Usually just fold vs 4bet here (even a lot of the regs not actively 4b bluffing).

However if we know the guy is capable of 4betting light then 5betting and flatting both become reasonable options.

So I just remade them in PT4 xD

I made my own HUD over the weekend, I was using the default expert one in HM2 before that, but I'm liking this one way more :) The thing I find most useful is breaking down the HUD into smaller panels. My pop-ups are pretty ugly though, so I won't post them  If anyone can give me some guidelines on color coding, please share :f_love:

Stats are:
Name - Hands
VPIP - PFR - 3Bet - F23Bet

I have Fold SB/BB to steal on the right.

And on the bottom:
RFI broken down to positions
CBET - F2CBET - WTSD - AF

Hi, w34z3l!

So here is my homework for the 3rd episode:

This is my HUD that I'm using for quite a while now:

Name/Hands/WTSD
VPIP/PFR/3Bet/Ft3Bet
CBet F/FtCbet F/F BB to SB St/AF
RFI from every position

And here are my popups. They are relatively new, so I am still tweaking and adding things, but mainly I'm working on adding new custom definitions to NC for my popups.

General popup:

Spoiler

3Bet and vs3Bet popups:

CBet(red) and vsCbet(green) popups:

Steal popup:

And small WTSD and AF popups:

Win rate in big blinds / 100 hands: 1.60 over 50k sample
Standard deviation in big blinds / 100 hands: 90 _o:
BR: 250
6max nolimit: nl5

ROR formula I found :
ROR = e ^ (-2WB / (S ^ 2)) = 13.87
e = constant (2.718281828)
W = win rate bb/100(1.60)
S = standard deviation bb/100(90)
B = bankroll in bbs(5000)

ROR
500 big blinds 82.08%
1000 big blinds 67.36%
2000 big blinds 45.38%
3000 big blinds 30.57%
4000 big blinds 20.59%
5000 big blinds 13.87% :f_cry:
Minimum bankroll
(for less than 5% risk of ruin) 7583 big blinds :f_eek:

I used an online calculator from http://www.pokerolymp.com/articles/show/keine/13048/variance-calculator

My actual BRM:
........ UP ......... DOWN
nl2....25BI........ -
nl5....25BI........20BI to nl2
nl10..30BI........20BI to nl5
nl25..40BI........30BI to nl10
nl50..50BI........40BI to nl25

According to my ROR calculation I should have a more nitty BRM for a 5% ROR but I would rather reload than have a 75BI BRM.

3. ?(This is my HUD right now:

VPIP / PFR / 3BET / FOLD TO 3BET / SQUEEZE
POSTFLOP AGG / FLOP CBET / FLOP FOLD TO CBET / TURN CBET / TURN FOLD TO CBET / WTSD% (when saw flop)
EP PFR / MP PFR / CO PFR / BTN PFR / SB PFR
BTN STEAL / CO STEAL / TOT FOLD TO STEAL / BTN REST vs CO STEAL / BB FOLD vs SB STEAL
RIVER BET / RIVER FOLD 2 BET / RIVER CALL 2 BET

Great series! Keep up the good work! _cool:

Hi, w34z3l!

I just wanted to give an update of my evolution since I started to use the ranges you suggested.

At the beggining of the series I was BE at nl5.

Now I'm sitting at nl10 with a winrate of 12bb/100 after 30k hands and today was my first shot at nl16, a good one :P.

I managed to increase nr. of tables from 6 to 9 and the number of hands from 1k a day to 2k-2.5k in the last week .

So I just wanted to say thank you for the effort you are putting in this and I will definitely do all the homeworks !!! _biggrin:

Problems of the very basic nature sire, for instance I don't know how to effectively use the software. What is equity? My chance of winning a pot every time an opponent folds or every time the hand goes down to showdown?
Please guide me on how can I use the software efficiently and effectively with regards to Senor w34z3l's given ranges.

I'm using Poker Ranger instead of equilab, so I can't give you software specific tips, but equity is your chance of your range winning in an all-in situation against villain's range on given board or no board(preflop). The main reason the ranges are given in equilab is to help you visualise it though. If I'm wrong about something, someone correct me :f_love:

I cracked up at reading senor w34z3l btw.

Hi, KannabisFury

Here is an article on equity from the glossary.
http://www.pokerstrategy.com/glossary/Equity/

What it is basically saying that if you are in this exact situation 100 times (same pot size, same cards, same board, villain has same range) you will win that percentage of the money.

Equilab calculates this for you.

If you find yourself behind, that doesn't mean though that you always have to give up.
You might have a good draw to a better hand.
There might be implied odds, which means that the pot might get bigger so that when you hit you win more.
You miight get villain to fold his better hand

Cheers,
--VS

Hi,

I'm pretty sick at the moment, and can't play whatsoever. But at least, I want to post some homework. Yes, I'm taking 30 mins out of bed, to review my hands, if my cbetting was correct and where it needs improvement (which were played, before I watched this series, but I have quite some volume, so I might find something).

# Hand 1 - Delayed Cbetting IP in 3bet pot

Spoiler

PokerStars - $0.02 NL FAST (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

Hero (BTN): 104 BB
SB: 307.5 BB (VPIP: 28.81, PFR: 3.39, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 60)
BB: 78 BB (VPIP: 18.18, PFR: 14.39, 3Bet Preflop: 2.86, Hands: 136)
UTG: 120 BB (VPIP: 14.29, PFR: 9.52, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 23)
MP: 88 BB (VPIP: 28.57, PFR: 0.00, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 14)
CO: 183 BB (VPIP: 12.50, PFR: 12.50, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 8)

SB posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has A♥ J♣

UTG raises to 3 BB, MP calls 3 BB, fold, Hero raises to 12 BB, fold, fold, UTG calls 9 BB, fold

Flop: (28.5 BB, 2 players) 9♥ 3♠ 2♣
UTG checks, Hero checks

Turn: (28.5 BB, 2 players) 4♦
UTG checks, Hero bets 17 BB, fold

Hero wins 27.5 BB

Preflop:

AJo is a 3bet, after w34z3l's range. I decided to squeeze 3bet, since MP is a perceived fish, where the 3bet might either fold his garbage hands or even be a value 3bet.

