I was very happy with Imageshack, and I was very pleased to see that even if I choose not to pay, they will continue to host my current images. I will need to pay if I want to upload any more, however.

Nice of them, but...

What do other members plan to do?

Anyone going to pay?

Are there other -- maybe even better -- free image hosting services available?

I've seen imgur and tinypic, but I've never really looked at them.

What's the consensus?

Cheers,

Hey VS,

I use PostImage.org and I'm very happy with it. :]

I use Flickr

You get 1 terabyte of storage for free. That is a lot of pictures. :)

yea i think its odd time to go that route... maybe a few days ago when they were still the google of image hosting, but now? there are 10's of other great free image hosting sites, so no idea why would anyone chose to pay there when they can get the same service for free elsewhere ?(

edit: a few years* ago, lol. years, not days :f_biggrin:

Just user another site. So many good alternatives out there.

Don't understand why they are stating to charge after all this time.

How much is it?

The personal use plan is $2 / mo or $20 / yr.

There are 3 levels of business plan -- which I can see them charging for.

$2 a month isn't that bad.

If I used Imageshack a lot already and it was easier than others I wouldn't mind paying a small amount.

To me, imageshack was never a good site. Always laggy, ads, users who didn't know how to properly post links to their pictures, ... :)

ATM imgur is the best and in few years I'm sure, some other site will replace it ;)

I LOVE the Postimage Desktop App.

When you press prtscr, you get to select an area of the screen that you want to take a snapshot off, and then upload it/save it with one click or so. It also has basic editing included.

This has saved me many hours in the past, and if you take a lot of screenshots, I strongly recommend you to give it a shot.

If I want to share an image I upload it to my DropBox account. :)
