Hey.

Saw some discussion about (not) beating 2/4. Well FWIW, I think Balu is good enough to beat these limits, so as long as BRM allows him to play them, he should :)
I know some of you will say "wtf this fish knows", but still... Just my 2 cents ;)

Yeah I mean wtf....oh wait, hey CoreySteel :)

Plenty sure Baluu's good enough to take on those stakes and win, as with everything though if you're playing above roll, or with very little in reserve, you're leaving yourself way open to tilt. If you know you're fine come what may at the tables, I think you're always going to play better, I think there's a lot more that goes into a poker player that just technical ability, the ability to make the right play with disregard of the consequences is probably even greater.

Also update plz :)

Thanks for the responses. I'm going to get back to weekly planning this week, so tomorrow will post an update about the current situtation. Just saw the last days coaching of Boomer, it was really cool, I'm happy to participate in those home games, really can learn a lot from that. So next time, some more people join, plz! :)

Hi Readers,
after a month, I can't be totally staisfied how I manage this year so far.
First of all, I wanna write a bit about lifestyle change:
Managed to write everything I ate or drink, only 3 days is missing, because I was drunk, and not really sure what drunk or ate... But lost a few kg's, and feel happy how this is going, I know a lot of things can be improved, but as my german boss should say: "lepesról, lepesre" (step by step)!
Just won a dietbet, that's really motivating for me, not sure if i won some money, or just got back my bet, really doesn't matter, cause it's alredy worth it!
edit: bet 25$'s, and get back 40,5 from the first one, have an other dietbet running.

So, this is the main progress I done so far.

Poker:
Quite happy with the quality of my game, I think managed to improve my game a lot, and play better. BUT, played only a few hours this month, really low amount, only hit the SN1 VPP, so if I really want multiple SN's, have to take in a lot more volume. As Boomer wrote, maybe not the technical knowledge is my weakest point, maybe tha always looking at the cashier, or HM graphs, but with the roll I've got for these limits, it's not make alot of sense to look at the cashier more often than weekly. So I will stik to these weekly check, this gonna make my game more balanced, as I see.
To be honest, I'm a bit afraid to give poker a shot, to try to live from that full time, not sure if I'm able to earn a living in this thing. But really curious, how would I do full time.

Internship:
I'm going to end this, in the end of february, not willing to work for any company for such a little money, about 500$'s, thats not enough to make it BE in my finance, so there is two options, go full time with Bosch, it's a big maybe, cause not sure if they are willing to employ me without my BSc degree (will have that at the end of the next semester), or go full time poker! Next thuesday have a meeting with a recruit agent (or something like that), to discuss my future at the company. Not willing to live my life working to a company, that I'm not an owner, so maybe 1 or 1,5 year can be a really good experience, but nothing more. On thuesday, I will know a litle more, how will the next few months look like.
But that's my final decision, to quit the internship, it's not worth for me any more!

Today spent all my time in the kitchen, cooking and baking for the Super Bowl, some ameriacan food like Hamburger, chocolate chip cookies with dried fruits, brownie, and banana-oat chips takes a lot of time, but I hope it worth it! Tomorrow will do the same, my names day will be, so I take some cookies to my workplace. :)

Weekly planning:
- find out, if Bosch willing to offer me a full time job
- start a new dietbet, and improve my eating patterns
- play minimum 14 hours of poker, and improve my game
- improve my entrapenurial and growth mindset
- read 1 full book (finish this week's book, and another) This week's book is: Mindset: The new psychology, about next week's I'm not sure, maybe the Drive.

That's all for now, have a happy Super Bowl! :f_grin:

Hi Guys,

yesterday watched that awful Super Bowl. I'm a bit (not a bit) dissapointed how it went. Hard to imagine what was going on Payton's head. It's something like a downswing, you can make anything, call the right plays, but just miss it in the right moment, then you go on monkey tilt. Not sure if they lost that match last night, maybe a lot before this. Some serious mindset problems going on the backround I think. I don't beleive, this Seatle was beatable by the Broncos any way, but this result is shocking. Maybe some problems with the fixed mindset, because of the first safety, and a ridiculous mistake in the first minute snowball to this results. Never mind, it was really boring to watch, but the company was really good, and so the hamburger and cookies.

