Thanks Parodiq! And nice work on your bounty ![]()
Should be a fun coaching tomorrow too, Ghaleon has kindly agreed to come on and I've got a lot topics planned in addition to playing live.
Mr Moshman, good day.
A new series of SNG pieces has started appearing on PS.
What follows is a re-post to you of an item I put both on the SNG forum, and on the general feedback forum.
Your comments are invited.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Just when I thought I knew absolutely everything about SNGs [ ♦ ], I find we are required to learn even more!
I have been dipping into the new series of lessons. It appears to me that, at numerous points, we are being moved away from the traditional doctrines taught 5 years back or so on PS. Am I correct? Should we take these items as just alternative ideas, or as replacements for the traditional doctrines?
I note also that, at various points, there are attempts to distinguish between the various types of SNG. I respectfully suggest that these attempts do not go far enough. The gradations between 6-man, 9 & 10 man, multiplayer and, finally, 180-man tournaments are [IMHO] vast. Those differences need to be more clearly defined with clearer teachings on the relevant adjustments.
I suggest the community would appreciate it if these fascinating articles were to be treated, not as completed items, but rather as "work-in-progress".
How about developing a complete, internally coherent, strategy book for playing all types of SNGs? The 'book' could have sections restricted to silver, gold, etc.
And I do mean a 'book' rather than a series of articles. PS could readily develop a single PDF e-book, [with silver and gold chapters, etc.] and put up a link to it.
What does everybody think?

Just an FYI guys that the coaching this Wednesday (Oct 23) is cancelled due to travel but Oct 30 we're back in business!
Thanks Parodiq! Really appreciate the nice words and I'm looking forward to having you play live on the coaching soon ![]()
Nice idea Glopslart, that would be Pokerstrategy's decision but I like the concept.
Hello Collin,
Sitting here waiting for the coaching to start. I'm quite far from Greenwich nowadays, but isn't it 25 minutes past 20 GMT at the moment?
Sorry for impatience, but I just happened to choose this one to be the first one in my poker career))
or maybe some time-zone business, it says that it's in 20 minutes on russian PS

FYI I will not be making the coaching on Nov 27 due to family coming in for US thanksgiving but all others until then are on. I'm asking Parodiq now if he will come in for the next one to play live for us!
Hi!
I couldn't tune in pleno1's coaching tonight. I suspect a problem with Justin-TV. Are you using Justin-TV as well?
/Johan =
YohanN7: Yes
Parodiq: Thanks!
We have a beast coming on as the special guest in Wednesday's coaching, Pokerstrategy's own Vidrata. Going to be a really good one...
Hi Colin
Firstly ive just started reading your book s&g strategy and its great.
I have watched about 2 or 3 s&g videos which really opened my eyes and really helped when i played on the bubble, lost half my stack heads up only to double up and then bully the other player to a 1st place win.
Some help is needed for the nash chart as I dont see how to use it and after watching your video I think this would help me alot as 70% when i lose its as i try to stay tight and let others knock each other out. I then push with a good hand short stacked only to be knocked out by J9 off against my AQ or AK.
Could you help me with this?
Thanks
Darius
Hi, is your coacing now available only for silver+? Also does the time schedule for your coaching change?
Thanks for tonights coaching!
About the big draw with KQ of diamonds on AT(diamonds)x flop, I think the only way to realize our equity is to checkraise all-in. On the turn he won't pay and we have 12 outs running twice. I guess it's default play for him, he is truelly great.
GL on SNE, seems a good bet to me!
PS Just writing about that it hit me after: he may be able to get to pot with other hands he would have called with.
About the (last) coaching, where the guest dude explained the "min raise really wide when the antes hit" strategy. I tried it. I crushed. I love him! I love you!
Gosh, its so nice to change the direction of your chip red line ♠_biggrin:
