I don't really think that it's a good idea to setmine vs 3bets oop for 103bb. His 3b sizing is reasonable (3x -1 small blind) and you are out of position.
If you find yourself not knowing what to do in those spots and sometimes calling 44, sometimes folding, etc, you should just work out what range you plan to defend in this spot CO vs. BU 3bet by calling and stick to it vs. unknowns / modify it with the information you get from your reads and HUD.

The general guidelines that I can give you is that on nl25 you pay A LOT of rake, so you should look for situations where you can have a big edge (people with high 3bet + high fold to 4bet, ppl that are really passive postflop, people that fold a lot to check-raise etc.) and if you don't know if you have a big edge, look for it by having a strong range :f_love:

P.S. about the hand - with your c/r sizing and considering the fact that you plan to not bluff further streets, your opponent actually made a correct call on the flop, because he needs ~20% equity to the river and he actually has 30% with his bdfd, bdsd and 2 overcards

Thanks alot for the input! Really means alot to get input and especially in the blog. I will think about the rake and I will work on my 3b calling ranges eventually however my main focus now is playing hte blinds. But when i feel i got that down somewhat ill move on to working on my 3b game. Until then ill fold 44 ;) I realize i missplayed the hand i tought it was funny how it turned out in the end tho :)

Heres a hand i just played. I have a SOLID read that villain spews in bigger pots when checked to (i have 4 notes on him going absolutely BERZERK with air when checked to postflop) oh and his ft3b% was 82% over a 1k hand saomple so my 3b pre was as a pure bluff. Also he had folded 100% to vb in 3b pots (4/4 times)

Here is my first really undiciplined call in a while. Yelled FUUUUUU and called which i think shows my mindset isnt that great just yet. I think it was better betting small and folding to a raise here since i think all 2p and trips he will call and raise flushes so i guess betting small and folding to a raise would save me 5 bucks here or se.

about the KQ hand - you do a betsizing mistake again. All things aside (preflop probably sqz > call, flop bigger c/r as well or just call) this is a board where we can probably assume that strong hands want to fastplay - 2 middlish connected cards with flush draw, so even tho CO can still have strong hands, I would highly reduce the number of JT, 33, TT, JJ hands once he only calls.

Not gonna dwell deep on ranges too much, just gonna give you simple math again - the average flushdraw on the turn has 22% equity against you, his particular one has 23% because of the 2 queens that make it a split. With your betsizing, he needs ~24% to continue, so while it is still a mistake from him, it is such a small one that it almost doesn't make a difference.
It is not that you want him to fold flushdraws once you hit tho, but you should force him into making a bigger mistake, because I doubt that he is folding to anything but an overbet.

River small bet/fold is ok (like 20-30% pot), because he is never raising you with Jx that you are looking for a call from if he ever has Jx in this spot. Check/fold is also good with that in mind, how often is he really gonna float a 3way flop check-raise and turn bet and bluff the flush card on the river? :f_o:

First off thanks for the comment :) I think KQ isnt that big of a mistake to call pre. I had no info villain foldto3b and as you said the rake on NL25 is huge. I think its decent to call to keep the pot small and reduce rake. Also i think by calling i keep alot of worse hands in the pot instead of 3b and isolating vs a range im slight ahead of.

Regarding the flop c/r size im not too sure why i would make it bigger. Im not trying to make a flushdraw fold because he wont. If i face a 3b i can easily fold with this sizing. And i think the avg villain doesnt think "oh he bet 4.1 instead of 4.8 now i must call with my 9x". But as you say i think i could also c/c flop here.

The turn i agree i could make it bigger and obv i hate my river play :)

Squeezing will have you pay way less rake than just calling since often you won't see a flop and therefore there will be no rake.

But if our intention with a 3b is to get folds why use KQ which actually have good playability?

I don't think the playability of KQo is that great OOP and multiway.

My thought was what does he really cc cc donk OTR? I had a hard time seeing what worse hand he would do this with.
Yeah he could do it with 44 and 77 (6 combos) + 78 (3combos) but he could also play the same way with 56(16 combos) J9(16combos) and something like 96s (4 combos) TT(3 combos).

My general assumption is that ppl on NL10 dont really bluff in theese spots and im not sure they donk valuebet something random like KQ.

He flats from the SB so unless he is very fishy he only has 4 combos of J9 and 4 of 56 at the very most. 96s is quite unlikely. All in all I'd say maybe 5-6 combos of straights is reasonable assumption.

This is why I think all of J9s,56s,96s are unlikely

a) He flats pre from sb. Unless he's quite fishy he probably doesn't call these, especially the gappers. And if he is fishy, then he donks river with many Kx hands anyway. (fish can easily play AK like this)
b) He doesn't raise turn. Especially for the 56s/96s I'd expect to see a turn raise here a lot of the time.
c) He donkbets out on what is a scare card for most of your barrelling range.

I don't think he is bluffing often but you beat a lot that he is betting for value here. And the thing is even if you were beat fairly often (which imo you are not), here you only need to be good 28% of the time with middle set. It should be a snap imo. Some info on villain would be good though.
