Hello everyone,

For the next 2 months (6 coachings) I will be hosting a new coaching series entitled: Profile your opponents.

Unless otherwise specified all the coachings will be at 20:00 CET (19:00 UK) on Sundays (the last two coachings will be two weeks apart). Coaching dates: May 18, May 25, June 1, June 8, June 22 and July 6.

During the first 5 coachings we will cover one player type (starting with the NIT and moving on to the TAG, LAG, Maniac and finally the calling stations). During our last coaching we will have "the Exam" where I will be presenting various examples and allow the students (you) to work out the answers. I will be providing hints, throwing you off with tricky questions and overall assist you in developing your own thought process.

The topic for the first week will be:

"Profile your opponents: The NIT" and it will run this coming Sunday, May 18, from 20:00 CET (19:00 UK).

During the coaching we will look at this article: http://www.pokerstrategy.com/strategy/bss/2271/1/ and expend on it.

We will be talking about how to spot these players & how to exploit them.

We will use hand histories and material prepared by me however I highly encourage everyone to post their own questions and hand histories below. Please keep in mind that the questions or hand histories have to be around playing "the NIT".

Great. What stakes this coach's apply to? Currently I'm playing NL5 SH. Do I will benefit from this coach's or it's to advanced to the limit I'm playing?

You should definitely benefit from this coaching.

It's meant for microstakes and examples will be used from 5nl/10nl (and sometimes higher).

In the time of the hand didn't know if had this stats already, but knew he was a nit.
Flop, my doubt is if he would call a raise with sets. Also I don't see on his range many KQ, maybe only the suited ones.
Would a nit check/raise with A:dK:d, A:dJ:d or A:dQ:d on this spot?

On the flop is range is mostly low pocket pairs (TT-22) for set mine. If he has some Ace with broadways think will check/fold when not improved. Maybe a cbet isn't that bad since he almost always will set mine, so i think can take the pot about 70% of the time.

NL5/NL10 what are the average VPIP, PFR, WTSD, 3bet and Agg% of a nit? (only posted this two hands because selected opponents with VPIP up to 12).

Really liked a lot this coaching. Very interesting this format. Looking forward to the next ones.

There is a type of player that will not be covered: the unknown. Is there a chance to give here or in one coaching the basic approach to this kind of player (in some part i think this is a little dumb because we can have always some kind of "read" on the opponent ♦ ).

Hi Sarvam,

We will definitely touch on the "unknown" but generally speaking you have to label them as one type of opponent (ie: if he is full stacked, not limping, etc we could say he/she is most likely a tag and we proceed accordingly).

Last time we discussed about Nit opponent.

I forgot to write that was a very good coaching. We learned to think and how to adapt to our opponents play (we learned how to exploit a Nit and that is by folding).

Today's coaching is a special one, for a lot of us we learn how to "exploit ourselves" because most of us are TAG (or maybe Nits in my case :P ).

Could you please talk about situations were it is better to widen our ranges or to narrow them and how do you think it is better vs standard TAG players ?

Do you think that Loose passive players can exploit TAG players when they play IP ? (loose passive players has position on TAG)

I really liked the coaching alot today. I was late, however, the last 45 minutes was very good content delivered. Took many notes and try to get better against this opponent. :)

Good coach who delivers good content in an understandable way... :)

Thanks for the welcome and I must say from the little bit of looking around that this is perhaps the best and most detailed and vast site for poker training i have seen. It has a different feel then a lot of others too. You can just tell this site is quite infinite.

Now, yes I saw right after my post that Silver was required and I believe it said $9/mo or $5 if an annual payment at one time was made. Not a bad deal.

I will also look at many of the 487 vids too for Basic members and am prob not interested in the free money deals (that is if that is from signing up via affiliates, etc.)

I guess for starters since I kind of feel lost here it would be wise to follow the suggestions u gave me in the post. I would like to ask if you could stay on my though for I am very interested in becoming a long term money making PLO and/or PLO8 player online only. I'm not much into live but am all about online and though I have the HEM2, etc...I feel very much a novice player who wishes to not be novice and make money ...lots of money via online poker. I am USA player so as you know that couldn't SUCK more!