And, todays my name's day, so because of that, I didn't do anything productive, baked some cookie, and a brownie, it's still in the oven, hope it's gona be delicious like last night one! :)

Making this tomorrow, cause in the office, everybody on namesday or birthsdays used to make some cookies and take in to celebrate a few minutes. So, I don't wanna left out of this, and I really love making these sweets. If you're fast enough, you can get a piece of this! :)

I'm reading this book, Mindset: The new psychology that Barry Carter recommended, this really blow my mind. It's a MUST read. And a MUST use. I really strugling to get out of the fixed mindset in a lot of areas, while the growth mindset is so easy in other areas. So plus 1 goal this weak: find and fix the fixed mindset patterns I find this week. And maybe will make a list of that, if anyone could use that. :)

Hi Guys,
it was a long ago, since I've written here. A month nearly past, and played only a few hours of poker. Had only 120 VPP's on 15th of February, now have 4,2k, so I'm grinding to hit only the 6,5k SN mark, the poker is not the top priority ATM.

Shortly about the last 2 weeks:
I've had a guest from Slovenia, an ESTIEM exchange, so 1 spend almost 1 week with that, then concentrated to my job at Bosch, and in the midle of this week, started to grind for the goals. Had a fallback with healthy lifestile, and weight lost, so started to write again what I eat or drink, and stick to my calorie goals.

Tomorrow a bigger post is coming, I have to think through my things a litle bit, currently waiting for the Bosch respond to my intervie this week, a lot of thing depends on it. :)

A litle bit of a brag:

Record day, or close to that.

Hello,
here it is, the BIG sunday post, or something like that, maybe it's not going to be too big, but it's sunday!

:spade: First of all, lets take a look where am I now:

- University: last semester, have to write my thesis, and have one class to make. It won't be a big challange, but have to make it, and need a good grade. I applied to a business development MSc at Corvinus University in Budapest, but not willing to start my studies next september, maybe a year later, but it all depends on my job at Bosch (or somewhere else).

- Job: had an interview with my gropuleader and teamleader, they didn't say anything if they want to employ me full time or not, just said will say in 2 weeks, so aprx early march. I work hard as always, and try to show them how good I am, and how much I willing to improve, and work there, but to be honest, I'm not sure if this is the best oon. If they won't employ me befor I get my bachelor degree, then I won't stay there longer in the internship position. But they temporize really well, so I ptiwill be there for about 1 month minimum.

- Self-development: red couple of books, Mindset: The new psychology of success by Carol Dweck is a life changing, and the Talent code is really cool too. And Drive by Daniel Pink can be helpful. Now reading a book by Phase about Body Language. I feel that I can make a lot of things work from those books. In the close future will work on the entrepeneurship mindset, and communication skills. My english not even close to where it should be, and my german is really poor too. So I have to work on that too and so my connections with the other gender... And started again with the habit and task plannung, and strugling to reach my dietbet goals. Have to get in shape as soon as possible. Started to excercise daily, and run 3 times a week. I'm using runkeeper, and an other app to count my progress in situps, pushups and squat. This will make me accountable, and easy to track my progress. Hope this will help. :)

- Poker: had some good days, as you can see the last post. Started to shoot 3/6 again. So the next few days have to make 1,5k VPP's, aprx 2-2,5 hours a day, but have to skip minimum 1 day. But fortunatly friday is the last day, so then I can play as much as I want. My poker future depends on the decesion with Bosch, we'll see.

 Next weeks goals:
- reach the 6,5k VPP
- write the table of content of my thesis
- count the calories every day, and eat healthy
- run 3 times, and every monrning a short strengthening excercise
- read the body language book

Hello!
Another week passed, quickly... Too quickly, I'm paniced a little bit, and still afraid of the next week's decesion about to start to work, or delay that a few years...

