And I didn't know.

Thanks for that, tonypmm!

I looked over the list of Vancouver prices, and found that the ones quoted were a bit on the high side, but by only 10% or so, and others were more-or-less correct.

I was surprised that some things -- electricity and gasoline in particular -- were cheaper here.

I thought that the rents quoted were quite high -- they must be nice places!

Yeah that is awesome site. My brother gave me that site a year or so ago and I got hooked so bad its unreal :)

I also found that some prices in Nis are not realistic. For example rent for 3 bedroom apartment being less then 150 euros , come on its more like 200 euros + expenses. But the other stuff , bills are 99% close, clothing and stuff that is all spot on - just the rent part is not matched precisely.

That also worries me a bit because once you want to go somewhere stay for a while, 1st thing that you ask is "how much is rent for .... ".

Overall very useful site , recommend it to anybody looking at travel destinations for future.

I think the contributors meant some utter outskirt like Niska Banja or and didn't include expenses, plus they regarded a 3-bedroom apartment as one with 3 rooms, including the living room, and a kitchen (65-80 m.sq. total), like it's assumed in Eastern European cultures, i.e. one room less than Westerners might think. I've found quite a few ads of humble studios (garsonjere) or small 1-person apartments in Nis' city centre for €120-150 a month with bills excluded, so it looks realistic to me.

You are the living proof of calculations I lay out. You got 4-5% on 30s, 2-3% on 60s. That's what it take with 3k games a month 10 months a year to earn 54k $ pre rb. It probably took you couple of years to get to that point, am I wrong? I also know you are younger than me ( I am 30, in July 7th 31 , you are around 25 from what I have seen on your blog) so you are the one who should go for SNE definitely. If noting, you can pull the brake at 500k VPP mark and still make good money.

well i started playing online at the age of 19 (i am 23 now) and focused more or less on 6max turbo sngs for the last 2,5 years (I never took coaching) besides university. SNE was never really a topic for me due to private reasons. I have a challenge this month, where i play 3000 6max turbos with around 60$ avgBI in 31 days, which is close to SNE-pace. But hell its so exhausting. I end up in a nuthouse, if i would have to do that for a whole year!

Also interesting 3 bet pot with both of us involved where you flopped TPWK and took my stack. I didn't put those hands in your 3 bet range. I now know that you are different then the rest of the guys so I will readjust accordingly ;)

Well, i have no static ranges at all. I focus more on the player stats, stacks, position, history and play dynamic rather than specific hands and i basically try to mix things up. My game is very unconsistent in quality i think tho. When i am focused and play A-game i would see myself as one of the best regs at midstakes, but mostly i play just B-game and sometimes even C-game when tilt. :(

anyway 3bet-game is one aspect in sngs, where many regs suck big time being either too tight or too spewy etc.

Do you mind going into your table selection? Do you use Sharkystrator or similar software? Or do you do table selecting manually ? How many tables are you playing? Talk more about 60s when you get the chance. I played some super lol sample there and played HellRaizorK,AndyVan (something like that) and some SNE guy who mixes hypers with turbos. Have positive ROI on that lol sample but I am sure that limit is very tough because of more better regs.

I dont use any TS-tool. I colour-mark players on how i perceive their skill, so i can see instantly in the lobby, if a table seems playable or not. at the 60s there are usually enough tables with 2 unknowns/fish. at 100s sometimes u gotta play that 1 uknown/fish per table if there are 1-2 weak regs in. Tough regs on these limits are bigstealer, MikeyMcD45, Buschapa, PaccMR28, Alex.i1off and well dombomain33, ponchua, mishanya_pim, Hellrazor_KK and AndrVik are for the "masstabling" they do, quite okay. and probably a few that i forgot right now...

I will send you request via community tool also, we can connect via Skype and talk there in some near future.

All the best and keep on crushing!

okay, i will add u :)

Think in ranges.

If you can stand a below-average flop, you can pay a below-average rent.

My 3 children -- all in their 30s -- share a huge house in the burbs. It is old, and run down a bit, but everything works, and its warm and dry. They don't pay equal shares, because they each have different amounts of private space, but the TOTAL is a shade over 1000 €

My son's girfriend lives there too, and if she contributes, the per-person share goes even lower. The point is that if you look online for the price to rent a 280 sq m detached house is 3000 € and more -- even in their area.

Cheers,

Sorry to hear you cancelled the tour. It's good to make money just now though. Unfortunately pokerstars have their fiendish RB levels, so that you have to grind like a lab rat ( I like it _thumbsup:) , with practically no let up for the full year.
Are you going to be doing any playing, or just lessons and practice?

Finally some nice run good on 30s to increase ITM there
Nice winning day overall. You check the graphs and update HERE

I just finished with grind and updating blogs. I am heading home now, shall respond later tonight or tomorrow here - appreciate the patience guys.

I can't agree more :f_thumbsup: **** hypers: turbos (selected from the $30-100 limits) are the best SNE-chasing method!

Well here in Nis we pay rent 130 euros for 1 bedroom apartment + all the rest of the bills 70 euros more. Just internet and cable are 30 euros cause we got lots of HD channels (for sports) and 20mb+ download with 2mb+ upload speed.

