

I actually was at record high like 48 hours ago. Will analyze my play tomorrow and see how much that has been bad luck lately and how much is my own fault. Mostly my own fault probably.

Gonna take a break form poker for a few days now because I am not in balance at the moment.

Coaching
Attended my first coaching here at PS today. The topic was shorthanded for beginners. Do not remember the name of the coach (some German surprise surprise :)) but he seemed to be very good. He would surely crush me seven days a week.

The sound in the coaching was however fare from perfect. Totally quiet when the coach was quiet, this is natural to save bandwidth. But then when he started to speak a little bit of the sound often went missing in the beginning. And since he started most of his sayings by telling us what hand he had on the table meant that kind of vital information was lost.

It should in my opinion be mandatory for coaches to start all their sentences with an öhh. I do not know how to spell öhh in English but it is a guttural sounds that slow people (me included ) use.

In short - It was hard for me to follow the coaching because of the sound problems and I left early. But otherwise good content.

Gonna attend another coaching soon and hope that things works better.

Back
Had a one-day break from the tables. Was kind of hard

The break was good because it gave me a little time to catch up on other things than poker. I don't know if you are aware of this but it actually seems to be a bigger world that kind of surrounds the world of poker.

Well anyway I am back now and things have gone my way for a little while again. Playing NL25 today and won four buy-ins in total.

Head ache
My head hurts. The reason is that I have not been drinking any kind of Cola today. Totally addicted to it and i usually drink like 2 liters a day. The reason that I did not drink any today is that I got up kind of late. Then I had a poker-tourney and then when that was over so had the store already closed.

I could go to the gas-station that is open 24h but they only have real Coca-Cola. I am cheap so I usually buy various strange copies. They are not as good as the real thing but usually OK after a few bottles :) So the problem with the gas-station is that I will be reminded of the real taste. Gonna solve the problem by stacking up and buy a six-pack
(6x2 l) next time I go shopping groceries.

Hmm six o clock now only two hours until the store opens

Cash-out race
It is always very very fast and easy to deposit money on the poker-sites. But then when it is time to make a withdrawal everything is much slower and plight.

I have arranged a little contest to put some pressure on the sites regarding withdrawals. I have withdrawn money today from four different sites today and it is now time for a race where we will see who are fastest at paying out money. The amounts are about the same from all sites (a few hundred dollars so no big amounts).

The contestants are:

PartyPoker -> My Neteller account
Carlos Poker (iPoker network) -> My Neteller account
Fatbet Poker (Nexus network) -> My Neteller account
Svenska Spel -> Directly to my bank account (they don't offer Neteller as an option)

Ready Steady Go!

The race has started and the starting time is about 0:00 on Monday (Swedish time).

Can be noted that Svenska Spel is a already a bit behind because their site was down so I have not been able to start the withdrawal process there yet :P

I like this idea. My money is on ipoker. Be interesting to see how it turns out. They are very keen to take your money but not so eager to give it back.

Results in the cash-out race
I arranged a little competition to compare some poker-sites regarding on how fast they are at paying out money.

The results are in!

Winner - Carlos Poker (iPoker network)
Took less than 1 hour until my money was in my Neteller account. Very impressing, good work there by Carlos Poker.

Second place - PartyPoker
PartyPoker was also very fast about 2,5 hours until I had the money from them. Party also get a special prize because it was the first time I cashed out from them. Things are usually slower the first time because of security reasons. But Party obviously had recognized me as a honorable customer :)

Third place - Fatbet Poker (Nexus network)
Took about 9 hours for Fatbet which gives them third place. Acceptable time but their withdrawal procedures are probably not automated as they seem to be at Carlos and Party.

Last - Svenska Spel
First their site was down so they immediately got behind. Had actually already gotten the money from Carlos and Party before the site was up again. Have not gotten any money yet should take 2-3 days according to the site.

Conclusion
The sites seems to have gotten better at paying out money. At least if you use some on-line wallet like Neteller or Money Bookers. The exception in this case is Svenska Spel who still are very slow and do not offer me any speedy alternatives.

So an applaud and salute to the three first sites good work! :P

PokerStars
Have fixed myself an account at PokerStars that is connected to PokerStrategy.com. Got my first points from there today so everything works as it should. Easy to miss some code or something in the registration progress.

The software is good. There are only a few things that I miss. One thing is buttons for betting the pot ,1/2 the pot and so on. Must use the slider and do the calculations in my head. Not at great problem but buttons are nice and most clients have them these days.

It is possible to choose different themes for the tables. I have the PokerStars Black Theme right now. Looks like this:

I like this look a lot. Would like to turn off peoples personal pictures though, but have not found any way to do this. I can be a bit hot-tempered when playing and seeing folks stupid pictures does not exactly aid the situation :)

Gonna play both at PartyPoker and PokerStars for a while now to evaluate things. And then maybe choose only one of them.

There was a way to turn them off. You can also block individual picture if it distracts you. I mostly like pictures turned on tho as its easier to spot multitablers that way. When you multitable a lot of tables its easier to remember certain player moves as well - "Oh yeah, this xxx pic guy used to donkbet with air a lot on that other table."