But first thing first: this week was quite okay, and did a good progress in many areas. At Bosch had an other interview, and an other department is looking for a new employee, and I was suggested to them, so they heard me out, and still interested. What's a good news, cause that means plus 1 option to work on. And next week I expect a response from my department, if they are willing to employ me or not. We'll see, but the problem with this is that, I'm not really sure if want to start working now. I'm sure, if I want to find a job, I will, as found this one at Bosch, and I will make something like 1k $'s a moth, that's not a bad money in hungary, but hardly compete with the poker winnings. But it has some huge advantages over the poker carreer: first of all, it looks cool in my CV, that they give me a full time job after a few months internship, and Bosch name sound cool, too, if I want to work in the auto industry, or anywhere else, and I can improve a lot in communication, presentation and moderation skills. But it has some disadvantages, too, for example I have to sign for 2-3 years, with bad resignation conditions on my part, and it consumes a lot of time and energy. So in the short term it's not the best option I think, and if I can get for example 5-10 hours to build a side business, that can be life changing, but I won't have energy for that, if I start to work full time. (I'm working full-time from janury, so experienced this thing.) And there is the parental and the community pressure that I have to find a job, or I will be wasted, or something like that... Awful hard decesion...

:spade: About the last week's goals:
- reach the 6,5k VPP
- write the table of content of my thesis
- count the calories every day and eat helthy - 7/6
- run 3 times, and every monrning a short strengthening excercise - run : 1, morning excercise: 3
- read the body language book - 70%

So it's quite okay, I'm going to improve this week, and have to make some improvement in my thesys, writed the first paragraph or a bit more, but not sure how will the table of content look like...

:spade: Let's see the next week's goals:
- finish the body language book, and another (Entrapeneurship and Innovation)
- write my thesys, minimum 20% should be done
- eat helthy, and count the calories, and win the dietbet- this goes quite well, and lost more than 10 kgs this year (more than 22 lb), twice as more to go :)
- morning excercise minimum 5 days
- run 3 times
- play 10 hour poker minimum, mainly 2/4, but with some 3/6 shoots

That's it for now, wish you a beautiful week!

In spoiler you can find the first 2 month's results:

Spoiler

Not so happy with the results, but have some improvement in my game, so I really think that, I can beat 1/2-2/4 limits, and I'm going to be able to beat 3/6-5/T with a better mindset, and more poker hours...

That's quite a decision you have to make. I made mine few years ago and I chose poker.
But I probably won't know for another few years if that was a correct one or not :) I'm still afraid of my blank CV :P

GL!

Hello

It was a long time, didn't wrote.

@Luka: maybe your CV won't be empty, with the PS contract. ;)

 The big decision:
I got an offer at Friday from Bosch for a full time job. First they didn't offered a contract, just to switch my intern position to another, then I said no. After a miracle happened, and they found the contract, with a clear offer. And it's not a bad one, have to say that, it's a good entrant offer (compared to Hungarian salaries). Made some calculations, and I will have enough to save and invest some money monthly, and maintain the living conditions. And I will have daily 2 hours to read on the bus ride, or do anything that doesn't require a PC or Tab. And in the evenings, I can concentrate on other important things. And last but not least, I can learn a ton lot of about the business, about lean, and everything that Automobile Electronics, so it can be a good jump start to a career in auto manufacturing. This was the bright side, the other side is that, I don't feel like I should accept this offer. I feel that, I missed a lot of things in the last few years. I fucked up with my university years, so it's hard to close that, and definitely never try again to live carefree years. And mostly I think about parties, and social events, traveling in Europe, meeting with people, pick up girls...

So it is still a hard decision. A good friend of mine said, this stupid only professional thing, without partying, and FEELING FUCKING GOOD doesn't make any sense. And she is totally right. I missed that part in the last 2 years or more. And just now realized this, when it's so close to the End. Every fcnk material, and career improvement, maybe even personal development in some areas shows that, it's a MUST to accept this offer, but my feelings indicate it in the other way. But all my life, my "rational" hemisphere was stronger, or I was just fearful of making the decisions my heart wants. This thing paralyses me, and only have some days to decide.

