turning it into a bluff on this flop is probably the best line, but I disagree with your sizing. IMO your raise should be very small because this is the type of board he is either going to just fold to any raise or continue vs any size. So you should size it as small as possible to get the best odds (you can also barrel turn/river with a smaller size if the pot is smaller).

I would make it 250-300 on the flop.

I would just give up turn/river vs a very tight player. You won't get him to fold sets/overpairs and that is his range here IMO.

Thanks for your reply. I guess I've been spewing off a lot chips with my 3-bets in the past. I think cutting the size down makes sense in a lot of ways, especially against other regs. As you described it will allow for more room to play on later streets.

Are there any rules of thumb about the 3-bet sizing vs regs/recreationals or general rules on the bet-sizing you could point out? most literature seems pretty outdated compared to what is happening on the tables.

3bet 2x when you are IP.
3bet 2.5x when you are OOP.

you can be unbalanced vs fish (ie. bigger with nuts).

post-flop bet sizing should be cbet 1/3 on dry boards IP and slightly bigger OOP.
half pot + on wet boards.

again you can be unbalanced vs some opponents (ie. betting big with value and smaller with nothing is fine vs fish who can't hand read).

I think flop raise is bit questionable versus thinking player. With this stack depth you should not be doing much of set mining preflop so you are basically repping just 99 and possibly slowplayed KK+.

Even if we rep a thin range, I don't think someone described as 'very very tight' is going to try outplay us with worse. A nit is just going to play ABC (IMO).

i would just call flop.

it is better to raise here with nonshowdown hands with backdoor like JTs, QJ, KQ..
if we raise all those hands and AK, then we are massively overbluffing this flop. Vs tight player we have no reason to overbluff here. As gavron said, we dont have many value hands here, so i would just raise few hands without showdown with backdoor.

AK is okey here to call on the flop as we are ahead of AQ, AJ.. etc (with these hands ABC tight players will just raise preflop, stab one on the flop and check to the river.)

the idea is to get him to fold small pairs.
