I'm having a bad time today. This is the first time I'm having downswings at Pokerstars and Mansion poker at the same time. That's the reason why i come up with the conclusion that: I'm playing bad poker!!!!
As for now till next week(at least till Wednesday I'll spend all of my time reading the strategies, watching the videos and attending to coaching). I'll allow myself one MTT per day, at the end of the day to apply what I've learned. I'll also sit at one FL table if the learning was mostly about FL strategies.
I think that this will last till the end of next week. I'll also give at least 1/3 of my time to learning the fallowing days.
I actually find my biggest Leak. I rush big time when it comes to building a bankroll. Everytime my bankroll hit 200$ or more I tend to want more by going against BRM. The other Problem is that I lay back, saying: "well even if I lose those 2$, I have 200$left :).
And when I dig a big hole in my bankroll, I start overreacting, tilting, playing more loose and obviously tilting more... finally I find myself in a nasty situation.
My interest to other people's downswings made me think deep about my own. And I'm very willing to fix it. I want to be a GREAT player. And I know that I have that chance. I want to be those kind of guys that went on to win a tournament 1 of 3times. And reach the final table the other 2times. I know it will be VERY hard but a final table finish in 1 of 5 tourneys will be the first step. plus a tournament win in 1 of 2 times I reach the final table.
Concerning the FL, I just wanna reach FL 1/2 (need=600$ for that). We'll see from there.

Wish me luck ... I have a long long way to go!!! :(

Is good to have high goals but those are extremely high ;) I doubt there is any player in the world that can achieve something like that constantly.

Good luck at learning with that attitude you'll improve your game and results will come ;)

I guess you can join me on my journey to become the best mtt player there is :)

1 out of 5 to the final table is more then every tournament pro does lol :)

You should rather start off with a goal to perfect your bubble play... To learn how to abuse shortstackers... To understand who is just playing to cash and who is playing for the win...

Learn more about how to get chips early on and learn everything you can about steals and re-steals...

I think you should first put goals to learn everything you can... and then the results will come rather then putting your goals to some kind of a number in results...

good luck :)

Thanks for your support :)

First approach: My head is heavy with all the information I've trinna put in. Well... This will be my normal poker day as for now (no more MTT after MTT= this is my first to overcome)

Thank you for the replies my friends :).
Just so you know how I see things: One person that aims to climb the mount Everest won't just go there and climb it. He'll have to climb the wall of his house, then train enough to climb some mountains from the Pyrenees, then try his luck with Kilimanjaro before going for Everest. Even if climbing the Everest is his goal, that doesn't mean he'll do it. But the fact that he works hard to make his dream come true, the fact that he work hard enough to get closer to his dream will make him a Better man. That same man, maybe, will not climb the Everest but will probably climb the mount Kilimanjaro; which is Great for someone who was nothing but a simple guy.
I see poker the same way, and reading articles, watching videos, attending coaching will be my daily homework for greater purposes. I'll add posting hands when I figure the problem I'm having with Pokerstars and Elephant. ;)

I've made some changes. I decided to play 1$ and 2$ MTT's at night after spending all day on the learning side. Or else it will be alot of information gathered without practice. I think practice is a good way for improvement. At least now I don't play tournaments to play them. I concentrate a lot on the way I'm playing it. I cashed 3$ for finishing 70th on a MTT with 1800players registered. I'm not very proud since I made 3mistakes in the bubble 2 of them was small PP plays the last one is one of my worst enemy: Bluff. I sometimes feel weakness from the opponent, then attempt to bluff, unfortunately I get called. Sometimes I say to myself, maybe if I was more aggressive I'd of won. But I think i'll change that approach. I stop bluffing, except if it's vital.
What i'm happy with in that tournament is that I came back from 195chips to 20 000chips with 500/1000blinds. That prove the good use of bubble hands chart.

Ok i'm about to play the last tournament of the night. I could of used some sleep but I wanna leave on a good result with no mistakes on the bubble. Maybe hit the final table

Thanx... Looking forward to watch your progress too and maybe play you in one of those 2$ Sng :).

Today is FL day. I'll read articles from the FL part and practice at the same time. I've already put in the head the SHC, but not all of it of course!
The sad part of the story is that Elephant mess up my hand stories. check this out: When I ask Elephant to import the hands stored in HH from the Pokerstars files, It process the import with errors. Then when you try to see the hands, there is nothing! It's like there never been hands imported. When I want to try again, guess what: the hands disappear at there local place. I've lost all of my hand stories from Pokerstars. The one from Mansion have no problem to import. Can someone tell me why???
Now i'm scared to try importing hands from PS :( :( X(

Then how do we see MTT hands??? I soo want to discuss those hands. But I don't know where how to check out those hands: the filter only show FL and NL(cash game)

Unfortunately Elephant only imports hands from cash games right now, SNG's and MTT's will be supported at a later date.

Regards,

Bulldog

As far as I am aware elephant only works for cash tables, not MTT's. For MTT's u need somethin like pokertracker

Well today I've been up to 10$ then down to even... then up to 10$ then down to even... playing FL... The last 10$ was been lost playing at this one table with a donk killing all my good SHC hands. Added the fact that I argue with my bb girl. She's driving me nuts lately and it's affecting my game ALOT. I'm soo irritable now that I make some stupid plays I can't even explain myself. I'm sometimes asking to myself if poker is made for guys like me??? I think I have a weak mind. I can't even control my emotions X(. Well no poker tonight not even reading strategies. Just don't have the mind for that. But I promise that tomorrow I'll catch up. Will put all this behind and think poker...

I feel like posting a Picture I took when I was in San Francisco. I love this picture. It reminds me 3 of the best years of my life. I miss this city where I learned the game of poker!!!

Good news ... I got you some graphs from Pokerstars... the next one will be for 1.5K hands at FL. I have to say I'm not very successful at Sng's lately but I hope it will get better after Some days of learning. This week end, I didn't fallow the rules because of the end of Money mad at Mansion. Well from tomorrow things will get back to normal. I didn't play at stars today yet, except for 2 2$ 180players Sng. I lost both to very loose players. But still, it's a shame I didn't make it to top 50 in any of those. Tonight is MTT day of course, I'll try to bring home a sweet victory. I have a new Idea; I'll post the hands I get busted with. That way I'll check it out every time to avoid that to happens again.

I was playing some FL just before the start of the tournament (2$buy-in 2K Guaranteed) to get back the buy in in the worst case. And was supposed to make a cool fold to protect the money already won.

PokerStars Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (8 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

Would of called down if I was at Mansion, but the will to overcome myself makes me think twice before making unprofitable moves. I'm happy I have this sort of blog (It's not a blog it's a quest :P).
