Hey, could you write some example of runout which you see often (in HU games to make it simple) where you would fold on one or more streets much more/less than GTO says against reg without good sample on?

You said that you would defend 60%+ against buton minraise, but what if he had 50% steal, or 40%? My strategy so far was to call or 3bet more or less same amount that villain steals.

Hero posts SB 0.4 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.4 BB) Hero has 3♦ A♦

fold, fold, fold, BTN raises to 2.4 BB, Hero raises to 8 BB, fold, BTN calls 5.6 BB

Flop: (17 BB, 2 players) 5♠ J♥ A♣

Thanks

edit:

Forgot to mention:

presumed reg (3tabling rush + 100bb)
Lots of regs like to call AK here on my limit. So from population read imo his 4b range will be something like QQ+/some AK/ and BBo

I'd normal x here because I don't see them calling with much worse. I also x AA/AJss because I block a lot of the hands he can call with & to protect my checking range. Cbetting AJdd/55/JJ for 'value'.

Are u referring to the PF strategy or the F strategy? PF 3bet with AXs is very bad IMO. Def strong enough to call any AXo vs most standard ranges.

F: You should recognize that your hand can only go for somewhere between 1-2 streets of value. So you have a few options, either to bet once and call River or check Flop and take it from there. The weaker the opposition, the more deceptive of a play checking becomes (they will assume you have shit and will bluff way too often)

Definitely betting AJ. I wouldn't have 55 in my PF 3betting range. And if people are so nitty with AK, I think 3betting AJ may be a really bad idea unless you think they call with a ton of worse and never 4b bluff. Checking AA is definitely standard.

Anyway based on what I rmb about lower limits, people tend to open like 20-30% only from the SB. I guess vs a tighter range you might not want to flat all AXo but still flatting all AXs is really standard. I flat all AXs in BU vs a 15% UTG open, and this situation is significantly better, given that no one is left to act behind you and you close the action, and SB will have a much wider range than 15%.

Hey I'm in the SB v a BTN open, I think you're referring to BB v SB?

ah ok, my bad. 3betting most of your range is fine in SB

EV FTL.....
-_-

more than 100k hands for sure, even 100k sample probably doesn't say too much.

they are able to herocall better and value bet more thinly

you should be designing a dynamic preflop range based on a few factors
1. Opponent's raising range
2. Opponent's open size
3. Opponent's stack size
4. Players left to act

People who are min-raising are almost always opening 55%+ in the BU. Of course there could be exceptions but IMO it's pretty dumb to raise small with a strong range

Hi mbml,

So I am messing about with my default preflop gameplan and was wondering what % my calling range and 3bet range should be of the initial raisers open %. for instance if the mp is opening 20% would you 3bet 30 percent of that range making it a 6% total. or isn't this the way to go about it?

Hope you understand what i am trying to say :)

calling range would probably vary too much based on positions and raise size.

3bet % should be between 20-35% of the opening range. Increase it in position, and increase it if there are fewer players left to act behind you.

Would you rather squeeze JTo or JTs oop vs two unknowns ?
Why ? :P

Thanks so much again for this thread !! :)

If JTs is strong enough to call, I usually would. Same concept applies to JTo.
The question is a little vague though. Depends so much on raise size and positions.

Sorry, I have just watched an old video with following Spot:

Hero BB vs 3bb MP OR vs CO CC and he said he´d rather squeeze JTo than JTs here.

Vs tight players I´d agree, but vs unknowns I prefer JTs a lot, as it´s much easier to play postflop.

Is onlinepoker fully legal in singapur? Do you have to pay taxes on your winnings?

it's a grey area sort of thing. I think it may be illegal but not enforced at the moment. Nope you don't pay taxes for illegal stuff :)

vs 2.5bb i would call both hands. 3BB I still think you can call JTs and play it profitably. Maybe not for JTo. I probably just fold JTo anyway but you could squeeze if you want.

hey mbml ;

I want to ask you about your approach to mass multitabling during your 5 years career ..

did you play a lot of tables during moving up in stakes ..like from NL25 to nl50 to nl100 to nl200

or you played just few tables in your early years ...until you mastered the high level skill then you start adding tables ?

was there months that you played only 4 tables to think deeply or you have always played 8 tables + ?

any advice for this approach ?

thank you :)

Hey
What in your opinion would be optimal value for stats like w$, wwsf, wts? Do you think its weak to have wwsf 44% even if someone plays like 30/25 on sh or 21/17 at FR, which means he has a lot wider range in average than his oponents?

thanks

I started playing 24-tables from the very beginning (NL10) because SSS was really easy. I was playing something like 9/9 in Fullring. Maybe not at the very beginning, I was probably playing 10+ tables but I realized that I was feeling bored clicking the fold button so I just kept adding until I hit the cap.

There were certainly times when I tried playing fewer tables, especially when my coaches suggested cutting down on tables to think more deeply about the game. Anyway zoom came along and I played 4-tables of zoom pretty often especially at Rush Poker @ Fulltilt but eventually I realized I could play more and started adding more and more tables all over again.

8-table zoom is pretty difficult to do but I was desperate for my SNE chase so after I got back from my holiday I decided to do it to raise my hourly VPP from 700-750->900-1000

Now I don't really see too much point in playing 8 table. I have more than enough time to get SNE playing 6-tables so I stopped doing so. I was timing out a little too often for the past 4 months+.

I don't use those stats and I don't really care.
