Since no one has posted a hand, I dare to add one again. This is a real one this time.

Preflop: Hero is CO with K Q
UTG folds, MP raises, Hero 3-bets, 3 folds, MP calls

Flop: (7.5 SB) 3 5 6 (2 players)
MP checks, Hero bets, MP calls

Turn: (4.8 BB) 5 (2 players)
MP checks, Hero bets, MP calls

River: (6.8 BB) 4 (2 players)
MP checks, Hero bets, MP calls

Results: 8.8 BB pot (0.3 BB rake)

Spoiler

Final Board: 3 5 6 5 4
MP showed A T and won 8.4 BB (4.4 BB net)
Hero mucked K Q and lost (-4 BB net)

I decided by the easy way, and made a screenshot of my HUD rather than putting all stats down, I hope the abbreviations are clear. I have some popups as well, but the only relevant info from that is that the he raises 22% from MP3 and has a 7% cap range overall.

Reads:

- wannabe LAG: means he tries to play loose and agressive, but has obvious mistakes like open limping, cold calling one player etc
- actor : means he likes to rep strong hands and spew with trash, for ex capping pre with J7o, b3b the flop and then donkxr on a double paired 3 flush river
- trickster: xr flop and then donkx on a semi-blank turn with top pair
- showdown monkey with made hands: means he doesnt know what bet/folding is
- overvalue : overestimating hand strenght like xr-ing with ace high medium kicker on rag boards in tight range situations
- blockdonker : likes to donk with weak made hands on scary boards especially on the river

About the hand:

GT wise I think the turn barrel was OK, but Im not sure about the river barrel. Also it is a question if we have a xback range on the turn at all. I'd barrel KQs, but wouldnt KQo. I have KJs,QJs,JTs also in my barreling range. Exploitatively there is a chance that its a mistake to bluff against this guy, because he may think that okay low board, you have here nothing I call you down with king high.

Some hands from today's session, gotta admit to feeling a little bummed out that there wasn't a lot of interaction tonight, it really felt like me and Kav having a conversation and that was it. If I'm being honest if that's the level it's going to stay at then FL on the EN side may be in jeopardy because that is one of the metrics used to see if something's worth keeping.

thats what you get for making it gold only. :/ I told you it would be bullshit to do gold+ just make it bronze or silver again and things will be fine. I might actually be able to interact with the coachings again for starters.

Hi Boomer, I'm very sorry I couldn't make the coaching, but the time for me makes it tough to get home from work, as I commute.

However, I really appreciate all your efforts. The level I'm at makes a lot of the advanced stuff harder to understand, and so I probably wouldn't be able to contribute much in the conversation, but I'll certainly try. Personally I'm always a little nervous of asking stupid questions, but you and the other coaches are always gracious so it's a daft concern.

This material is exactly what I want though - the strategy you teach is very hard to find elsewhere, and the only way to learn is to stretch yourself. Being able to watch again and again as podcasts later on, digest and apply etc is great.

And I'm sure this goes for pretty much all the FL community on PS.

Confirmed, there is no such thing as a foolish question

If you think your question isn't worthy just be aware than probably 5-10 people in the coaching are thinking the same thing. I don't bite :)

I dont really understand as well, why this is gold + exclusive coaching, but I guess the idea came from above. In this case its an idiots one, because the memories of Byrons cancelled gold status coaching should be still fresh, and this happened also due to the lack of attendance and interactivity. Why should one expect something different this time then ?

Also I think the material of the coaching is useful for everyone, or guys up to 0.25/0.5 dont need to learn how to play 3bet pots ?

Well I guess it makes sense as PS is a business. Why would people pay for the higher levels if everyone gets the same content ? As it's been said elsewhere the strategy articles for FL are out of date, so the only content that higher level players would find useful is the coaching.

And that's the important part of this - PS is a business, and if the FL English community doesn't hit a certain level then it doesn't make sense to keep it going.

i just wrote a 3 paragraph long reply to you but somehow i pressed f11 and f12 and backspace at the same time meaning i just lost the whole damn post /"!&/"#!¤%&

but in short. pstrategy would earn more money long term from our little community by having it silver than compared to gold as its only you kav and what yohan and a few others who actually are gold.. a lot of our members are beginners. I have had 5 "students" from these boards i've taught poker from scratch. mostly because they are afraid of paying for higher status. as imo its not worth for them as they would be getting themselves in a coaching they wont understand 90% of when they dont even know where 4 of a kind is in the hand ranking. I've had a student who thought it was 1p , 2p , 3ofakind, 4ofakind. etc . Don't tell me Boomers coaching would benefit them at all.

They would simply be dumb if they went ahead and spent 90% of their total br to get gold since they have no way of earning points other than buying it.

So pstrategy should make it more profitable for us to actually want to pay them money to keep our status(silver) instead of paying 4 times silver to get gold and they would only recieve our payment 1 time instead of silver for 12 months .. in the long run in our little community silver is more profitable than gold and even though i dont know the exact numbers I have no doubt in my mind that it would be more profitable.

ps: oops that was not a short post hahaha that was a 3 paragraph reply anyway lol.

One possible compromise would be to introduce a new intermediate status - just like Poker Stars did - Chrome Status!

I'm myself not prepared to grind iPoker sites to obtain or maintain gold status. (The status I hold a t m is one notch above what I should have, got it for free when Swedish PS shut down.) It used to be bearable to grind PS points at Ladbrokes (there was no FL, but it was no iPoker client either, now Ladbrokes is an iPoker skin like everything else, and PS points don't seem to work with them anymore).

Paying $39 (well, $19 per month if you pay for a year in one go) per month to see one or two coaching's (face it, they're on Friday nights!) is too steep. The thought of grinding many hours versus robots on iPoker sites, again to see one or two coaching's, is totally out of the question.

I haven't seen any of the coachings in this series, but I have a feeling that 3-barreling is definitely wrong. This is nothing I can prove, of course, but compare this to a 2-bet pot: I'd choose between x-back turn - fold river and x-back turn - call river depending on reads.

In a 3-bet pot, I think my choice would be between x-back turn - call river and bet turn, call river, simply because of the better odds for bluff-catching, and the value in getting a bad A high to fold on the turn (which isn't there in a 2-bet pot). But the 3-barrel targets A high folds, and K high calls. Very questionable. But I like the the JTs 3-barrel. I understand your principles (I think), but I'd put the dividing lines lower in my 3-betting range.

Its either you have nuff bluffs in your range or you dont have bluffs at all. And it depends on whether your opponent fold enough. As for the turn barrel I think its quite mandatory I would bet here AJ for value definitely, maybe I should bet AT/9 as well, but I also want ot have a x-range, and this needs to be strengthen a bit so I'd valuex with the bottom of my value range. The problem here is that so it becomes super narrow, AT,A9,A8s,KQo and thats it, so maybe it would be better to bet for value thinly and barrel the entire range with a slight overbluff, but Im not sure at all, so yeah its a tough spot. Unfortunately there werent too many things mentioned about this on the coaching.
