Disclaimer: I am NOT a coach!

My overall impression is that this hand was played too passively.

"tight aggressive" style means you need to play your good hands aggressively.

3Betting pre, might get you a fold or two, but that is life.
More likely, it will get a call from Ax hands, worse pairs and maybe some suited broadways.

OTF, you need to bet. Betting is the only way to get the villains to put money into the pot. They *might* do it on their own, but then what? You can't fold JJ on that flop.

Let's see what others think...

Not that I'm anything of note, or even a good player

But yes, I agree. From the SB with JJ, you have a button 3x raise. I'm 3 betting that with suited jacks alot of the time, let alone a pair of jacks. 1/2 to 2/3 on flop and the same on turn keeps you out of that situation. It also lets you have the ability to get rid of the hand if you get repopped. You have a much better idea where you are in the hand just by raising.

I think I would bet $0.10 on the flop because of potential flushes & straights.

Otherwise looks good.

Hi ikkvr,
i don't like 3bet from this position with middle pair. But i think post-flop and turn reraise2x (check move for top pair)sounds better.Anyway the hand was risky enough.
thank you for your opinion.i respect...

Anyone else...?Help!Please!

I noticed 2 things even be4 realy looking at the hand:

1) You dont have auto-rebuy enabled. I advice you to always sit at the tables with a minimum of 100BB... Nothing as bad as getting AA pre all-in with only 60BB if you could also do it with 100... It gives more postflop space as well, you're not commited as quickly.

2) Don't openlimp... Maybe it is not as bad a play as limping on higher stakes, but try to be tight AGGRESSIVE, limping isn't a move for a TAG :)

So if you start the hand with raising to like 3BB the hand is way easier to play... Now it is guessing what the opponent has... He can have a lot of hands in that spot... So i think the most import lessons from that hand are the 2 I mentioned above :)

Hi prijsduifke,
And thanks for your advise.
Honestly for the first advise you are 100% right.I will enable the rebuy
For the second... i am not sure.Let 's hear more people. From that position i am afraid to raise, especially when you play Zoom and microstakes

Seems indeed that the advice given in the strategy articles has changed since I last read them and they indeed advice that you just call preflop and make the call20 rule, but if you want to follow that, you have to notice that (since SB only has 1,08 left after his raise) you barly meet the requirements for that rule... As played I would indeed raise postflop, but if it's good enough to go broke postflop... I don't know... Not raising preflop makes it harder have you posted the hand in the hand judge forms, that way you are certain a coach at the appropriate level takes a look at the hand :)

I think villain bet big on flop w 3x, poss A3?

turn brings a good scare card to barrel, but his bet is half arsed, same on river. but you minraising only gets called by better.

Disclaimer: I am NOT a coach!;

I always assumed that "call" when talking about mid pairs meant call a raise.
Now I see that the starting hands charts do indeed recommend calling with certain hands even if no-one has raised before you.

The problem here is that if you just limp, you have a hard time on any flop where you do not hit a set.

Also, if you have short-stacks in the mix, you get very little from them even when you DO hit.

Forgive me if someone has suggested this before, but if you have not gone through the beginner's course, the sooner you get started the better.

Participating in the beginner-level coaching sessions will clear up a lot of this stuff, too.

Best of luck,
--VS
