The Coaching Project

week in review
Yeah, my pc run without any problems and I just can concentrate on playing poker. Finally I finished my long theorie month about 3bet pots, decided for a new tracker program and solved my computer problems. All in all Im satisfied with my game. I had one recordsession with 3000 hands for the day and played 10 tables at the same time (just hu). In chess I concentrate on my endgame skills and will add the kings indian to my opening in the next days.

Plan is:
- black King should not reach d7,
- white needs position where black King is on e8 and white has available move Ke6.

Rest is trivial. Nastypasty showed longest resistance.

Goals of the month (1) take up time (2) analyse the hand
The last two days was not so good. I played too fast and didnt take up enaugh time. I also didnt analysed the hands very deeply. In the next days I will try to improve. To become better in hand analysis I will try to concentrate on 1 villain (when I play several tables) and to get 3 reads at least and learn them by heart without taking notes.

hand of the day
How do you play the river (and why)?

b]Full Tilt - $0.50 NL (2 max) - Holdem - 2 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

Hero (BB): $50.50
SB: $54.50

SB posts SB $0.25, Hero posts BB $0.50

Pre Flop: (pot: $0.75) Hero has 9♦ K♣

SB raises to $1.50, Hero calls $1.00

Flop: ($3.00, 2 players) 5♣ 7♣ Q♣
Hero checks, SB bets $2.25, Hero raises to $6.50, SB calls $4.25

Turn: ($16.00, 2 players) 8♥
Hero bets $11.20, SB calls $11.20

River: ($38.40, 2 players) K♦

I played a lot this week. I got a lot of action and played ok. Im very satisfied that I had no problems with my computer and everything is fine. I will add some more rooms like ongame,... I started this month to add nl50 again and had trouble to take up my time and analyse hands because I got so much action. I have to adapt and try my best.

In chess I added the kings indian defense. Now I have about 20 openings which I can use. I will try to improve my endgame abilities in the next few month (using silmans endgame book). I also look for another interesting thriller book series. When anyone can recommend I opened for every suggestion.

White is next to move. What are the plans for both players?

Goals of the month (1) take up time (2) analyse the hand
I did a good job the last day. I played not too fast and analysed the hands more deeply. I also add plan the hand, handreading and board analysis when I just have 2 villains. When it will be 3-4 I just plan the hand. And when it will be more than 4 I just try to pay attention to take up my time.

hand of the day
What is your riverplan (and why)?

It gets better and better. I take up my time and also improved in other parts of my game. I staay calm when I run bad and just concentrate on my learning goals. I played more hands than before and optimized my poker day. In chess I havent learn much more new things. Today I will work on my endgame skills. My computer is running well. Have a relaxed weekend.

deeper bet/f 2/3 pot imo, but given stack sizes we don't have room to b/f so either bet 1/3-1/4 wich is meh unless we have strong reads on how he plays on these spots or c/c.
maybe c/f if he is an ubber nit.

Here we should cf. Nothing worse will call and there is just the A in club which could bluff.

Goals of the month (1) take up time (2) plan the hand
I changed my goals. I replaced hand analysis (I will still analyse hands - but not so deeply because I have not so much time --> too many tables) by plan the hand on the flop. In the last days I was good in following my goals. I try to take at least 2 seconds before I make preflop any action.

hand of the day (villain is unknown)
What is your plan for the flop (how to react vs a 3bet, what to do when villains calls,....)?

only A :club: ? that's an extreme assumption, he could be turning any pair into a bluff otr, J :club:X T :club:X etc .. but again, if he is a brainless nit, we just c/f, but against anyone with half a brain I think c/c is much more profitable.

week in review
I had an interesting week. I tried to focus and take up time preflop and plan the hand on the flop. I did it great most of the time and are proud of myself. I just had 2 coachings last week but got a lot of interesting information. I also worked on my chess skills (endgame, tactic and live play).

Goals of the month (1) take up time (2) analyse the hand
In the last days I was not so satisfied with my game. I played too fast and didnt thought deeply. I also discovered that I have problems to play Nl50 again. I just run break-even and have to find out why.
