Hey, raiser is onetabling guy, he had 27/15 after 11 hands or something like that.

DO you think its okay to value 3bet this? What if we had no stats at all?

What if he was on cut off and we on bu/sb/bb?

Thanks

Hey Tartartom,

KJo is pretty much never a value-bet here in terms of equity.

That's not to say that a HU scenario won't be profitable if opponent is very unskilled.

By default I would just fold this. If he is on CO and we were on button my default might be to cold-call. If I 3bet it it's a bluff not value. You can verify with equilab, opponent has to be opening extremely wide and calling extremely wide for KJo to ever be a value 3b. However again, this is not to say a HU situation IP with initiative won't be profitable vs some opponents even if we reach the flop with an equity disadvantage.

Hey,
We dont have eqity disadvantage when he continues, but we also can vbet and bluff better.
And that is because we can put him on range.
So if you say that it might be profitable, then what hands would you give him in his calling range?

His PFR is 15, so let's say he has RFI from UTG of 13% (This is pretty ambitious, it could easily be a lot tighter). And let's be really optimistic and say he flats 3b with his entire range. We have 40% equity with KJo.

So technically speaking this is not a value 3b. We may be able to extract value postflop if we hit a hand though - but the 3b itself doesn't get called by over 50% worse hands and is technically not a value 3b.

Sheeet, I wanted to say that we HAVE equity disadvantage. Im aware that he has to have a lot of junk to call it value 3b in terms of equity.

So on what range would you usually put unknown fish when he calls (I wouldnt assume much from 11 hands, only that he might not be total fish)?

I sometimes see fishies with even 0 pfr, and thet open/call with 53o or K4s etc, thats why Im thinking about it like value 3b, because we dominate him, we can read his range and he can not read ours (most of the time).

Potentially as wide as JJ-55, AQs-ATs, KTs+, QTs+, JTs, T9s, 98s, 87s, 76s, AQo-AJo, KQo

Although I normally just err on the side of caution and assume a little tighter than this vs an unknown suspected fish.