Interesting blog... I enjoyed it. I'm in now way in a spot to give you advices but you should spend some time reading the psychology articles, specially the "scared money" one. Also I don't know you but trying to clear out a bonus tend to take me away from focusing on my game and leaks. And whenever there is 20$bonus to clear, I lost 30$ to do it. Maybe the same thing is happening to you (not a proposition, just a thought )

Have a nice day at the tables!!!

PS: I never played at PP but I know that Pokerstars is a great site with all you've want in it( fishes, gamblers, beginners, big MTT light software for your computer...)

Hi ya Berra,

In order to change the table layouts you can do it from the lobby.

View ---> Table Themes

Then just scroll up/down to choose your new layout.

Steve

Probably gonna block individual pictures then, thx for the tip.

You seem to be a sagacious* man 1seednoir1, can only agree with what you say. And yes, I noticed that the software run very smoothly even on my stone age computer.

(* just me trying to learn new strange words ;))

Yeah have looked around a bit in that menu. Many strange themes though. Somebody also told me that it was possible to create your own theme. Might try that some day when i feel vigorous.

Artificial Intelligence
I needed some advice today so i turned to an artificial intelligence robot that I hoped would be able to help me. His name is splotchy. Here follows our conversation.

you ==> Hi
splotchy ==> hey, what's going on?
you ==> Are you smart?
splotchy ==> I might be.
you ==> I need some help with a hand that I played today.
splotchy ==> why must you have some help with a hand that you played today
you ==> I do not know if I played it correctly.
splotchy ==> because you are too dumb to know if you played it correctly?
you ==> Well maybe.
splotchy ==> you don't sound to sure!
you ==> Anyway, some Finnish guy raises from early position.
splotchy ==> I should work on my geology
you ==> I call with king ten suited.
splotchy ==> The guy who created me wanted me to ask what you think of his website
you ==> Could we please focus on my hand now?
splotchy ==> how do you feel about your body?
you ==> The Finnish guy makes a continuation bet.
splotchy ==> let's talk about something else
you ==> No listen up now!
splotchy ==> ok
you ==> I am a bit shortstack and decide to test him so I go all-in.
splotchy ==> well, we all have to make choices
you ==> He calls like lightning.
splotchy ==> that's interesting
you ==> It turns out that he had nines so he flopped a set.
splotchy ==> I wish I was in Atlanta
you ==> So how do you think that I played the hand?
splotchy ==> how many fingers do you have, 10 perhaps?
you ==> OK thanks for your valuable advice on this matter.
splotchy ==> ok

If you need advice by splotchy so is this where he lives http://www.cooldictionary.com/splotchy.mpl

Stars
Have tried PokerStars for a few days now. Seems like people to bluff a lot there.

It is kind of boring to discuss hands but surely beneficially so lets run one hand here today.

$50.00 USD NL Texas

Seat 9 is the button
Seat 1: dcbfda ( $14.60 USD )
Seat 2: TecateJack ( $50.00 USD )
Seat 3: SaPereira ( $35.35 USD )
Seat 4: Berra FTW ( $59.60 USD )
Seat 5: MayhemRAGE ( $18.35 USD )
Seat 6: Micha126 ( $51.60 USD )
Seat 8: DejaVuMartin ( $43.65 USD )
Seat 9: Amelod ( $68.50 USD )
dcbfda posts small blind [$0.25 USD].
TecateJack posts big blind [$0.50 USD].

Dealt to Berra FTW [ J :club: J :spade: ]
SaPereira folds
Berra FTW raises [$1.50 USD]
MayhemRAGE folds
Micha126 folds
DejaVuMartin raises [$7.00 USD]
Amelod folds
dcbfda folds
TecateJack folds
Berra FTW calls [$5.50 USD] - My call here might be a bit questionable since the villain is not very deep-stacked. But he had 3-bet preflop several times already. So I call and hope for a flop with low cards.

Dealing Flop [ 5 :diamond:, K :club:, 7 :spade: ]
Berra FTW checks - Did no really like that king since I might very well be up against AK. Also behind against AA, KK, KQ, QQ now. I am in the lead against AQ, 77-TT and I might also be up against more speculative hands like AX-suited. I check and I am about to give up the hand.
DejaVuMartin checks -Check KK then?

Dealing Turn [ 5 :diamond:, K :club:, 7 :spade: ] [ 4 :club: ]
Berra FTW checks
DejaVuMartin checks

Dealing River [ 5 :diamond:, K :club:, 7 :spade: ] [ 4 :club: ] [ 5 :club: ]
Berra FTW checks
DejaVuMartin bets [$12.00 USD] -Now at last he comes alive with a fairly big bet.
Berra FTW calls [$12.00 USD] -I actually missed the flush possibility because i did not see the three clubs on the table when playing the hand. I think for a very long time and finally decide to call. It is very strange that he first 3-bets and then absolutely no action until now at the very end.

DejaVuMartin shows [8d, Ac ] Berra FTW shows [Jc, Js ] Berra FTW wins $36.85 USD from main pot
