Hey, thanks for asking ;) Yea, I was mentally fine for the coaching, played really well imo, but got a lot of suckouts :( Which is sad cos it's always less interesting if we get to less bubbles/HUs.

I play $30s, $60s and occasionally even $100s (all 6max). I try to tableselect through the limits to get as many fish as possible. And yea I actually missed you today morning

Which, by the way, was awful. Decided to add 2 $100 games as they were really fishy early in the morning, and I managed to go on a slope of $600. Which is nothing in BIs of course, but that's 2 months rent for me lol.

Anyway, gonna check a couple of hands now, then off to the gym. Not sure if I'll play more today.

Week 3 was good, ended in a nice plus, nothing exceptional but it felt great. Put in 12-13 hours which is good considering I had 4 days. Big news is that I've passed my exam so now I've got some time off from uni (this week and the next).

Because of that, I'm setting standards higher, but I still have a lot of things to take care of. Hopefully I'll make it.

:spade: Weekly goals - Week 4 :spade:

Poker:
:diamond: 20 hours playing poker (at least)
:diamond: 5 hours studying poker (at least)
:diamond: review all marked hands

Health/Lifestyle:

* exception: going out and/or being with gf

Interesting hand.

edit: blinds are 100/200 no ante. Dont know wghy it's not correct.

Poker Stars No Limit Hold'em Tournament - t/t Blinds - 3 players

BTN: t230 1 BBs
SB: t3220 1 BBs
Hero (BB): t5550 1 BBs

Pre Flop: (t0) Hero is BB with J♣ Q♣
1 fold, SB raises to t3120, 1 fold

Obv it's simple when we have QJs, but wonder what I would've done with AJo. SB's nash is 11.8% (!!), BB's is 5.6% (88, AQ). I wonder how many regs would actually fold a hand like 77, A8s, A9o here on the SB. I'm sure every reg knows he has to be VERY tight here, but this - imo - is tighter than VERY tight for most.

p.s. fun fact, SB is ghaleon. I'm sure he is shoving correct ;)

6mx right? As SB I'm going to be incredibly tight here. I think it's a spot where Nash is unhelpful for the SB, in the sense that the chips he wins don't make much of a difference (still HU with 5:3 deficit) but when he's called by TT+ it's puke time.

Yeah and just because of that (regs probably calling wider) I think I would have a very hard time shoving stuff like QJs/KQo in SB's shoes.

Edit: the Engrishman beat me to it.

I completely agree Tim (and Tom), he is virtually ITM the next hand. Nash doesnt account for the fact that SS is BB next hand (or anything about the next hand).

So, yea, both should be super tight (tighter than nash), but I'm wondering if I'd actually wake up in time in-game

Have not played at all today. Keeping holiday and going for last 20k for monthly target in next four days.

For hand I will be very tight there. No point to take marginal shoves.

Bitch, I got destroyed today in morning session. Down $800 in 2 hours.

I know, sample is minimal, but this is really stressing. Nothing extraordinary happened, apart from one or two spots which I might have screwed up I really was in a multitude of the most basic, standardest spots ever. Meh.

As for the month, it's really unfair that I have a 3.5% ROI on the $30s while having a -6.8% on the 60s. I only add 60s which are really soft (okay, once in a session I run into regs I didnt previously know, but 90%+ of my 60s are really soft). Anyway, month is not over yet, so I'll keep grinding to reach 20 hours this week!

On the good side, I've reached platinumstar in 46 hours, so I think I'll be able to keep that one up during uni as well.

Different topic: my ev-line often is the exact same as my green line. I'm not saying sometimes, I'm saying that they are the exact same at most sngs. How is that possible? That would mean that I lose the game on the river, right? (or the very unlikely scenario of the evs of my decisions add up exactly to the result)
Could it be broken? Or am I missing something?

Create a new DB, reimport your HHs and tournament summaries and see if that fixes the red line. I had that problem twice already

Ah, I see! Well, thanks for the help - honestly, I think I can live without EV-line for now, I think this maneuver is gonna take a day or something similar... Don't really have an entire day when I don't need my pc right now

It's really useful to know that it's broken tho, cos I had a $700 fall of EV today and I really didn't know what the frak to make of it. So, big thanks!

Had the same problem with hypers. But just installing a newer version of holdem manager fixed it for new sngs, the old ones are still listed wrong, but the ones I play now are correct.

