Hi, rosieplays,

Disclaimer: I am NOT a coach!

Could we have some idea of your thought processes?

Just because a LAG is loose, doesn't mean they can't have good hands.

You have a great hand on the flop, 9 spade outs, and 8 for the straight gives you a lot of outs.

You're even ahead vs this rather arbitrary range:

Board: A♦9♠8♠
       Equity     Win     Tie
MP2    46.10%  45.66%   0.44% { JJ+, A2s+, K9s+, QTs+, A2o+, KTo+, QTo+ }
MP3    53.90%  53.45%   0.44% { JsTs }

The question is:
Are you a shove ahead?

When MP3 overbets the pot OTF, there is now 20BB in the middle.

Would raising to say, $1.50 do the trick?
You can always shove the river.

On the other hand, $1.50 is half your remaining stack.
May as well shove it.

Nice hand.

This guy was a maniac. Pre-flop he was min raising every round and 3-betting every raise. He was playing pretty much every hand and bullying people out of showdowns. This led me to think that he would call the shove.

What would you suggest he do if he raises the flop and just gets called, and then hits none of his draws on the turn?

Fold equity is gone, pot equity is gone, he wants to get it in on the flop.

Also, shoving flop will make most fish at these stakes level themselves into a call by convincing themselves that you're only doing that as a bluff. Nobody plays a set this way.

Played perfectly fine IMO.
