Hi everyone,

After a very nice weekend and some football celebration it's time for an update. Been working on getting some RB and climbing some VIP ladders so at the end of the month I expect to get 9-10k$ of RB that will push the overall amount even further. Been running pretty hot on NL100&NL400 but extremely bad at the NL200 tables but that was to be expected since 14bb wasn't a real WR. Performance wise it seem to be more stable and I'm now more in my ideal grinding zone.

TOTAL CHALLENGE: 40 776.07$(LAST UPDATE) + 7 611.09$(WINNINGS 3 DAYS) = 48 387.16$/ 100 000$

So that's it! Next update on Sunday/Monday if nothing comes in between. Cya! :)

Nothing personal, just don`t like people who sell useless books/videos to scam beginers. (we all know who..)

From just looking at your blog, i think in winnings you have something like 1-2k and the rest is rakeback/FDB/ other bonus / extra bonus / mega bonus... guess you had like 100% RB deal...

Anyway, as i said, nothing personal, like your work ethic.

Judging by history an interesting comment (couple months ago).

That happens when you judge early, patronize others and play "protector" to all the people "who are so stupid and can't decide for themselves".
If Hans thought like you, he would be where you are right now.

For what it's worth, the poker world is full of scam(s). The best way to combat this is to be open and show real proof of what you are doing.

Pokerstrategy as a big company does this by implementing certain policies that deter bad actors. They have also been open about their business model from day one.

As a coach i show-case students. I'm still waiting for other coaches to do this as it would greatly help to clean up the coaching industry and get rid of people who are only good on video.

However, in the end we do not need to patronize people. They are smart enough. As a beginner i bought EVERY poker book.
And by my standards today most of them are huge crap. Ironically they helped me anyways.

Ok, now back on topic. Hans FTW!

Dude, just go sell the book somplace else. Stop bugging me.

Hans said, he played up to NL50 before starting this deal on his own, from my point of view he might have been a NL200-400 player before the challange, you can`t prove/ i can`t prove if that is true or not. Just by buying a dumb book that shows you some ranges and a general gameplan, does not mean you will succed, and i am pretty sure that one guy starting from NL2 on his own might not get with just your book further then NL10, maybe be a BE player at NL25.

Hans had personal coaching with you, if someone buys the book he will not get the same benefits. Just let it rest, all the info in your book you can find on Pokerstrategy just by generating some SP points playin NL2.

You were a good player at some point, i guess, but when it comes to marketing to me you sound like all those people who sell land on the moon, get it cheap, you can even grow tomatos, maybe i am wrong, but you`re attitude is what i find the most disgusting of all.

If you really want to do something and prove that book does wonders, ok, i have a challange for you.

Make a thread here on pokerstrategy, let people post and say: i want to start a challange with Gordon, maybe add some conditions first, i pick 5 people, you give them your book, and let`s see how they make it on their own to NL100.

Or come up with something similar to my challange, if you find an excuse not to, then... i guess i am right about you.

Here is a more realistic example of a buyer of that book.
There is no real life, only AFK.

I tried it too but that lead to catastrophic results at nl25. Maybe I should have tried it on nl2.

Let's not talk about my video-book. I mean, i have no problem and would of course encourage this, but i always have and always will respect the community rules.

I am sure there are threads where "outside" educational products can be discussed. Again, i have no problem answering anything, but PS has rules and that's it.

We need to get away from the "magic pill" thinking. When somebody has success and i have helped, i will take credit for it. I am happy, but still want to point out that THE STUDENT is the most responsible.
All the coach does is to help other people realize their potential (that they already have!).

Every good coach knows that he provides only a "shortcut". Somebody who is motivated and wants to succeed at this game (or anything else in life), will do this even if he never meets Raskolnikov or any other coach.
Ironically i myself am an example of somebody who has never had a coach.

Anybody who knows me knows that i teach RESPONSIBILITY over everything. So while i am happy for every person seeing my PS videos and improving their game & life, it should be noted that it is still YOU who makes things happen.
Unfortunately that goes both ways. Not everybody who watches PS videos or from other coaching site will become a winner. Not everybody wants to.

My issue with negativity:

There are always trolls and negative people who step in when things don't go well. Hans was 100k hands breakeven and that is the time when negative people come in.
I happily admit that i work hard for the long run and that i do enjoy having "the last laugh".

Also thanks to everybody who is so positive and makes this places here great despite all the difference that we will always have!

Hans, could you record a session of nl100+ the same way you did at then beginning where you played and were refering to "the book says to do so" when you were facing certain spots?
Would be useful to compare how to adjust when movig to mid stakes.

So guys,

Looks like a missed some discussion. But yeah let's start one by one:

@Kris6
TX mate! That's what I love to hear and that's always a big compliment for blogging.
About coaching, where for now and in the forthcoming future I probably won't coach because I want to first establish a very solid game that will allow me to beat mid stakes.

@Discussion
About my background can be and the proof that I was mostly a low stakes regular can be found HERE. I pretty opened to criticism and I have to say there were tough times where actually this kind of things helped me more then anything else. Now Gordon and me of course have now some positive momentum and probably each one of us enjoys it in a different way but I have to say that in general there is nothing better when you open your thread and read a nice comment like Kris6 ones. Motivating community members is big honor and as well a motivation for keeping me accountable/working on my game. In the end that's part of the reason why I blog and why I follow other blogs.

