thought he was turning Tx into a bluff. no more perfect river to do it for him and hes a big winner so thought he was capeable. pretty clear i have an overpair by that point

fine with the call. he basically was repping quads or float--->turned clubdraw--->bluff river. river perfect for me really as any flush he did happen to have now can't value bet...and certainly can't value bet this large. so yeah, feels stupid saying this but i think it's pretty much a cooler. literally only hands he can turn over are 22, and TT. cant even have 77. thought he was much more likely to have a hand that you know...wasn't quads. surprised he bet so big, dunno what i have to pay him off with.

disappointed with how that went, but whole point of this package was to win the 1k so we're still on course :)

Personally I would fold pre (no playability postflop, we can get 3b PF, we are alw OOP, we can only cbet the higher boards). Once I open it and get called from BB vs my EP raise I would ch/f this flop. We can go 3 streets as a bluff here I agree, problem is that our hand is dire to go 3 streets with. Going one barrel sucks ass so we really should just ch/f. Also completely disagree he can't have 77. Some ppl will def ch/rai 77 here (I am not saying whether it is good or bad).

If you don't think he can have Tx then he can't rly have too much air. If you think he can have air, he can have Tx. Just my 2 cents :) Also if he perceives you as the levelling type don't be surprised to see his range merged OTR. Can imagine seeing NF here from time to time.

^pre is fine, postflop was freaking horrible imo

I already gave my analysis on the hand. he was the lag fish aggro guy. The type who'll try and rep things that are impossible to rep. If he had 77 here then it's kinda weird because i have alot of Tx in my range too, not saying he cant have 77 ever but when he overbets it's pretty suicidal against my percieved calling range of overpairs and Tx. and plenty of people find the fold with overpairs (which play no different to 44 in reality) so if he's overbetting 77 then it's very ambitious. same with nutflush, i fold if he just bets like half pot cuz he has a wayyy less polarised range. Like we saw with my AA herocall, guy overjammed river to get me off an overpair and if this guy is the type to go for it too then yeah, it's a call imo.

like i said if he turned up with anything other than quads or air i'd be surprised, although AT isn't out of the question either. aside from that i'm still fine with it.

Everyone entitled to their own opinions though. If I was worried about looking stupid I would have folded, I would have folded the aces hand earlier too, I post these hands for transparency, i played my heart out in every tournament i played on sunday. pulling some good bluffs and making some good calls, this one didn't go my way unfortunately. Wether that was because he had 90% air and 10% value and just happened to have the value like I believe, or wether I made a terrible misread of the whole situation we truely will never know ^_^

@fusionpk - also I'd open fold pre if i had 20bbish or less, but 100bb deep, when the whole table is 40+BB deep, i strongly disagree of it being a fold.

also your statement that we're always oop is definitely wrong given the most likely single caller is the BB

also IMO that's a pretty nitty analysis you gave on pre, flop and turn :P...check folding TT2 flop with 44? if we check back flop we're folding almost 0 turn cards to a single, normal sized bet. I was betting flop and turn for value (and so i could dictate sizings if i was beat by a hand like 99) with plans of checking back river

Actually everything I said is pretty much std. you can argue about pre fine w/e but most CG specialists fold 22-66 there and their tables nrly alw 100bb deep but OK you have antes etc so lets just assume it's fine.

You say you have alot of Tx in your range. Completely disagree. ATs T9s JTs what else? That's 6 combos?

You are almost always out of position since most of the time you get called IP by someone trying to spike vs your strong UTG range.

I can't believe how you can't see the point in not cbetting that board with 44. What on earth do you think ppl call with blinds vs EP. Their range is practically pairs occasional strong suited hands and like AQ/AK. Cbetting makes so little sense here. We only really want to cbet if we are just going to bang in 3 barrels. We can pull 3 barrels here for sure, but not 100% of the time and 44 is probably the nut worst hand to do so with.

I don't think he particularly reps a T with the flop ch/rai at all. He has only a small amt of Ts in his range. He reps _AIR_. Hence why he probably made this play with TT. Intentionally repping air and getting called down by the majority of your strong EP range.

He could easily bet so big with NF OTR since you _DON'T_ have alot of Tx in your range at all. You say you do but you don't? You have like 6combos? Some of which may even raise OTT for protection.

77 isn't a massive part of his range but given that his hand can't rly ch/call 3 streets etc. he may ch/rai (I don't think this is a gr8 play but alot of ppl do it).

"I was betting flop and turn for value (and so i could dictate sizings if i was beat by a hand like 99) with plans of checking back river" - All you are doing is betting into a range that you are _behind_?

I wasn't even having a go at you before I was just browsing and saw the hand. I just think it's rly spewy overall. You seem way too 'selective' on your reads to justify getting completely leveled.

I mean just simply in terms of hand selection and what we want to be defending here 44 is just the shittest hand in the world, frankly i'd rather have AK.

seems like a simple open pre flop, cahs games are different because opponents are good :)

flop is a protection bet, perfectly fine.

turn is a train crash imo.

id just check back and fold to a river bet (i dont imagine him turning a high into a bluff otr) but call if you have reads

i fold up to 55 UTG in 6max cash :)

anyway, we have different opinions I guess. FWIW i didn't at all say there is no point in not cbetting the flop with 44, i just said im not folding to a turn bet if we check back.

anyway. we disagree with eachother, I've explained my reasoning, at the end of the day that's all i can do, I had my readz on the player, my reads were clearly wrong on this occasion ^_^. you disagree with the hand, that's fine. nevermind. :)
