1) I analyzed the 3bet ranges and dont get it.
You 3 bet value only 12 combos, bluff 44 combos, so it means you fold 79% vs 4bet, right? Why so unbalanced? I understand that total 3bet % is low and many regs will see it is low, so they dont want to mess with it, so it should be purely exploitable right?

2) I noticed that lately most of the regs call AK, QQ vs MP and UTG (some 3bet vs MP), and they most have 3bet 4-5%. It means that they are unbalanced the same as range you suggested.
So I started 4betting wider with bluffs, is it ok adjustment?

3) If I know that a reg 3bets only KK+ for value, then I cant 4bet/call AK, QQ profitable, right? In that case I cant also 4bet/call KK since I will face also KK+?
IT seems that the best is to 4bet AA for value and be bluff heavy and flat JJ-KK, AQs, KQs?

I actually wonder about that too
I do A2s-A5s and AJo KQo as people 4bet bluff with blockers mostly so we block their blockers if that makes sense.
I see how you want to hit more textures with the J9s T8s but same as having an unbalanced 3betting range at micros which I believe is no big deal - is it rly necessary?

Why or 17.65% from MP? Isnt it a bit loose? Do you think we can open raise all those hands +EV especially 86s and similar?

I currently RFI UTG 11%, MP 14%. Since you open raise looser I guess mine is too tight. Can you please explain me, why it is better to open raise more hands? Do you expect hands like 86s to be +EV?

Also your SB RFI is 37%, which I also find loose, I have 27% from SB.

I dont think it really matters much if it is micro stakes or not. I think it is always better to have balanced range as standard, and you can adjust it to exploit people. If we have bluff heavy range as this 3bet range, we use more bluffs because we want to exploit people (we expect them to fold more than our FE needed), but we dont know if they fold. It actually is likely that people defend too wide at micro stakes, so this range doesnt make much sense imo to be standard.

And yes, with hands like AQ, AJ, KQ, KJ you block his 4bet bluff and value range, so if somebody creates e.g. 60% defend range vs 3bet all those broadways hands will have +EV. With hands like 67s-T9s they dont block at all, so if somebody defends properly they will not be +EV preflop, so we need to play them +EV postflop. They are more playable postflop, thats only advantage and I guess coatch is using them only OOP because he can barrel more and with broadways he plays IP because he can cbet flop and take free river card and thus realize equity ?

Well, its depends i guess. Why you think that you're too tight? And who said that 17.something is good? Different types of players have different OR.

For example, if your SB "winrate" is good, then why you should change something?

If my SB winrate is good, then I would look to change it if there is a place for improvement. If I reached max profit, I will stop changing it (impossible).

Depends on what? I guess depends on general population. For example, in stars on limits NL2-NL10 people play very tight preflop so I would open raise wider, but on NL50 regs 3bet more agro so I would be more tight to defend easier vs 3bet and anyway I dont think that suited gappers and hands like KTs, A9s are huge +EV, if +EV at all from MP.

Never stopping improvement is nice :)

I see your point. Just went over my OR and i realised that im tigher then some time ago. I guess i have adapted to player pool if we can call it like that.

As far as it goes for hands like 86s etc, which you mentioned earlier, i open them time to time in early positions, but i need a special reason for it. For example, a weak player in blinds or something like that.

This comment pretty much indicates you have not watched the videos and are simply analyzing the ranges. :P If you don't watch the video you will not understand how the ranges are supposed to be used. (Just putting this in bold because important that everyone realises this. That bluff range is not supposed to be used with 100% frequency).

Also please keep in mind this is a micro-stakes series and will focus heavily on exploitative lines.

If you would like to learn more about game theory optimal play please check out some of the later episodes of my previous series The Evolution of Poker.

I have no idea what's going on. They've had the video for a while now and are not releasing it for some reason.

EDIT - I asked and was told probably next week.

Hey weazel,

What do you think about the ranges in Jandas book. I have noticed that they are similar to the ones you recommend. Maybe a little bit looser sometimes. Im asking because i have the book and i could carry it with me and learn these ranges if you consider them good haha.

And btw what do you think about this book? Have you read it? Would it be good for me to study it as a microstakes player?

Greetz from Berlin _thumbsup:

Yeah, I'm a fan of matt janda.

Some of the stuff is highly theoretical though and not that relevant to the micros.

Some of the ideas that are correct according to game theory are going to burn money at micro limits.

Since we are on the topic of Matt Janda he estimates that GTO value for RFI MP is 17.9% and RFI SB is 36.35%.

In practice it's possible to open the SB even wider vs weak opposition. Similar from MP really, if there are weak non-aggressive players left to act we can expand our opening range.

This series is not really designed for nl50+ btw it's mainly designed for nl2-nl25. The objective here is not to provide a complete theoretical framework but simply teach a winning strategy at micro-limits in the shortest time possible.