I would say for 250 euro you can get even bigger apartment (70+m2) including bills in any area in Nis.

What a great age 23!
Still think you should consider SNE cause once you get married and have kids (if that's something you will eventually choose to do) you will have very little to no time for grinding. Now when you are young and have lots of energy should really take advantage to push for that SNE.

I agree with you about 3 bet ranges. Most of them 3 bet either way too tight or too loose. I have seen you and 2 of my friends that also play 30s to know somewhat what to do with 3 betting. I enjoyed that hand even tough I lost the buy in but got really valuable read on your 3 betting abilities :)

Say week ago I was also manually loading tables and using the system you mentioned as well. Since I got Sharkystrator, I just focus on grinding and it takes care for me to do the "table selecting". Sometimes with 3 players in it registers me with weak reg and aggro reg + unknown , but then by the time game starts 2 more aggro regs enter!
So it is not ideal configuration yet but I can say that it makes my life easier and I can even increase games daily. Been playing 200 games a day past 4-5-6 days and will continue to do so until I hit 4k games this month (now at 2925).

I played most of the guys you mentioned. Ponchua on 15s last year, Mishanaya also 15s last year, HellRaizor is opponent who I beat in HU for my very 1st cash on 60s Bigstealer is SNE guy I was talking about ( I believe), AndryVik is the guy that I always saw in the lobby and played some interesting 3 bet pots vs him on 60s. The rest you mentioned I don't think I have encountered yet.

What would you recommend for BR mixing 30s and 60s, going for even number of games (say 100 games a day grind, 50 of each)?

Happy to hear that even on 60s you find 2 unknowns per table , that should make life easier and positive ROI a reality.

Good luck with your challenge for this month and keep in touch!

This makes sense absolutely VS

Like when I lived in Boston in family type home , payed 500$ including all expenses and meals. Then when I lived with only 1 roomate close to Berklee I payed just rent in 1 bedroom apartment 725$! Finally when I lived with 3 more roomates in house in Brighton (15-20 minutes bus drive to Berklee or T) I payed 400$ just rent.

Things can change quite a lot when you live with more people.
I would prepare to live with my brother like I do now so expenses will be higher per person.

Hi my friend!

I can see myself beating 30s in immediate future but for 60s I think some time will need to pass to tackle them because of :
1) I want to increase my BR a lot before I consider adding those swings
2) I don't know all the regs there so in the beginning will most likely play tons of reg infested games therefore decreasing my ROI
3) My game is now good for 30s to have 2-3% ROI minimum but I am not sure how it would work on 60s as I expect a lot of guys who know what they are doing a lot more

Guitar lessons tomorrow as I will not be grinding just coaching students and 2 hours of guitar lessons.

My expenses went up to 1.5k euro per month so until things settle in my family I will have to provide that money on steady basis. That basically means that I will be grinding 3k games minimum mixing 15s and 30s. Doing that will give me minimum 3k$ post rb which will be enough to cover all the living expenses for all of us + apartment bank credits.

I am not planing to do any performing soon but instead just to do lessons with 2 of my hard working students. This year I will sacrifice to grind, make enough money and most importantly improve to get to 60s have some positive roi there and make my life easier next year by increasing average buy in.
If all of this works out like I plan it, I can't take way more free time and liberties cause 1.5k euro is easier to make mixing 30s and 60s then 15s and 30s.

How are you doing, have you moved to Asia yet?

Massive earthquake today !
Played 1st session only 22 games because of it, then went for some coffee with best friend and lunch with my dad and brother.
Plan for the rest of the day is to play now super long session to hit 125 games and reach monthly total 3100 games. In the evening watch CL finals and relax for whats to come tomorrow.

Tomorrow I will do 2 guitar lessons + coaching my students and in the evening spend time with ex gf.

That will leave me 6 days to grind 900 games to hit 4k games. That will be more than doable as I am sure I will manage to finish it in 5 days and get another day off before end of the month.

Gl on and off the tables!

Another great day at the tables
125 games in 5.08 hours
2nd session was 103 games long

Now heading to best friends for CL finals.

Just couple of things to say... My 1 leak I spotted for 30s is fixed and I finally started getting some card distribution there.
With 35.9% ITM I now have a bit over 3% ROI on 30s. I am sure I can get to 5-6% but it will take couple thousand tournaments and assuming that my ITM will be between 36 and 37% which is very realistic expectations.

Now at 3050 games for the month, tomorrow don't plan to grind but rather do guitar lessons and coaching + see ex gf in the evening so 6 days left to hit 950 games more for the challenge to be complete.
I think I will do it in 5 days starting Monday and then I can take next Sunday off as well for guitar and coaching sessions.

Enjoy your day on and off the tables!

P.S. You can check today's results in May grind thread update HERE

Yeah I registered while in office but then it took forever to log into Stars on laptop as my best friend has some internet troubles at his place.
Overall played really well , was in top 300 with stack and then I pulled really stupid bluff BVB vs some random guy from Croatia who turned straight with J9o. Left tourney with AJo vs KK , before the big bluff got cooler KK vs AA vs AQo 3 way and that is that.
