Hey,

thanks for the congratulations, and for noticing and picturing the 666 thing, I did not even noticed that, but that's how I celebrate the SN! :)

So, first of all, thank everyone who supported me to get to this point, it was really not as easy, but not as hard either to get here, but it was a kind a job. So here comes some numbers about this year according to poker.

I played 207455 FLHE CG hands (that I've got in my database), and a couble of FL SNG's and MTT's, aprx 250k hand this year, most of them are in Pokerstars, a few on iPoker network, and ftp.
Aprx 570 hours of poker (only to this 207k hands), that's 360 hands / hour, so avarage played on 4 tables. And of course this hours only the playing hours, not included how much time spent with analyzing, and discussing about poker. Maybe that sums up to 800-900 hours, tops 1000. And that's not a small amount, aprx spent 15-18 % of my awake time to poker, and that's sounds a lot to me. If anyone interested in detailed stats, please contact the Pokerstars support, if I am allowed to tell anybody about anything, and with the answer contact me!

:heart:Here's this years graph, it's awful, but mine:

My hourly rate is somewhere the non existant category, but definitly positive number. (it's not that bad hourly rate in hungary, but it's not even close to what is worth it).

To this year, I didn't have so big goals, only this SN, and I reached it, on the other area of my life, didn't make any goals, so I couldn't hit them. So this year wasn't a really productive and a good one, but the end of this year can be a good base to improvement.

Next year is the year to go all-in, as Schnitzelfish said, in the nexr post I will write about that!

:diamond:And, here's the music, that celebrate every Supernovas:

I'm going to crush the limit, so there is no need to step down. I'm preatty sure (after reviewing those sessions) my play is good enough for the 2/4 limits. To be hones, there is a lot of time when I sit alone with 2-5 poor players.

And from the financial point of view, my only limit where my net profit positive is the 2/4 limit, any other limit (0,25/0,5 - 5/T) loosing. And all the time, I asking myself, if I'm good enough for these limits or not, I end up thinking that, there are some better players than me, who I play regularly, and there are much more worse people. So I feel kind a comfortable here, with a lot of work, I can get anywhere, and I will.

Working on my game, and this year january and february will be the mass learning, and some grinding. Not going to announce this years goals, before made any improvement in all the areas. And the reason is that, I'm not willing to reveal my goals, before made any progression ( publicly, if you're interested ask me personly or via skype)! :)

Some thoughts about what I'm working on right now: preflop std ranges in the semi common situations, after will go through the flop and turn x/r balance, ranges, etc... I'M going to analyse some players, only have 5-8k hands from the regs, what's not a lot, but maybe can get some idea about their play.

And today's no music video is:

Numberphile is one of my favourite channal on youtube, take a look at it. If you are a bit nerdy or just like numbers, you have to take a look! :)

just as a note: when i have seen you sit down at some tables. I have seen you on tables with 5 other regs. and its not been only 1 or 2 times. Ive seen it up to 5+ times where you sit against only regs. Maybe you need to pay a bit more attention to table selection.

and if 2/4 is your only + stake and below isnt then I think theres something wrong. If you cant beat even 25/50c how on earth do you think you would be beating 2/4 ? Im not trying to put you down its just it sounds really weird that you cant beat/ have + on lower limits than 2/4 and you still play 2/4 because thats the only + you have. granted i understand why you would keep playing a + limit .. Its just, ehm. yeah im going to repeat myself now. If you cant beat 25/50c then in the long run i find it extremely hard that you can beat 2/4

This happens if the table is closing, and to it happens a lot of times, not going to sit out right away if the fish leaves. Or, you think some players are regs, and yes, there are some really bad regs I'm playing with, and sit on them, cause theye are so weak, I won't even call them regs...

I don't have a significant amount of hands from any of the limits, so have no idea if I'm winning or losing in those limits. And that's the same for 2/4. And really don't see where comes that not able to beat the micro limits. Played 350 hands on 0,25/0,5, and about 5k hands on 0,5/1 last year, and both are in negative. So how accurate is that, I'm a loosing player on those limits? Played about 60k hands on 1/2, that's net negative, played 100k hands on 2/4 whats net positive. And 27 k hands on 3/6 thats negative, and 600 hands on 5/T, where I'm really terrible, -6BB/100. So yeah, maybe you're right, see that winrate on 5/T, and found 279 hands from 0,05/0,1, thats -7,5 BB/100. How awful I am? Can't even beat the super micro.

