Problems with Sharkystrator again
Not loading games, had to do manual loading , takes me too much focus after using Sharky for a week +

75 games only for the game, heading home to do some coaching and Skype convos.

Now at 3475 games, 3 days left to do 525 games. If we exclude SN Freerol and SCOOP event that is 527 games left.
Was hoping to get 1 free day but that won't happen obviously. Saturday I shall play 77 + 50 games, tomorrow and day after 200 each.

Day 29

226 games - 8.73 hours

3 sessions, 75 75 and 76 games

1st session crushing, things going my way, was up 400$+. 2nd and 3rd sessions bunch of setups and just variance in 4-5 places and in HU sick things.

Overall happy with my play, might have made some mistakes more then in previous days but nothing to worry me to extend not to get sleep.

300 games left to complete the challenge. Still haven't decided if I will do 225 + 75 on Saturday or do 150 on each day. More leaning towards 1st option as on Saturday I have to teach 2 lessons also so I will most likely grind 75 then.

Results graph

ITM distribution graph

Hu 41 vs 41 18% each

Day 30

Problems!

Internet with cable was off this morning so I couldn't grind my 1st session. Instead worked on the game and went for coffee with best friend.

Came back to the office and played 1st session 75 games - got butchered with setups.
Started 2nd session 150 games , managed to hit total 133 or 138 games , why?
PT4 just crashed and stopped to work with HUD!
I literally went crazy, stopped loading tables and said its enough for the day.
After finishing those games, running super bad whole day w/e, upgraded PT4 (which took a long time also) and hopefully tomorrow I can do 160-170 games to finish this challenge.

I am home already now , results from today no need to put cause I tried loading HM1 instead of PT4 then some tourneys went there etc

Overall day was low ITM like 32%, tons of 2nd vs 1st places, setups in bubble and before so -250$ not that bad at the end of the day.

Whole day PT4 didn't work so I used hm1 and it sucked bad - want my PT4 back!

Will post sharkscope graphs with screen shoots soon

Summary

4000 games completed

Time spent grinding - around 170 to 175 hours (definitely less than 180 hours)

Money won from BOP = 60$

Money won on Stars excluding MTTs I played pre RB = 2501$

Also won another 108$ on Stan James playing some HU hypers there one day. You can check it , my nick on Stan James is same IvicaIliev77

ROI on 15s turbos 3.8% with 36% ITM (1874 games)
ROI on 30s turbos 3.2% with 36.1% ITM (1553 games)
ROI on 15s regular speed 1.1% with 34.7% ITM (530 games)
ROI on 30s regular speed -10.8% with 30.2% ITM (43 games)

Money won post RB including BOP and Stan James HU hypers = 4912$!

Hourly for this month 28.82$ which is less then previous months mainly due to lower ITM this month.

Here is a screen shot from Sharkscope with pre and post rb winnings not including Stan James

Ok so my expectations were not meet this month.

I was expecting to reach my regular ITM after 4k games on both limits, to have 36.7% but instead my ITM total is only 35.8%! Definitely feel I ran lower then expected.

What is good about this month is I started mixing 30s with 15s. That was the best decision I made poker wise lately as I feel I have a lot of edge there as well and expect to have minimum 3% every month up to 7% pre RB , depending on ITM %.

My HU hypers work from April definitely put me on top to increase my ROI and crush the games even better. That is why I feel with my regular ITM I will have average ROI of no less than 5% instead of 3% which is what happened this month.

Improvement also happened. I found 1 leak on 30s that I did and it took me first 700-800 games to get reads on all my opponents, figure out their leaks and readjust my approach vs different opponents.

Overall I am satisfied with whole month.
Considering what has happened in my life recently, this was my way of mentally bouncing back and pushing myself to set new limits for myself.

I feel in future months mixing 15s and 30s will continue to happen while I study and gather more roll to take shoots at 60s.

June I will not grind all the way until 11th so I will not set concrete goals now, definitely would like to hit 2.5k games minimum mixing 15s and 30s.

Thank you for following the challenge and see you in some future ones!

Thank you guys much appreciated.

Hope things will keep happening for me in poker , especially increasing ITM and ROI to 4% + on any limit pre rb.

Been reading this thread couple of times already and I must say, great job man!

Since I`m new and don`t yet understand some of the things in this blog, I`m curios, what was your total profit in may, $4,744 or?

Oh, and a small reminder, not sure do you remember this ;)

Greetings from Republika Srpska! :)

Thanks man appreciate it!

On that screen shot 2 things are missing. 108$ which I won playing HU hypers on Stan James in May + 60$ from BOP (battle of planets on stars).
So 168$ + 4744$ = 4912$ total earned

That is the best video clip in the world and I used to have it in my signature on Serbian poker forum. I shall add it here as well since the May grind is finished.

All the best to Republika Srpska :)

You mentioned that you got reads on your opponenets to figure out their leaks.

Can you give an example of a leak from an opponent and how you adjust to that specifik leak ?

Yeah sure

Very basic example of adjusting would be someone showing ATC BVB between 7 or 8 to 10bb. In that case I can easily call bottom of the nash without being "scared" what the opponent will turn there as I saw for example 102o 73o 82s shoving for 7-10bb.
So basically if I see somebody doing wider then nash BVB , I instantly adjust my calling ranges and do it wider. Not to mention that many opponents don't yet know how their range changes BVB when you are facing CL, direct opponent, 3rd stack etc so they make even more mistakes there.

More advanced example of adjusting would be post flop.
Say somebody 3 bets me a lot from blinds and 100% of time C bets on any board then continues with turn double barrel. In this case I adjust with 4 ways. 1) Raise their C bet on flop 2) Constructed bluff catch calling ranges for double and triple barrel + floating with additional equity 3) I adjust by 4 betting him/her more pre flop 4) I fold and defend even tighter (if their 3 bet sizing is over 3x only!)

There is tons of examples really. Basic stuff is adjusting calling and shoving ranges cause regs still make mistakes with shoving pre and in bubble. Post flop is more advanced adjusting and it requires showdown, tendencies and frequencies vs hero + you need to think hard how to counter their initial strategy.

Hope that helps :)

Golden answer - thanks.

The advanced example; do you allready have enough hands in your database on single opponents to study such an example ?

Am I correct that you use your dtb-software (hem or pt4) to filter out those situations ? And if so - do you filter for a specifik player and study player by player - or do you filter the "situation" to see how all players do play ?

I have enough hands with all the regs so I can do database analysis in PT4 much easier.

I would use general filters and then write individual notes for each of the regs.
If some reg gives me very hard time, I would study him individually.
To be honest I haven't come across such reg yet so I would just do write individual notes for all them and exploit their tendencies.