:club: Other things:

  • Productivity: it's going all right, manage to make a lot of things, close to the level I was in December.
  • University: I think because of this decision, I spent a lot of time, NOT writing my thesis, therefore fall behind, and have to start working really hard, if want to finish. But some mental barrier stops me, from writing this thing. I think, it has to do something with the job offer. Or just really lazy? The productivity things shows it other way...
  • Personal development: thanks to Schnitzelfish, got some really good tools, that using successfully. Made a big goal for this year, to run a half-marathon. If anyone want to bid against me, you are welcome! I think I'm an underdog in this one, but if you interested, just PM me, or write here!
  • Poker: not a lot to tell. Struggling with keeping the SN, not reaching this month, happy to maintain it. We will see, after June, I will have lot more time. But not satisfied with my game, and neither with the results. See #crybaby in the spoiler!

I'm loosing SN at 6 o'clock. Can't do it, need more than 1k VPP, and not able to play even okay. This week is -300 BB so far (today: -200 BB), the whole year is below -500BB, and in $'s is even worse. :f_cry:

There is a high chance, that this devastated battle is the end of the war...

Thx Janesz, I will leav that offer! :)

Today just take my final exam, so I have my BSc degree, and I can finally sign my job contract with Bosch. And for the quick celebration, bought a new headset, a Logitech G230, after a few hours of use, it's really cool. Party on friday, and will throw a bigger party in the beginning of july, have some thing to celebrate.... :)

From now, I really plan to make something serious, this year is far away from the planned route, so I have to recalculate a lot of things now. Running not going great, but not bad either.

That's me dancing after the excelent final exam:

no, not really, but wouldn't be bad :f_cool:

Hello Guys,

hope everything going fine for you, too! :)

It was a long time ago, I was active on this forum, or in poker community at all.
From my last post, here what happened to me, on various themes:

Poker:
did not played a lot, was part in a learning group that just ended, and did not find any time for playing poker. I don't really like it any more, just playing some hands on micros or small stakes is enough for me right now. I live up my bankroll, so about 1,5k $ on the poker sites, and I will use this money to play some, and to buy some self-developing courses or books. And to make the situation worse poker wise, the hungarian goverment start to block the sites too.
I really liked this years so far, and willing to play some more, but won't make big goals poker wise, i did not keep those in the previous year, I could regret that, but would that make me any better? I don't think so, learned a lot from this game, that can used in every aspect of life!

University:
I am not a student at the moment, I want to make a masters some time, but know I don't feel like it, these Hungarian Universities teach almost unusable skills, learned so much more in the previous 1 year working than 3,5 year university. I am disapointed in the University System, and at the moment I don't need another paper, so I will postpone my university studies, maybe just few years, maybe more. I definitely wont study more in Hungarian universities, and don't suggest it to anyone! :)

Work:
Working at Bosch, full time BPS-Coordinator, this is a big challenge for me, can improve a lot, but I lost my mentor with this change, and looking for another, but nothing. This job is a bit crazy, I am working as a joker people, to make anything with challenging deadlines, but have a chance to present my work, and find good connections abroad.
This year is the place, to make a decision, if I want to pursue a carrier at these multi company business, and aim to reach a CEO position soon, or start my own business and compete with these huge companies. There are a lot of pros and cons, and I made myself a deadline to choose until the end of this year, and set my goals!

Self development:
i had a big depression after graduation, I felt I don't belong to the university or the working word, that's why I don't write here, or do anything productive, the July and august was a bit self destroying, eating junk food, not exercising enough, and did not run every 3. day, so I lost my half-marathon challenge. But there is a good point: realized some of my weaknesses, lost some pounds, and build some good relationship, spent really good time in Tenerife, so I think I am going strong right now.
Started to attend Ketlebell Class twice a week, and running once a week, and made a better timetable, started to build my systems, and setting my life goals. I will definitely write a post about this when I am done, it must be finished by end of September, and I have to iterate it, and start to live a rich life! Have some improvement, but it is going to be a huge journey!

Thanks for reading, I will be more active in the next months, if have any suggestions or questions, feel free to ask! :)