And no, I'm not playing this limit because the only positive limit from last year, playing it because my BRM allows me to play in these limit maximum. :f_grin:

no it doesnt happen when tables are closing only. I saw you play 5 other regs 4 tabling for about 15 minutes. They weren't going to leave I guess they either saw you as the fish or one of the others (I know those regs they are actually competent) yet you kept playing in that game for at least 10 minutes as i recall strongly.

Okay. Then I dont get at all why you even are playing 2/4 .. just deposited enough money to sit at 2/4 immediately when you started playing poker ?

Read the very first post, and you will find the answer where I started...
To table select question: we are definitly evaluate diferently the players, maybe some of the guy you think is competent are not. Aprx 15-20 % of my tables are game created, and only 1-2 times happened where the regs sit on me (as I am the fish or rather an unknown player).

I don't get how can you say anything about my game from those numbers. I mean, how significantly can you say that I am a fish... :f_grin:

the guys im talking about is not only evaluated by me, but several of my friends who has or play higher stakes. So I know who is a competent player or not, your a friend so Im gonna say this as straight as possibly. besides no reason to pack it in fancy words. Maybe you should question your own table selection skills a bit. You seem to put the players into a different category too fast based on a few plays one day .. Because i really have seen some 3/6 - 10/20 players sit at your table. 1 time i remember there were 4 of them. Thats definitely not good table selection and that was not for 2 minutes or closing tables, the game was full on and on fire.

if i have called you a fish or indicated im sorry was not meant that way. Im just saying that I also know quite a bit and i have specced you on stars quite a bit when i caught you playing.

@Ava: Yeah, sure, have no idea about table selection. And not telling you, my best skill, but really don't see, if there is a known bad player on my left 2, or my right, not really matter if 4 other regs sitting in the other positions. Maybe that's really fishy thought, but I beleive that's not so bad. :)

@other readers, if exist:
I'm really happy, how this year goas so far. Yesterday finished all my exams, and played a bit of poker that went really good. I'm looking forward to this year, a few of my goals is going really cool, so this gonna be a very good year, I think! :)

...and usually 2 of them are definitely losing players with good looking main stats.
These tables are beatable. Not to mention that at 2/4 there are only a few hours per day when you can sit on 4-6 better tables than that. But:
If there is a recreational player and 4 good regs, that's a bad table at 2/4 imo, because the rake is high. I think at mid-high stakes that table must be good if you have some edge on 1-2 regs.

Dear Reader,
so here is the post that been procrastinated last day... I'm not going to write a lot about my future plans, only a few of them, that alredy in progress.

A bit about my situation right now:
Started the year with a cool new years party at my place, takes a few days to make the cleaning, but now it's nearly the same, have no idea where this grime came from... At the end of last year, after christmas, I decided to loose weight to look better, and to have a better stamina. But mainly because the look better thing. And want to cloth better, I'm going to buy some new cool stuff every month, to make my outfit better, something like a sporty top manager. And, here comes the tool, with I'm making a kind a good progress, started to count the calories and fat, protein, and carbohydrates, started with something like 2,2k cal per day, and now aiming for below 2k, and daily excercise. AAAAND entered a DietBet competition, to motivate myself a bit more with a bit competition. Last week finished all my exams, so now I'm free to....

So the first goal is: loose weight, and look coller. Target date: middle of the summer

Now a bit about poker:
Finnished the last year, with a lot of motivation, that bad result really pissed me, so this year, I'm aiming for the BIG WIN. Want to make a big winrate and take a lot of hands in. Started a game review, had a coaching with Toma, and working and thinking on situations a lot of the time. This year played only a a few hands, focusing on my game, only earned about 5k VPP's so far, but for this and the next month, the plan is to build a really strong game, that will crush the opponents, and allow me to jump up to midstakes games. And for this year, I'm aiming for a few hundreds of thousands of VPP's.

So the second goal is: reach SN end March, early April, stronger my game to crush the opponents. Target date: April 15.

BUT, here comes a thing:
... work 5 days a week, that cost me about 11,5-12 hours a day to earn something like twenty bucks and some experience (okay, that's not that accurate, cause I've got 45 minute at the bus to read, or do anything that don't require any electronic thingy, ofc ath the afternoons can't do anything on the bus, cause it's too dark, maybe a few weeks later it getting better). Today get a quite good feedback from my boss/mentor, that I'm working good, and have a lot of good ideas, and pointed out some weaknesess too, maybe they are more helpful, like "If facing a problem, that can't solve, excalate the problem too late", and "presentation and moderation skills". So I see, where should improve first, and that's a big thingy, I think. But here comes my problem: can't see how could I profit this job more, in financially it's a total broke, and not feeling that I'm making so big of a progress in my experience. But, I'm making more improvement in overall skills, than I did in the first half of the last year.

