SB posts SB $0.05, BB posts BB $0.10

Pre Flop: (pot: $0.15) Hero has Q♠ Q♣

fold, UTG+1 raises to $0.32, Hero calls $0.32, MP calls $0.32, fold, fold, BTN calls $0.32, fold, fold

Flop: ($1.43, 4 players) J♣ 2♥ 9♦
UTG+1 checks, Hero bets $0.70, fold, BTN calls $0.70, fold

Turn: ($2.83, 2 players) Q♦
Hero bets $1.20, BTN calls $1.20

River: ($5.23, 2 players) 4♣
Hero checks, BTN bets $3.30, fold

BTN wins $4.99

I bet the turn small to get him to call with Jx / draws.

On the river i don't lead because it's too thin for value from Jx so i decide to check, with the intention of calling around 1/2 pot. But when he bets this big, and i have no information on him other then he's playing 1 table, i decide to make the fold.

I'm bad, right? :f_o:

Couldn't he play that way with AJ, AQ, KJ, QJ, 99 etc, or even try to turn his busted draw into a bluff? You are putting him on KT specifically? Also he bets after you slow down on the river, just because he might think it's a value bet, doesn't mean he can beat top set on that board. KT would be more likely to raise the turn?

Very clear bet on the river.

By folding u assume he only has 1 hand here which is def not true. He has a ton of worse made hands like lower sets and 2pairs.

Why do u think the value is too thin? U only lose to KTs and u beat so many worse combos.

Just the fact i already have 2 of the Queens makes it very unlikely he has a Q himself, narrowing his range more towards K10.

Surely a lower set/2pair would bet on the turn

I'd regret more folding than calling and losing here. If he indeed has KT gg but in my opinion he doesn't have it more than half of the time.

hi,

I would just point on that sizings go higher on flop / turn, esp. turn!

Thanks for the input but i think my sizing is fine. On the flop i'm vs 2 opponents so i don't want to bloat the pot too big, and also i don't want to appear very strong. On the turn if i bet bigger i'm isolating myself against 2pair+ hands and since we already have QQ theres a slim chance he has them, so i go for value vs Jx hands and bet smaller.

U were the one betting, not him.

Why do u think he would always slowplay straights but not twopairs and sets?
I suggest u actually go count the combos. Sure u block kq and qt but he still has some of those combos.

It is a BIG leak in my opinion to assume your sizing is fine on both flop and turn.

You loose a lot of value (and money) from all Jx hands and Fdraws.

Just because you assume you wouldn't call a 65% bet on the turn with a fdraw that doesn't mean everybody does that.

A hand like JT,KT, 9-T of club is never folding the turn. Bet $1 instead of .07 and river will be $3.40 instead of 2.83 so you can value bet larger.

On the river we should NEVER fold imo. You can beat so many combos plus his blufs and you only loose to his KT combos.