OTF:

3bet getting called, I would fold to any donk bet. The board is superdry and we should check back hands with reasonable showdown value on dry boards.

OTT:

A second check from villain, so I think we respects my 3bet range. I think he could be holding better hands, such as AK and AQ combinations, as well as TT/JJ. So I decided for a delayed cbet, with the intention to bet/fold the turn, and check behind the river, in unimproved.

# Hand 2 - BB vs. BU - 3bet bluff into cbet with weak vulnerable hand

Spoiler

PokerStars - $0.02 NL FAST (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

BTN: 195.5 BB (VPIP: 14.29, PFR: 8.16, 3Bet Preflop: 5.00, Hands: 50)
SB: 100 BB
Hero (BB): 105.5 BB
UTG: 186 BB (VPIP: 100.00, PFR: 100.00, 3Bet Preflop: -, Hands: 1)
MP: 47.5 BB (VPIP: 40.91, PFR: 22.73, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 22)
CO: 209.5 BB (VPIP: 20.43, PFR: 12.90, 3Bet Preflop: 5.56, Hands: 95)

SB posts SB 0.5 BB, Hero posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has 8♥ 6♥

fold, fold, fold, BTN raises to 3 BB, fold, Hero raises to 8 BB, BTN calls 5 BB

Flop: (16.5 BB, 2 players) 3♥ 8♦ 2♣
Hero bets 10.5 BB, BTN calls 10.5 BB

Turn: (37.5 BB, 2 players) J♣
Hero checks, BTN bets 28.5 BB, Hero calls 28.5 BB

River: (94.5 BB, 2 players) 5♠
Hero checks, BTN checks

Hero shows 8♥ 6♥ (One Pair, Eights) (Pre 40%, Flop 79%, Turn 86%)
BTN mucks K♣ A♥ (High Card, Ace) (Pre 60%, Flop 21%, Turn 14%)
Hero wins 91 BB

Preflop:

After having a closer look, villain is a tight/weak player. At the time, I just played w34z3l's range, but now I see, villain has 57% WTSD and 0 FtFcbet and 0FtTcbet, over very little sample, but is already a very big losing player.

So, 3bet bluff vs a tight player is good, since if we hit big, tight players most likely don't have us beat, but will pay us off.

OTF:

I make top pair, a marginal and vulnerable hand. So I decided to cbet.

OTT:

The turn, I decided to check/call, to let him bluff. The board is very dry, and might have missed me completely also.

OTR:

I check. Unfortunately, I can't remember, what I thought there. Right now, I would most likely X/F, except he bets very little.

Flop: (37 BB, 2 players) 6♦ 2♣ 2♦
SB checks, Hero checks

Turn: (37 BB, 2 players) 9♣
SB checks, Hero bets 16 BB, SB calls 16 BB

River: (69 BB, 2 players) 5♣
SB checks, Hero checks

SB shows A♦ T♥ (One Pair, Twos) (Pre 26%, Flop 24%, Turn 14%)
Hero shows A♥ Q♦ (One Pair, Twos) (Pre 74%, Flop 76%, Turn 86%)
Hero wins 66.5 BB

Preflop:

AQo is an open raise, after his 3bet, I decide to 4bet/fold, if 5bet occurs.

OTF:

The flop is superdry, and I don't want to throw away money, so I check back. Most of the times, at that limit, people will bet the turn with a strong hand.

OTT:

Villain checked again, and I don't think he can be ever strong, given that there are now two flushdraws (except he has 99). So I decided for a delayed cbet, since im the last PF-Raiser.

OTR:

I check, since I don't expect to fold anything, what calls the turn or get called by worse.

CO checks, Hero bets 17 BB, CO calls 17 BB

River: (68.5 BB, 2 players) 7♠
CO checks, Hero bets 66.5 BB and is all-in,

to be continued...

Preflop:

Q9s, in our 3bet bluff range.

OTF:

Villain is unknown, so usually a small cbet gives a lot fold equity on a Kxx board, which I need, since I have no equity here. Our perceived range is much stronger than villains.

OTT:

I usually 2nd barrel Kxx boards, since better hands, like sets, will raise me here. But since I am trying to rep. at least a K here, I decided to fire a 2nd barrel. It should fold out Kx hands and QQ/JJ/TT and 2nd pairs etc.

OTR:

Villain called preflop, called 2 streets, which doesn't show a lot of strength. He might sit on KQo or a missed draw, which will have to fold to a river shove. So I decided to jam it in, folding all his crap.

Conclusion?!?!?:

Don't expect people to know, what your perceived range is. So listen to w34z3l, and don't 2nd barrel bluff, if villain is most likely to be strong, e.g. villain calls flop with 90% FtFlopCbet, but 0% FtTurnCbet. Then again, bluff-bet all flops, if villain has the 90% FtFlopCbet :)

...the rest of the hand...

CO calls 66.5 BB

Hero shows 9♦ Q♦ (One Pair, Sevens) (Pre 32%, Flop 19%, Turn 7%)
CO shows T♣ T♦ (Two Pair, Tens and Sevens) (Pre 68%, Flop 81%, Turn 93%)
CO wins 194.5 BB

I think that's it. This video is really good. Once I'm fit again, I will 1 table Zoom, and just work on my cbetting. I'm looking forward to it! :)

Thanks w34z3l!!!