To sum it up:
positives:
- overall skill improvement
- working for a multinational company
- good connections
- easy way to a full time job (I mean not a trainee job), maybe a good carreer jump from here
- will attend an assesment center, front of the top managers
- my family and the society good feelingness (just a minor thing)
negatives:
- lot of time consumption
- very little money
- without a full-time job, can't see how to move forward
- I want to make and MSc somewhere, so cannot fullfil a full-time job in the next 2-3 years

And not sure, what should I do, how much could I benifit from the job, if I'm staying another half year. The first half year is going to end in the middle of february. Does anyone could give some thoughts how much would it mean to work a full year to half a year, or I would be more valuable if quiting the job at half a year, and start to improve myself and my skills, take som coursera courses? If anyone have som thought in this thing, some HR guy or recruit agent, please contact me via skype (send a community massage, and will send you my skype). Maybe I'm going to ask this question on RBT, but first want to consult with somebady about this.

So, the third goal is: make a plus EV decision on this thing. Deadline: end of janury

This for today, have some smaller thing tho, like want to stand back to the weekly planning, and every month will concentrate in other area of my life, to give a kikcstart in the abandoned areas, and to make good habits from them to improve every time.

And some music:

My business law techer subtitled this music, according to learn the law, it was hilarious. Made this all the classes, so maybe the first one, I loved to go ( I mean from this boring subjects).

So, You better work b*tch

Hi guys, now a full poker post:
Started this year, as you can see above a graph, not so good, and worked a lot on my game. The first thing was, to stadardize my preflop basic game, and find out how to modifay that if some sort of player sitting in the blinds, or in position on me. It should help my game a lot, but this not even close what I want to reach in the first two month.
Next is going to be the flop plays, I'm goig to analyze first the BB defense situations, then some other common situations where I'm playing OOP in 3 bet pots. Meanwhile reading the Future limit holdem book, to get a better understanding of this game.
And not satisfied with my mental game at all, so there's a lot of potential to improve, maybe the first and most important improvement would be, to make sure, not looking at the cashier at the end of every session, but it's hard to resist, to take a quick look at that big win, or f*cking bad session. So here is a bit of challange for me:
Do not look at the cashier or the HM graph until the end of next week!
It's gonna be challanging, running relly poorly in the last 1,5k hands, and after all, this year is totally break even (or a bit minus), so not happy with the results, nor the VPP count, only reached 6k last evening. And just swinging in a -200 BB to 200 BB lane. It's only about 11k hands, so not a big deal, but I can't be happy with this. I want to continue the coachings with Toma, but will see if there is enough time for that. :)

GL HF!

A hand from todays second session (it went awfully, I think, but never mind, did not confirmed that, with looking the cashier or a graph :) ):

Hand converted with online PokerStrategy.com hand converter:

Play hand

$2/$4 Fixed-Limit Hold'em (6 handed)

Preflop: Hero is BU with 6:c, 6:d.
MP2 folds, MP3 raises, CO folds, Hero 3-Bets, SB calls, BB calls, MP3 calls.

Flop: (12 SB) 7:h, T:c, A:d (4 players)
SB checks, BB checks, MP3 checks, Hero checks.

Turn: (6 BB) 6:s (4 players)
SB checks, BB bets, MP3 raises, Hero 3-Bets, SB folds, BB folds, MP3 calls.

River: (13 BB) 3:s (2 players)
MP3 checks, Hero bets, MP3 raises, Hero 3-Bets, MP3 calls.

Final Pot: 19 BB.

MP3 is a regular, the other 2 guys are weak players.

What you think about the river b/3b? Overplay? I tend to think that.
I won't have any stronger combos in my hand that point, and I'm expecting some 2 paars or some sets? But I think sets would donk 3b the flop, ore something like that.

First off I cbet the flop - with such a strong range no way I'm letting everyone know that I have exactly 66, maybe 88-99. You'd cbet everything else in your range, so why not these?

Turn is okay.

On the river I don't really like the 3bet - since river effectively changed nothing, it must be a slowplay from the turn, that can be 77, maybe TT or AA (not sure if he'd cap that pre, probably would), 98s, AT (if he doesn't cap suited pre and actually plays this way, which I'm not sure about). So all in all you're behind 7 combos, and if all stars align, 9 combos that you're ahead. That's 56% equity, not enough to 3bet, not even mentioning that I'm still not sure AT plays this way. Easy call.

Edit: oops, I missed A7(s?) and A6(s?), but it would be a slight overplay (the same as AT IMO) to call turn raise riv with them.
