Hey gAsheks,

This line is so unlikely without KK+ (perhaps even just AA when 222bb deep) that I think it's fine to make exploitative fold preflop here with AKs even after cold-4betting. If it's SB that 5bets then obviously we are committed here.

Part of the reason I suspect folding is good is not just due to the preflop price we are getting (which is actually pretty good). It's to do with our reverse implied-odds being out of position while deep with a likely dominated hand.

What you think about considering other options? For example calling those 4 suited combos and cold 4betting AKo? (due to deep situation)

Yeah, cold-calling preflop vs SB 3b is totally fine here. Nothing wrong with cold-4b though. The reason we treat the 5b with so much respect is simply because it will happen so infrequently when deep. So we don't need to be worried about cold-4b just because of slim possibility the guy wakes up with AA and 5bets us.

Up-side to cold-calling 3b is we play IP vs SB and keep his range wide. The downside is we risk playing multi-way pot.

Hi,

Let's consider for a 1 sec that SB is 200bb deep. Do we have a fold vs SB 5bet then?

Thank you.

Yes, we should fold in most cases.

Although keep in mind that while deep we should only be cold-4betting if we expect opponent to a have a reasonably wide flat-4b range. If he just 5bets or folds vs our cold-4b then we should really strong consider flatting his 3b rather than cold-4betting since we don't want to turn AKs into a bluff.