Hey man!

I recognize you from the tables! Shame on me, I didnt previously know you were from PS as well! :)

And thanks for the help, I guess I'm gonna go with this one for now, see what happens.

Hmmmm, I'm not happy with my game today. Played a few spewy lines that I shouldn't have. "Undisciplined" is the word I'd use for myself, and that's not good.

Anyway, as I've said, not happy with my game, but I keep working on it and I already feel the improvement compared to a couple of weeks ago (even tho the numbers show the exact opposite, but hey, sample!).

Also, put in a 3h session which used to be nothing special but I didnt grind such "long" sessions in a while.

Might play early afternoon, so short january update will come later.

yep it sucks when you think you have improved your game but then you run even worse X( but it happens.
btw maybe you should be more careful with your tableselection at the 60s. you say you only want to play soft 60s, but today you joined a few bad ones with 3 regs (including me :P) one weak reg and just one fish. and even one with 4 regs and one unknown, iirc.

Yeah I know, noticed right after :\ Tho I think the weak reg is (was) marked as a fish at the time. Don't know why. Or maybe we're not thinking of the same guy.

In any case, thx for the heads up! As I've said earlier... I manage to get soft games in 90% of my 60s

So, I didn't play more today, figured the 3h morning session was enough for now and I'd rather do other stuff. So, January is over.

:spade: January Goals :spade:
:club: 40 hours of playing poker DONE 55h
:club: 10 hours of learning poker (coaching sessions don't count) well, I didnt actually count it, but I guess it's DONE :P
:club: nail all exams on 1st go SO FKING DONE

Other than that, not much interesting stuff will happen here as I still don't intend to post monetary results. I can say that I have a -100% ROI on the 100s on a sample of 4 which didnt help with the end results.

I played a total of 573 SnGs in 55 hours. I probably won't keep up this pace, but I intend to do ~12h weeks (without learning and coaching) in order to maintain platinumstar on pokerstars.

As for non-monetary results, I feel great about this month. Obviously the downer in the end leaves a bitter taste, but I'm overall very happy. First of all, my exams. They are so very important to me and I did well in them. But even if we exclude that, I'm pretty happy as I started to build up poker as a habit, playing (almost) every day and so on. As I've mentoined earlier, this is a big goal. I've also been doing more sports and changed my sleep regime, which makes me feel much better.

I'm not actually sleeping more, but the 11pm-midnight to 6-7 am sleep regime is really helping in feeling more rested. I intend to keep this up during uni as well.

Well, that was it, not sure if I will post any february goals as I try to go weekly with these things now instead of monthly. Seeya guys!

And ofc I forgot to mention but I'm feeling more comfortable after each week. I still consider myself a little bit unstable, and undisciplined as I've mentioned earlier, but the hours that I've put in have really helped, which makes me more confident at the table - which, as you know, feels great!

Lol, I had it all planned out. I'll play a lot on saturday cos it's so fishy anyway. Well, I didnt calculate the fking bad hangover I was having all day. Pulled a short session in the evening, slept through most of the day. My least productive day in a looooong time. Well, there is noone to blame but me.

:spade: Results - Week 4 :spade:

Poker:
:diamond: 20 hours playing poker (at least) FAIL - not by much tho :P
:diamond: 5 hours studying poker (at least) Hm, I probably didnt, so FAIL
:diamond: review all marked hands - FAIL

Health/Lifestyle:
:diamond: gym/running at least 3 times - FAIL - only twice :(
:diamond: go to sleep before midnight* - yeah, more or less.

Well, Saturday was out cos I was having some serious hangover, and that resulted in everything failing. Lol. Well, I can only blame myself. Still, played 17-ish hours, feeling better at the tables, and had some great time before the next semester. Let's see week 5!

:spade: Weekly goals - Week 5 :spade:

Poker:
:diamond: 10 hours playing poker (at least)
:diamond: 2.5 hours studying poker (at least)
:diamond: review all marked hands

Health/Lifestyle:
:diamond: gym/running at least 3 times
:diamond: go to sleep before midnight

This is gonna be tricky, as this is the week between the two semesters where virtually everyone is free. I have no idea how I'm gonna fit poker in as I have things to do for every day. I hope I'll make it tho!
Also, I really need to continue my work on my thesis cos delaying it is only gonna bite me in the ass later :P
