Congratulations mate, best thing that could happen to one is happening to you!
:f_love:

You can skype me whenever if you want some tips
Quick tip number one: sleep now as much as you can because you won't be able for 1st 6 months after demonic226 jr is born :)

edit: Hu4rollz GerovitJr vs DemonicJr ?

Oh, btw, could you give advice on earplug use (you may give Serbia/Bulgaria-specific tips too :f_wink: ). My current neighbours have nasty children making a lot of noise in the daytime, who're making me totally sleep-deprived even without fatherhood, and my current earplugs (hailing from an IKEA cinema, lol) make me feel the blood pressure and my ears hurt :f_cry:

Thanks! Yeah I know right, I'm happy!

I definitely will Skype you one of these days to ask for some solid advice :f_biggrin:

I'm afraid the mother told me DemonicJr is not allowed to play pokerz so I'm not sure that will happen But instead of learning him Dutch I will just teach him handranges when his mother is not around

Few hints and myth busters...
it is not true u ll not sleep well first 6 monts - u ll not sleep well ever :) seriuosly...
switching to cash game, ear plugs - that s bull*. U need to grind only in the time u know u have time = someone else is takin care of the baby and u have full concentration, full focus...obv emergency can happen but that can happen without baby too...

glgl it all depends on many factors, your wife (girlfriend), possible babysitting by grandmas, how the baby sleeps, how can u sleep and so on...

me personally I cant sleep "deeply" for 4 years already, only when am really really tired (like onc ein 2 months). I can be awake by every little sound comin from child room...which sux. And really, workin + babysitting is sometin u cant combine ever. Give u example of my cash game player friend, one tabling some NL400 and takin care of a baby that could not even walk, one minute focus on tables and baby somehow climbed on the desk of the table lol. In that moment imagine how angry at yourself u must be...well, u ll imagine it after the baby will be born, u ll see...;) changes everyting, your attitude on lot of things :) but it s awesome

enjoy!

Thanks, and thanks a lot for the advice! It seems I will have to figure something out for babysitting from time to time then.

You've strengthened my belief that having children is minus life EV :f_biggrin:

Living my own life well, helping a lot of existing people. There's no need for everyone to produce new lives - the Earth is already overcrowded, it won't be able to give a comfortable shelter to 12 bln humans. Someone is talented at bringing children up and fond of them, but someone like me isn't. I think I'll bring more value to adults if I concentrate on them.

I didn't plan it either, but I'm pretty excited about it now despite the prospect of never being able to sleep well for the rest of my life :P

Not sure whether you can get these plugs where you are, but they have been a godsend for me. My flat is on a main road in London and combined with weird noises from the neighbour above, I was getting seriously sleep deprived. Obviously they don't cut out all the noise but much better than conventional plugs. It doesn't have to be this brand. Just look for soft silicon type ones and hopefully you'll find something similar. One pair lasts me around 2 weeks which I calculate at about 5p per day. And as someone who loves his sleep, that's a rake that's well worth it :f_cool:

Oh and needless to say, a big congratulations to the new daddy on the block! Just please ignore all references made above to a thing called sleep. It's a concept that may no longer apply to you for a while

Thanks for the advice about silicon, I'll make sure to find it in each country I'll be living in :f_thumbsup:

Spoiler

I mean earplugs, not girls :f_tongue:

I actually have used these as well before, when I was still living in Denmark and I had the same problem as you do now. Super thin walls and a neighbor who has a noisy girlfriend and noisy children (how ironic) is not fun.

I find them much better than the standard soft earplugs you can get at festivals etc, it completely blocks out the noise and I slept like a baby.

Congrats on having the blog advertised to new players in the headline! =) You have the power to attract bigger interest to STTs! And it goes without saying that an end-month update is due :f_wink:

Thanks for mentioning it, I didn't notice haha
That's cool!

And now the end of the month update is even overdue :P

So let me do it now.

The month of May was a month of extreme run-good, but of too low volume. I had set myself a goal of 1600 games and I just managed to do half. There are several reasons for this, but excuses don't make money so I will change my habits in a few ways:

- Slowly change from tiling to stacking my tables
- Increase my multi tabling to 11 tables instead of the current 9
- Consistently wake up at 8 (I'm waking up at 8.30 now)

Another thing that will greatly help my volume is that I found an apartment of my own again in Amsterdam, which I will move into already tomorrow (for the time being I was living at my mom's after I came back from Copenhagen). As a result I can have lunch and dinner again at the times it suits me meaning I won't have to cut my sessions short just because I need to eat.

On to the numbers of last month:

894 games, 11.9% ROI, 4.9% EV ROI

Profits:
$3086
$489 RB (all sites combined)

Total: $3575

Hours: 99
ABI: $27.08

I played my first session today in my new apartment. It's not really optimal yet because I still need to buy a desk that I can easily fold and put aside (to save space). For now I'm grinding on the dinner table, which will do for now but is not ideal long-term. Furthermore, I couldn't bring my desk chair yet so it's a bit uncomfortable.

It's quite a nice place, it's a 30m2 studio apartment in Amsterdam with an awesome view (because it's on the 9th floor). Everything is brand-new which a big plus in Amsterdam because a lot of apartments/houses are old and noisy. The best thing is that a friend of mine literally lives 4 doors down the hall which is really cool, it's a total coincidence though.

Unfortunately I have not grinded much yet this month and it's going to be really hard to put in decent volume. I caught an eye infection because of my contact lenses (at least because of some bacterial infection) so I was not able to grind much at all cause I had to rest my eyes.

Furthermore, on the 23rd of June I will have my tonsils removed knocking me out for at least a week up to 10-14 days. I had hoped to get a head start in terms of volume before that but that obviously didn't fly. I will try to put in 100 games a day for the remaining days I have in June. That is if my eyes allow it, if they get irritated again I will have to take it easy again, because I don't want to take any risk ruining them obviously.