@ilioas
I will think about. I can't guarantee you because I definitely not gonna do on the sites where I will get the most action (wanna stay unknown) but could probably on a smaller one.

Now about the update. Well I hit stop loss after a long while today. You wouldn't believe because it's really a long time since I haven't but after being 1,3k down on a mixture of NL100&200&400 I decided to C it day. I would rate my game as B. My bluffs got caught,people had the top their ranges, me make mistakes and everything together makes a stop loss day. But yeah, sort of was to be expected since the nice run can't really continue forever. Anyway this is what I came up with for the last 3 days:

Sadly this time I can't add any exciting number to the overall challenge situation but as soon as I will get RB(which I'm working) on I hope to be able to surpass the 50k mark.

TOTAL CHALLENGE: 48 387.16$(LAST UPDATE) + 24.26$(WINNINGS 3 DAYS) = 48 411.42$/ 100 000$

Anyway that's it for today. Take care guys and cya mid next week! :)

Hi everyone,

So this is going to be a little bit of a longer grind update, but it's also going to be probably one of the last once for this month. So there is a lot of things to write about and so I should probably start.

As it was in some sort of way predictable I hit the downer. Not to worried about it(besides here and there the word ''F**k'' or the mighty 2 poker words ''So sick'' ) as I'm always looking to find the positive side of the so called bad things. It simply time to work more so edge becomes bigger and swings influence less the overall result.

No what I love about downers is the fact that they make me more aware about my game and they are in general a very good time to learn and understand that it's not about losing or winning a pot where you are in though decision but rather are you gonna be here often enough good? So time to double check each decision(analyze mathematically and use reads) and so I decided to take some couple of days with more ''relaxed grinding''. This simply means more off table work and less grind.

Also I got a ton of questions and suggestions regarding the ''NO 6max BS'' so probably will have to find a way how to handle this in the best possible way. All in all probably going to grind very little until the end of the month and work more off table. Definitely really looking forward.

Performance wise it's OK-ish. Could be way better because here and there due frustration I make a play or two that wasn't supposed to happen but it's really hard to keep consistently playing solid. Anyway here are the results:

I haven't had a minus update for a longer while but I waited on purpose this 4 days because I got RB and that's still gonna push the overall amount. :)

TOTAL CHALLENGE: 48 411.42$(LAST UPDATE) - 2 764$(WINNINGS 3 DAYS) + 10 040.73$(7355€) = 55 688.15$/ 100 000$

So with RB there is a very likely chance that I will have my first 20k$ month. But still I will play some hands and let's hope that they don't all go that wrong. :)

Anyway time to end this post. Cya! :)

Congratulations man, because of your solid performance and for most of us it's something wonderful to win 55 688$ in 145 days!!! You are good and I wish you all the best!
On the other way, it's very nice to find some time to answer to the questions in connection to the book.

@Kris6
TX mate! I have to say that I'm also overall satisfied.

@botox
TY! Do you want to see specific limit or overall for the challenge?

Hi guys,

It's time for an update although this time a short one. Played only 2 days but my concentration is kind pretty low lately. Don't know why but I find it currently hard to keep my focus on good level. I also spent a decent portion of the time doing some off table work.

Performance wise it was generally OK besides of course the above mentioned focus issue. I also coached my first and only student for that I had/have and it was really nice. I also used the money from coaching to donate it for the flood victims in my country. Felt really good about it.

TOTAL CHALLENGE: 55 688.15$(LAST UPDATE) + 2 347.1$(WINNINGS 2 DAYS) = 58 035.25$/ 100 000$

TTYA guys! :)

@murzius
Well, no matter what you are doing I think this often happens. I personally already learned only taking care about the big picture. GL!

Ola everyone,

Almost week without update. Seems like a really long time. I had also my small vacation in between with elementary school reunion and some parties along the way. Also was in charge of actually taking care about the organization of the meeting but not anymore so I probably going to start grinding again 6h/day. I will go down because I wanna focus on quality currently and have other things that I working on.

I kinda have to admit as the summer comes it's harder to find be extremely focused. I mean especially in my country that almost lives from tourism I consistently seem all this nice festival,concerts, cultural events that you really get tempted to kinda skip hours. I mean summer is definitely not the dream time to play poker and no wonder that the traffic(quality) goes down.

Anyway about my days. Performance wise OK-ish and what I like more is that I'm getting consistent. Result wise could it's also not bad since I had only 1 stop loss day but all in all I'm satisfied. Anyway here are the results:

TOTAL CHALLENGE: 58 035.25$(LAST UPDATE) + 849.24$(WINNINGS 3 DAYS) = 58 884.49$/ 100 000$

Anyway that's it for the 3 days. Now it's time to review the past month.

May Report

In short words my best month ever money wise because of the help of RB. I mean 12k$ in winnings is not a bad result but the 10k$ that I accumulated in the last couple of months came as a nice bonus and so push the month overall income +22k$.

Despite money wise of course being awesome poker knowledge and improvement wise it has been mediocre. It's not like I didn't learn anything but also I'm not too satisfied as well not really with the volume as well. But I went for quality and so I can't complain overall.

Cya guys by the end of the week! :)

wait, so you successfully turned 50$ into 50k in a few months by just grinding cash games?
